Yikes, 3D looks yucky! The drop from 1440 to 720p is extremely noticeable and takes graphics back to only barely better than GT5.
Luckily my TV has a 2D-3D conversion mode so I can keep playing GT6 in 1440 3D!
Otherwise the drop in graphics quality is too severe to make it worth using 3D in my opinion.
1440p O_o ?

This thread reminds me, I really need to check this out in 3d. I enjoyed it in GT5 in 3d but haven't had a chance to try it on GT6 yet.

So, as suspected, upgrading to HDMI 1.4 solved my problem. But boy does the picture quality suffer in 3D mode! The amount of aliasing is almost unbearable for me. Yes, you get an improved sense of speed and therefore improved realism, but GT4 graphics shoot that gained realism right down again.

Yeah, unfortunately it's pretty obvious now that PD tried to do something with GT6 that simply didn't work. They should release an update to move the rendering engine completely back to the one they used in GT5 and I think almost everyone would be happier. 3D mode in GT6 is ghastly, and vastly worse than it was in GT5... Very sad.

You can reduce the "weird vertical lines" issue by playing with the convergence. I've been trying anything from 25-50% on that setting and it's "somewhat better" at certain settings than at other ones. (I don't have the patience to try to narrow it further and try to "fix" things... PD needs to do that as it's their mess to clean up).
