This game is so dang addictive. I helped several more friends finish up the campaign over the weekend and started the 2nd playthrough.

The 2nd playthrough unlocks more character dialog, new weapons, new enemies, and is MUCH more challenging. My soldier can throw out 2 turrets. My friend built this soldier the same way and when we are together we throw out 4 turrets! I want to get 4 soldiers together so we can all throw out 8 total turrets.

I gathered 4 players together all around level 35ish in an attempt to take on Terramorphous The Invincible. We tried for almost an hour and never even moved his health gauge. :dunce: I plan to go back with at least 4 level 50s for another attempt eventually. Or maybe even 4 soldiers with 8 turrets.

This is easily my GOTY for 2012 so far. My opinion could change depending on how well Halo 4 does.

I finally picked up my copy yesterday :D Wow this game is so improved from the 1st game. The animations! The fact that you can cut off limbs easily, shoot out legs, and knock over enemies! It is way harder too. Wow I love this game so much.

I had a quick go earlier between my girlfriend leaving and leaving for college myself, I decided that enough was enough, it was time to take on the Animal Exploitation Preserve boss in TVH even though I knew it would be bloody hard doing it solo.

Sure enough, it was a total waste of time and about $100,000 in New-U fees. I'm going to do it co-op with randoms when I get in, or maybe I'll take the time to find elemental immunity shields beforehand.

Or you can do side missions to level your character up. You can check the mission status at the bottom and tells you what level you should be. I think to battle the wilderness level you need to be at least level 20 especially if you go solo. If you have co-op partners you can get by with maybe level 18's but its one heck of a fight. Just make sure you check the level requirement before you enter an area. If it says "hard" its going to be almost impossible solo. Especially the main enemy in that are. That enemy at the end is no joke at all. No spoilers.

I now have 6 characters and my highest character is around 38. Lowest is around 9. I dont care much for the Assassin at all especially when playing co-op. Love the soldier and really love the Siren. The ability to instant revive team mates is a life saver. Same with the ability to throw 2 turrets that have bubble shields.

neema_t Is doing his second play through so it will be like level 45 or something. I'm level 40 and just done something involving Roland (trying not to give spoilers but you know what I mean)

Well that's the thing, the recommended level is 42, I'm level 45! My weapons aren't well suited to that boss though, I have a fire E-Tech SMG with slow bullets, a 55k damage launcher, a slag E-Tech shotgun which basically spits slow globs of slag and a corrosive sniper, so my choices are: short range, slow bullets/rockets or high damage but low rate of fire. I do also have an assault rifle which does 8,000 damage but each shot consumes four rounds and it's a Torgue so the gyrojets are slow as hell, not good for a boss like that.

Also Zer0 works really well with Maya, they compliment each other particularly well I've found. If the Zer0 has a lot of points invested in Bloodshed (all of my points have gone there) he and Maya can use their action skills to decimate a lot of stuff pretty quickly.

Actually I have to say, Decepti0n is crap until you have the last skill in the Bloodshed tree and the one that lets you charge at enemies and do 650% bonus melee damage. With a pile of Badass tokens on melee and crits, a melee booting artefact, a melee boosting class mod, a Law revolver (+100% melee damage) and Order shield (converts melee damage into health), Zer0 is incredible. Actually I'm going to try and work out just how much melee damage my Zer0 does later on.

Ok didnt realize you were on the 2nd playthrough.

Now I think you realize all that melee damage does nothing to an enemy that is flying.

There are quite a few enemies that you cant even get close enough for a melee (no spoilers). So if his main focus is melee, all those points, all that damage, worthless at many points in the game. Honestly the best way to take out that enemy in the wilderness area is a soldier. The turret is by far the most devostating power in the game. Especially if you can throw out 2 turrets per soldier. Each bullet from the turret is 100% accurate and usually shoots at the critical. I will also give you another massive hint. Make sure you slag the enemy.

I like the way deception works. I'm lv 8 and it has saved my life mulitiple times. I'm going the Sniper route though.

Im going in every direction since I like sniping but I also need the health, so I have here and there. Also really getting sick and tired of having eridium but cant do anything with it. just won ANOTHER jackpot of eridium...

I am almost 100% positive they will do something with Eridium in the DLC. The bad news is that the Eridium does not stack. When you hit 99 Eridium, thats it. Any you grab after that is a waste. So now I just leave it sitting around when I find it.

re: Decepti0n - pssh, Salvador's Rampage tree is the way to go. Extended gunzerk duration, 3s additional duration per kill while gunzerking, 3s cooldown per hit every 3s, up to +88% fire rate and +25% reload speed when you keep holding down your fire buttons... dual x13 explosive shotguns makes VERY short work of everything that isn't a boss.

I had no idea I was going to enjoy Gunzerker so much, or he be as good as he is!

^ I still need to dial in his skill tree with that character but yes the gunzerker is a lot of fun. Mine instantly regenerates ammo and health for myself when in gunzerker mode. I believe he also has a class mod that has something like 2.2+ ammo regeneration for the entire team. It is so nice to have at least one gunzerker in the group for the ammo regeneration. As long as there is at least 1 gunzerker, people usually dont run out of ammo. I think my gunzerker is around level 25.

