For those interested in a time attack run in each car: 15 mins long.

For those interested in a test of sheer power, 2nd gear roll from 50kmh (31mph)

The actual race:

Don't know what happened to the ZR1 in the race as the only way it didn't finish last was to out drag the F430 across the S/F line on the last lap. Both were wellll back of the other 3 cars.

And if that was a "tuned" F430, what was it tuned to do exactly? I can understand it's lower top speed, but I'd would expect its cornering speed to be much higher than the other competitors. In the race is was a complete non-factor.

The GT-R is simply a rampaging beast off the line and all its electronic trickery and brainy differentials clearly are capable of making up for its portly weight. The added 100hp or so compared to the prior model doesn't hurt either naturally. I love how the driver knew how much he was going to destroy the F430 ahead off the line that he began his evasive maneuver even before the car launched .

Likewise the GT2RS also proves yet again the ability of a well designed AWD system to compensate, quite well, for the added mass
:guilty:. GTR2RS is just fast :D. Watching the effects of the turbo boost via the tach on this car under acceleration was rather impressive.

LFA gets my vote for best interior sound, but gotta admit I thought it was gonna be faster than it was.

Without having watched the videos, I'm already willing to ask who the hell forgot how to drive with the ZR1. Granted, they're a bit twitchy, but it should be banging away like Mjölnir. Especially with 638 BHP on tap. Granted, the GT2 is a superb vehicle. I'm happy to lose to that in a ZR1. But the rest of the crop? Really?

It's best not listen to Top Gear when it comes to Aston Martins and Jaguars, the same applies here for the GT-R. Car culture has become so infected with nationalism recently... :(

GTR - Cake walk from the beginning
LFA - Pulls away a little in the beginning and then? Driver fatigue?
ZR1 - Issues driving/pushing the car?/Sunday drive to the park?
GT2RS - Courteous to LFA, many opportunities to pass/Issues shifting.
F430 - Possible issues with tune?/Poorly tuned?

Entertaining nonetheless.

With Top Gear, people should know that they're not being very objective - it's pretty darn obvious that they're not trying to give an unbiased review. But the Stig laps do seem to hold at least some value.
Best motoring, though, I dunno... I feel like they arre trying to make it look like a serious competition and while it's entertaining as well, I don't really believe that there's much objectivity involved there. Not when the japanese cars dominate time after time - and that's coming from someone who does like JDM cars

The GT2RS is a rear wheel driven car, by the way. Like the GT2, GT3, GT3RS and GT3RS 4.0. You're thinking of the Porsche Turbo.

After watching the first vid sounds to be the ZR1 had Traction control on and it inhibiting a fair bit, the engine was hesitating (listen to it) on corner exit until the car was almost going straight.

At least this confirms that Lexus sucks.

Seriously, though, terrible drivers. Walter would've driven circles around all of them in that GT2RS. The ZR1 also would have been competitive in the hands of a skilled driver.

Exactly. Dunno, the car is over a second faster around the track (I guess the driver forgot to hold back enough, there) anyways, but strangely can't beat the GT-R on the track, for example...

Let me give you a hint of how all the 5 lap battles in best motoring went. Tsuchiya wins in the japaneese car. Well the only one he didnt was the evo vs sti one back in like 04.

Well, you gotta give your audience what it demands, eh?

Dunno, but if they want to make it look like an actual comparison, it should be somewhat objective. I'm fine with reviews based on a presenter's taste, but as soon as they're putting numbers out there, I'd like to see some objectivity...

Indeed, Needs more John Heinricy. Hattori had to suck driving the ZR1 on purpose? I mean, he dropped it to almost 2,000 in some corners. Granted, it's basically a super charged big block, it's got plenty of torque, but come ON.

But well, bein' the last Best Motoring episode, and having Tsuchiya in the GTR didn't tell you from the start what the outcome would be?

In any which way however, these videos will surely be missed, they were highly entertaining.

It is Best Motoring, the GT-R always wins. Fact.
Seems that way sometimes. They also have a history of not driving American cars very well, notably Corvettes. They're plenty capable according to all the magazines I've ever read, but they never show up on BM. I guess they can't handle man-cars over there.

Italian rally driver beats the Japanese race drivers, despite sweaty palms.

Agreed. They never seem to drive Z06 or the ZR1 particularly well for some reason... Truthfully speaking, the ZR1 should have been way more competitive given a better suited driver.

As far as the Italian rally driver beating the Japanese race car driver... If you look at the time, the last driver was really consistent despite racing on worn tires (after 3 other drivers who shredded those tires).

Best motoring videos are just mainly for entertainment.
