I got bored earlier and decided to farm... Someone in normal mode with my level 50 Zer0, just to see what sort of stuff he dropped. I did it maybe four times, each time killing him in about 20 seconds with a pretty slow, low capacity sniper rifle and got some pretty good level 34 loot which I transferred to my coincidentally level 34 Salvador. I sold all my crappy level 32 greens and blues and kitted him out with purple weapons and shields. Shame I can't do the same with level 40 gear because my Gaige is really struggling.

Also my three least favourite things about this game:
1. Threshers
2. Stalkers
3. Being put in Fight For Your Life by someone you've very nearly killed only for them to run away and hide.

Stalkers are easy with Zero imo. I hate #3 with a passion, and only badass versions of #1. Was playing Vault hunter mode last night. So tough! All my level 32-35 gear is useless. Thankfully I found an Orange grenade mod after killing Boom&Bewm. Has saved me so much. Lost all my cash on Flynt though

It's not that they're difficult, it's that they're annoying! I wish they'd sit still and wait for me to kill them. Threshers are annoying because of their varied attacks, you've got the Turf ones that spawn a billion tentacles, the Wormhole ones which drag you toward them, the little ones that go flying through the air and are hard to hit as they do so (which just means it takes longer to kill them) and so on. Also their attacks knock you back quite far and the first one you encounter is very difficult to kill, especially with bad gear on TVH. Coincidentally that's where I am with Gaige and that's why I said I'm struggling, I can't even dent his health and I'm too scared of the graveyard.sav virus to play online right now!

Oh, by the way, here's the schedule for golden key codes this weekend: http://www.gearboxsoftware.com/community/articles/951/borderlands-2-golden-keys-incoming. Check https://twitter.com/GearboxSoftware for codes, Randy won't be tweeting them from his account this time. Looks like I'll be getting four of the five seeing as one is released at 5AM GMT.

Edit again: There's just been a patch released for the PC version.

Update v1.1.3 (Released 10/25/2012)

- Added a toggle for whether textures should fade or pop in when a higher-resolution version loads. High-end computers can disable this to avoid seeing lower-resolution textures streaming in.

- Added the ability to reset all challenge progress for a character once they've completed 85% of all non-DLC, non-area-specific challenge levels. This will keep the player's current challenge bonuses and rank, but reset all challenge progress to 0 and allow challenges to be re-completed for additional ranks and bonuses. Resetting is available on the "challenges" screen of the status menu and will display as a tooltip at the bottom of the screen if the player has met the criteria.

- Fixed a bug where profile files set to "read only" were not being saved.

- Fixed a performance issue in Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty content with PhysX set to Medium or High.

This is all great news, but there's no mention of the graveyard.sav virus or a fix for it. Still, this is huge, especially the Badass challenge reset feature.

I did find the 1st thresher hard, but he was distracted by loaders. So I sniped him and used deceptuon to get away. Being able to lunge at enemies allows me to get away from badass's attacks by lunging towards weaker enemies. Combine that with the last skill in that tree, the one with the text : No man is happy till he's dead. Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy.... and you can pretty much confuse the Ai when overwhelmed. Only threshers I have a hard time with are badass elemental turf ones.

Lv 39 and I just entered Santuary. I'm going to hit lv 50 way before playthrough 2 reaches a climax :( Doc Mercy literally took me an hour, but it was worth it for the pistol you get.

Thrashers = Shotgun
Stalker = shotgun
guy running away = oh come on fight like a man

how this sound

Jakobs sniper 28,000 damage
infinity pistol 10,000 damage
Rocket launcher 280,000 x 6
CC shotgun
the bee

and a prius with spinners

I'm trying to beat the first Thresher with Gaige right now, like an idiot I went and started Bright Lights, Flying City without doing any side quests (i.e. at level 38). I managed to get up to level 39 to use some weapons I got with Salvador (benefit of hindsight means I'm holding off on Bright Lights, etc. until I've done all the side quests), but the Gluttonous Thresher is 41... My 7k Hyperion E-Tech rifle with shock damage takes three shots to remove his shields and then I can fire mag after mag of ~1k fire E-Tech SMG into his eyes (i.e. crit location, as you know) and it does barely anything to him. Deathtrap is pretty much useless too, he just zaps him for next to no damage after his shields are down.

