On the contrary, I thought it was pretty good. A little tail happy, but otherwise a great car. Interested to know why you think its so bad.

It's tail happy, but at the same time, it won't turn. Also, it really needs an LSD, as I've had it multiple times where only 1 back wheel is spinning

It's the North American International Auto Show. There is no such thing as the Detroit Auto Show. We here in The D don't even call it that. We just say Auto Show for short.

...but seriously, this no interior thing is getting really old. C'mon, PD.
I know it is called the North American Auto Show; I call it the Detroit Auto Show because it is here in Detroit. It really doesn't matter what you call it.

Ah, I see. Yea, It is a bit tail happy, but nothing a little throttle control can't take care of. I didn't have any problems getting it to turn though, interesting.

2:14.5 in the M4, added a welcome $100,000 plus a nice car to boot.

I see the record is currently 2:08.

Update, 2:12.8........... now 2:11.527. Only 9 sec's in front of Cargo.;)

Yea, I only did two laps, got Bronze and quit because of a sticky brake pedal. You must feel proud.

Edit: Well look at that, double post. Sorry about that guys.

I see it can't be tuned. Used it in the German car races and won easily enough though. Was able to change tyres to sport soft.

Excuses excuses, a poor workman etc etc.

2:07.5 for me so far in 1st place. It felt pretty good, but there are a few tenths left to find.

Any tips for this one? I really am having trouble getting this car to do what I want. Are you guys able to power this beast into the turns without sliding the tail all the way out?

Not really seeing the M3 heritage here. Does BMW stand for Brake More or Wipeout? Bland Mercedes Wannabe?
:p

Car is OK, nothing special but free so OK. Got gold on 1st run (2:14.summat), nice 100K I suppose and a free car so worth 2 minutes of my time.

Cheese tires, car sliding all over the place, turn in well before the usual corner entries. Silver before I lost patience for the evening (having run three 7-lap races on Bathurst earlier in the evening for WRS).

Loved the car! Gold on first attempt :) I don't know what people hate about the car, if they think this car i sliding then I wouldn't want to be them when they try some of the other cars in the game. ^^

I'm in the UK, so i'm guessing this ends at midnight on Christmas day?

Car brakes absolutely beautiful. Gold with no tuning. 100k reward which is nice :)
I just can't seem to grasp the fact that it has no dashboard. Why did they do this? :-/

It's all about how one controls the weight, really. I've found this to be true in cars as stiff and stable as the Subaru BRZ GT300 car.
I've not got a chance to try out the Beamer yet, but I'm sure that digging the fronts in and smoothly following through with a feed of throttle is a good way of getting it around corners. Did you find this to be true with the M4?

...I think I may need to clean them inside or blow them out. Any suggestions on this. Thanks.
hi,
I had the same problem.
I opened it, cleaned everything and then put a small 1mm plastic plate underneath the brake spring. there is small gap where the brake spring sits in and there I just added that small plate. This made my brake working perfect afterwards. A bit harder than before, which I really like. just cleaning did not help on mine. so if you face that as well after cleaning, try that.
good luck

I bought the car yesterday the minute showed up :(
I golded the event with a 2:10:9xx and 77th place to find out it's gifted anyway I retained the money wasted which is a good thing.

@GTP_CargoRatt When you clean your pedals out spray some WD-40 in there. I was having trouble with a flickering accelerator and sticky brake on my DFGT and this has fixed it.

It does feel more like it's on comfort tyres than sport hards. So it does seem to require a very delicate touch to avoid under steer or over steer. (TCS = 1, ABS = 1, SRF = Off) I gave up after a while of not being able to better 2:17.4xx to be honest, which is pretty poor. But, in my defense I hat the track so much I've not driven it even a metre more than I've had to in GT5/6, so in the hideous first section my lines are terrible and I sail from one missed apex to the next in a haze of understeering tyre squeal... then getting the power down out of most of the corners later in the lap is messy.

I really need to bite the bullet and get a wheel.

edit: maybe it's just the physics in the seasonal. Took my Yas Marina Blue M4 for a time trial on the Nordschleife afterwards and it seemed like there was much more bite, specifically at the front end. Anybody else notice this?

Did someone say SRF is 'optional' on this?

Looking forward to giving it a go 👍

Just took it for a spin and got Bronze. Great car, very happy with it. Will have to give this a proper go once I fix my sticky brake pedal. :grumpy: Its sticking just enough to slow me down. It only happens after I apply the brakes, showing about 1/4 brake pressure on the HUD display. If I tap the brakes, it releases the rest of the way. I think I may need to clean them inside or blow them out. Any suggestions on this. Thanks.

Here are the steps Mitch…
  1. Remove the pedal fronts (2 allen bolts on the faces)
  2. Turn over your pedal unit and remove all the bottom screws with a cross headed screw driver (don’t miss the 2 hiding under the gripper plate)
  3. Turn it back over and remove the top cover… you’ll now see the pedal units themselves
  4. Give the pedals a good blow out, removing as much of the dust as possible and spray liberally with WD40
  5. Before reassembly, plug the wheel in and run the game (a slow car on a long straight works best)… you can push the brake down with your hand and see if it still shows red on the brake bar when you release it
  6. Reassemble
If this is the 1st time you’ve had this you’ll probably be fine. I cleaned mine out 3 times before that didn’t work anymore and it still stuck on. At this stage you swap the clutch unit for the brake unit (relatively easy swap), changing the internal springs over at the same time.

Just be careful with the allen bolts on the pedal faces – I rounded one of mine during an early attempt to clean it out and it’s a complete pain to get out now.

A new player of GT series here coming from Forza; thought I was pretty good!
Then I see that people are getting 2:10's when I can't even break 2:18 for gold haha!

Hate the track, not fond of the car, getting frustrated :banghead:

Welcome to GT world :) Much harder to drive than Forza IMO.

My first try was 2:15, a few more laps and it would be around 2:10.
owen_legend, don't give up. It gets better :)

Much MUCH harder haha probably more realistic, can't brake hard and turn in this game like you can in forza lol
Literally just managed a gold with a fantastic time of 2:17.970 👍

Still no idea how anyone can get sub 2:10, I know you can tune the car but jeez, the top lap is currently 2:07.367!!

It isn't that bad. Wait till you start with 5-3 goodwill hill climb. That's nearing insanity and made all other goodwood hill climbs seem like a cake walk.

Overall, the game is "learn-able". I was playing TT in gt5. The good thing about the game is, getting gold isn't impossible. But, to be really fast is a different science (or story) altogether.

I've heard of the dreaded 5-3, I've done 4-3, and yeah they've mostly been "easy" - Only the quattro rally car caused a few restarts while i tried to grasp how nimble it was.

I agree with "learn-able" - I've already learnt quite a lot, I'm playing without the driving line which is a challenge for me in itself haha
The next step is getting a wheel, which I've always wanted to do (pricey)
