best RX 7???

Damn, I never relized so many people liked the Sprit Type R's, maybe I'll purchase one at the Mazda dealership tonight. (in GT4 obviously) I feel so left out... :) Do they feel like the earlier (93-96) FD3S's or are they more "tame" so to speak?

after careful deliberation im leaning more towards the bathurst
there so close but theres still a difference, i think the bathurst handles better
i bought my sunburst yellow one with 10 ks on the clock 👍

well from a reality stand point u cannot make an FC handle like an FD. Its because of the suspention geometry is just more advanced than the FC's design...I do like to think that they come close i have a video of the tsukuba race of the RE FC and the RE FD the same driver drove it the FC just wasnt up to par BUT it ran a damn good time...just the FD ran a 56....top in class if im not mistaken! well honestly i belive for 300+hp time attack the FD will rape the FC...it just simply puts all the power to the ground at least for me the FC just doesnt do that...(i dont use slicks so im working offa s2 and sometimes rarely s3's....) so it just brakes loose to easy...for me...well good luck again u RX-7 owners!

A "more advanced" suspension geometry doesn't necessarily mean better handling...just look at the Porsche Boxster, with the "inferior" MacPherson strut at all four corners... :)

That said, I doubt GT4 cares about specific suspension geometry, anyway...it's probably more like some "handling value" that all cars have.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I have watched a couple of GT3 drift videos lately, and just wanted to know how do you get the yellow Mazda RX-7? In the video, it was a sunburst yellow RZ model, but in my GT3 game. The only color that is offered for the RZ model is snow white. Is it a prize car or was the RX-7 in that video edited to look like that color? I would appreciate any help.

The RX-7 I've used the most is the '92 RZ. It's not quite as powerful as the later versions of the FD, but a little lighter.

I haven't put them in a head-to-head test, it's probably just becuase I wanted to drive a black RX-7.

FD RX-7 and oversteer? no way.. they're way too stabile and rear has too much grip. but,m after all, this car was designed to compete with porsches.. but I still wish that it would handle like MX-5/Miata.

Thats like saying the best RX-7 is the RX-3

good car in its own right but your way the hell off :), my choice for best RX-7 is... the RX-7. It really dosen't matter which one you pick, it's still an RX-7, which means you're getting one hell of a rotary-powered car for the money. 👍

souther: kinda half and half - i know many people don't like the rx8 (especially in real life), but in the game to me it feels pretty very like an rx7 but better behaved - nearly as much power as the most powerful fd, but without turbo so it feels better, and much less fishtail-y, but with a rotary engine and the same mr'ish layout, still a close feel.

huuuuuuuuh?? a rx7 is an rx7 and an rx8 is a rx8. two totally different cars. theres a reason its called an rx8..cuz its not an rx7 ;) anyways id have to choose my spirit r though :))))

the fc also doesn't have 255 tires all around like the spirit r, and for some reason in the game it can't even hit 500 hp. i get confused on whether we are talking about how well it handles in the game or in real life? or does some people just think they are the same?

We are talking about in the game. Although i use to drive an FC, it handles almost the same in the game.

Australia had a special high performance version of the RX-7 in 1995, dubbed the RX-7 SP. This model was developed as a homologated road-going version of the race car used in the 12hr endurance race held at Bathurst, New South Wales, beginning in 1991. An initial run of 25 were made, and later an extra 10 were built by Mazda due to demand. The RX-7 SP produced 204 kW (273.6 hp) and 357 Nm (263.3 ft.lbf) of torque, compared to 176 kW (236 hp) and 294 Nm (216.9 ft.lbf) on the standard version. Other changes included a race-inspired nose cone, race-proven rear wing, a 120 L fuel tank (as opposed to the 76 L tank in the standard car), a 4.3:1-ratio rear differential, 17 in diameter wheels, larger brake rotors and calipers. An improved intercooler, exhaust, and modified ECU were also included. Weight was reduced significantly with the aid of carbon fibre; a lightweight bonnet and seats were used to reduce weight to just 1218 kg (from 1310 kg). It was a serious road going race car that matched their rival Porsche 968CSRS for the final year Mazda officially entered. The formula paid off when the RX-7SP won the title, giving Mazda the winning trophy for a fourth straight year. A later special version, the Bathurst R, was released in 2001.