He, on the other hand, can:
Put me into Fight For Your Life in about 15 seconds,
Remove the supply drop containers I was trying to use as cover,
Tunnel beneath me and attack with his tentacles which is another way of removing my cover (his tentacles might be a Second Wind target but they move so fast I can never actually hit them so I wouldn't know!)
Dive beneath the surface and come back up with a fully recharged shield...

I don't know why I always come here to moan that a particular boss fight is too hard, I do honestly understand that it's all down to your level and your gear and fighting anything two levels above you is tricky, especially a Badass Thresher. I just want to get back to Sanctuary! I think I'll back up my saves and try a co-op game to get around this part, it's just not working solo for me at all. It would appear that rushing through TVH like I did normal mode isn't going to work.

Oh I badly want a rapid infinity. been farming for it a good few times now. I got the bee shield in about 12 or 13 trys but I have done this 50+ times now. Does anyone have an accurate figure for Dr mercy dropping an infinity? I'm level 50 if it makes any difference.

yeah I'm on PS3 why would you be willing to trade? I have a few things not many oranges but I do have the terramorphous mechromancer class mod and a few other things if ya interested.

I only need one, and all I ask is an adult gaming session in return

Edit. Oh and bacon, assassins can never have enough bacon to fuel their killing sprees.

Did you modify?
Game files, no. Memory contents, yes. Cheat Engine + table that lists the BL2 variables + change backpack size to whatever you want = $$$

I set it to 72 as a throwback to BL1's maximum size with DLC, but I could've also set it to 200+ if I so desired (ironically/coincidentally I set my BL1 backpack to 200 when I was doing a third faceroll Lilith playthrough...). Best part is the value is a one-time change, when you save your game the new backpack size is saved with it :)

Probably just dyslexic. As much as I hate to use smilies I think I probably should to indicate that I'm joking - :guilty:

OK sounds good to me I cant play today as I'm off to a football(soccer) game but I'm free all of Sunday. And yes bacon is also needed:lol::lol:

Man, the game is really hard between Jakobs rifles. I'm running around with a damn Vladof gun. I NEVER use Vladof.

As much as you seem to be locked into the whole "ONLY JAKOBS! ONLY SNIPERS!" mindset, no weapon manufacturer is overall better than another. Yes, Jakobs guns hit like a truck but they're never elemental and you need at least one gun of each elemental type if you want to get anywhere on Pandora. Try using a non-elemental weapon against a super badass loader or badass constructor and compare that to a corrosive weapon ;)

Having said that, I only use two Maliwan snipers (E-Tech corrosive Railer, purple slag from golden key chest) and two Torgue explosive Hulk shotguns so I'm a huge hypocrite

Agreed. Borderlands 2 seems to be way more about picking the right elemental weapon for the enemy you're facing than the first game was, mainly because of the huge damage reduction if you use the element they're resistant to, the massive damage increase if you use the one they're weak against and the fairly small base damage difference between elemental and non-elemental. I seem to recall the first game having a huge difference between the two so most of the time I went with non-elemental if I had the choice, that doesn't work in this game though.

In BL1 I just Hellfired everything when playing as Lilith. srs. Everything. Even badass fire skags. In BL2 - TVH especially - you can't do that as, like you say, the damage resistances have been massively jacked up. My 14k base damage/1300 corrosive damage 45 Railer was ticking for three points of damage against a slightly lower-level (43 vs my 46 afaik) highly resistant enemy. Three!

Pretty sure slag weapons do zero damage at all to naturally-slagged enemies like slagged skags (sklags?) and slagged spiderants too, which can be somewhat of a hindrance when I often rely on the 7250 base damage of my 42 slag sniper to finish stuff off... but gunzerking my Torgues usually sorts that out fairly quickly.

I think they made it so that you just can't use one set of highly useable weapons to kill everything (Hellfire). I am still at like the last 2 missions in the story in TVHM and I think I need to reconfigure my loadout too, for corrosive.

In borderlands one I used my Cyclops with almost 1400 base damage which was explosive, and that pearlslant revolver with electric damage. They both healed me as a bonus. The cyclops could take out crawmerax with 14 well placed shots. Oh the good times with Mordecai.

Rykon, I'm in love with my purple Vladof Sniper rifle with base 2.7k damage. It doesn't have burst fire, but has a 8.3 fire rate.

Note to self (and others I guess): Resist the temptation to spam a full load of Pandemic grenades at things, I just chucked six at a raging Badass Goliath and the game QQ'd on me and the other two guys in my game. It's quite a sight, though, so many grenades flying around and about a billion corrosive DOT numbers coming out of everything but the game didn't seem to enjoy it as much.

I've seen that a lot, I'm used to it.

Btw, here are some of my weapons.

Sorry for very long post.

6 hours away from the big 200... Then I'm only 35 away from playing Borderlands 2 more than Battlefield 3, a game which has been out for a year and one that I thought I played a lot! Madness.

I came to realise something earlier on: Why hold on to golden keys for when you hit level 50? Unless you intend to cap just one character, there's not much point. I've been using them every few levels with my other characters and I've now got quite a huge selection of purple, magenta and orange weapons from level 8 to 50 in their banks.

Also, just because I have it copied ready to paste, here's the last PC key code from this weekend: C3WT3-W96BK-K6JTB-JB3JJ-3J6CS. There are 360 and PS3 codes on the Gearbox twitter (twitter.com/gearboxsoftware).

Edit: One of the seven 'special' midgets you fight in The Fridge just dropped a Legendary Mechromancer mod for me! Only level 39 but still, quite a find.

Just hit level 49, nearly to 50 :) Found some real nice loot in the last couple of storyline quests, a level 46 3200/1700 base/elem dmg Hyperion E-Tech corrosive SMG, Maliwan corrosive SMG, Vladof burst-fire corrosive sniper, level 48 shield with 49k capacity after my class mod reduces shield cap by ~2200.

Had very little trouble with the
BNK-3R and Angel control core
fights this time around too, likely because everything was getting acid to the face :D

I'm usually very, very familiar with the critical points of creatures. Badass Loaders are a simple matter of blowing off the limbs, then chipping its health down. Then again, when I need something's health down NOW, I use a rocket launcher.

Though that said, I tend to only really care when I need corrosive (I've got guns for that) or if I want to just do ludicrous damage, and use slag. (I've got a gun for that too.) Yes, a Jakobs rifle is always my mainstay, when the job calls, I'll whip out an assault rifle, or SMG, or grenade launcher, or whatever. I only never bother with shock weapons and I rarely want a flame weapon for the flame part.

Shock weapons do seem to be completely pointless in this game, in all the three days I've been using Zer0 I've not once had a second wind from a shock DOT.

I'm halfway through level 49 with Gaige now, I love the Data Mining quest because I've found you can pretty much run through it and do it in maybe 5-10 minutes, the hard part is activating the valves can be a bit hit or miss for some reason. I'm currently battling problems with my PC though, after about an hour of use it crashes extremely hard and I have to unplug my SSD and plug it back in before I reset it... Oh, here we go, it's crashing!

Edit (from my phone): it's funny, whenever I see Steam stop responding that means the entire PC is about to shut down. Anyway, this is going to make it hard to play so I wouldn't be surprised if my progress slows right down until I figure this out.

There is a vulnerability thing that steam is having issues with. You might be affected with it. While I haven't played at all and hoping to finish before halloween then farm the warrior or doc to get infinity.

I don't think that's it, it seems to be a problem with my SSD. My solution for now is to leave the right side of my PC off (the mostly closed side where the drive connectors are) and have a 40 minute timer on my phone, after those 40 minutes I shut down, unplug, replug the SSD and start all over again. That's how lazy I am. I'll probably order a new SSD tomorrow, but I'll check and make sure it's the SSD by swapping it for a spare XP system I have lying around, it could be the drive controller but as the 2TB drive is seen every time I reboot without fail it seems to be just the SSD as far as I can tell.

I just hit level 50 with Gaige, it took 1 day and 20 hours in total. The very last bit of XP came from killing a Rakk with a Tediore reload after a long fight with some Rockwall Bullymongs, it was pretty awesome.