Hard to keep up with all 6 of my characters. I do know I have 2 level 30 sirens now. I already had 1 level 30 siren but started a new one last weekend from level 1 to play with a friend from the beginning of the game. That siren is now already level 30.

Oh yeah I found a gun yesterday that holds over 220 in the clip with slag damage! I believe it is 330 damage and has about an 8.0 fire rate. 220 in the clip!! I have it on my siren but would love to have that gun for my gunzerker. Would be devastating if I could dual wield that. I might put it in my locker for him to use.

I also have an insane sniper gun. It holds 24 in the clip, has corrosion, has a mini gun attachment, over 800 damage per shot, and has an insane fire rate along with over 98% accurate. Even on the 2nd playthrough that gun will melt through almost any enemy robot in one pull of the trigger.

Now I think you realize all that melee damage does nothing to an enemy that is flying.

You'd be surprised how far you can lunge! I managed to melee a Jet Loader earlier on, but yeah, for this one boss it's useless, but I think that's more because you only get one boosted melee attack and if that doesn't get you a kill then you come out of Decepti0n. In the end I joined a co-op lobby, I and three other Zer0s killed it with much, much trouble, but I managed to not actually die once this time! Went into second wind a few times but managed to be a bit smarter than before and injure Skags in anticipation of being incapacitated, then one-shotted them to get back up again.

I think my next playthrough will be with Salvador, I'm starting to reach the last quarter of the second playthrough (in terms of story quests, anyway, I'm about to visit Opportunity for the first time) so hopefully I may be done with it by the end of the week. Just hit level 46 earlier and I'm about 2,000 XP from level 47, I think I'll go do that and some of the discovery Badass challenges to see if I can finish Yo Dawg I Herd You Like Challenges level 4.

I swear the slot machines are there just to annoy me, had 300K spend half got a jackpot! only problem it was eridium 👎 now Im level 42 with the 6.2% xp increase relic should be 50 in no time.

Tonight I decided to host a co-op session, I had three level 50s with me for a while and managed to get up to level 49, but now all my guns feel very underpowered! I used another key and got, as I predicted, stuff that isn't guns; two blue artefacts. That was kind of annoying because I wanted a purple one for the achievement for having a purple item in each slot, but then I turned in a quest and got one anyway.

I have a huge pile of side quests to work through now, for some reason that makes me happy.

lol for more crap in the chest. So far I had guns used a few and still using one right now, that does close to 7K damage sniper. which depending on what person I use it on I can get close to 200K damage.

I have six keys, might use one with my 'zerker tonight. Wonder if I'll get any decent l40 gear

My wife and I play co-op and she used her only key last night and I have 12. We logged on today and she had 1 key and I still had 12. It looks like she will be able to open the chest every time we play co-op together which is every night.:D. Hooray for golden key usage.

Might try to get to at lease level 45 or 46 today. Want to try beating playthrough 2 before the new character so I can start a new game with her.

Excellent news!
Randy Pitchford
So - here's the surprise, Mechromancer for Borderlands 2 is ready about a week earlier than I promised. Oct 9, all platforms. Woo!

Awesome. I just finished our first playthrough with my girlfriend so now we're gonna switch it up, start over going from Zer0 and Maya to Axton and Gaige. Just not gonna mention the whole "girlfriend cladd" fiasco to her. She was saving me a lot more than I was anyway xD. So I'm just hoping she'll have a lot of fun with this new class.

I've been having some difficulty finding a worthwhile sniper rifle lately. Any tips on finding one?

I'm level 15 by the way. Just kind of stuck without a flagship weapon.

You'll end up replacing all your weapons every five levels anyway, there's no such thing as a true 'flagship' gun unless you pick up a few legendaries.

In other news, The Bee is going to be receiving some form of nerf. Pitchford said the upside is fine but the downside is broken - if you don't know what The Bee is, it's a legendary amplifier shield with low capacity, extremely high amp damage and zero drain (alkaline [corrosive immunity] version shown):
The_Bee.png

Given Randy said the upside is fine (high amp damage, no drain) but the downside is not (low capacity, semi-long recharge delay), what sort of nerf does Gearbox have in store? Massively increase the recharge delay so it's similar to a Love Thumper? That way if you get hit you will have no amp bonus for a long time... mind you he also mentioned shotguns, which is referring to the amp bonus being applied to every pellet fired from a shotgun and not the shell - resulting in eight lots of amp bonus per shot for a x8 shotgun etc.

My flagship gun is whatever sniper rifle I happen to favor at the time. Right now I'm rocking an 11-shot Jakobs that does 164 damage, but I'm approaching that with my pistols. My rifle I think is level 11, so I'm kind of jumping at the chance to get this thing replaced with something acceptable. Closest I found was a corrosive Dahl, but I didn't like the burst fire at all.

The best way to find appropriately levelled loot is to find the area that is appropriate for your level... Which is a confusing way of saying that the different areas in the game contain loot of a certain level requirement. Last night I was in the Arid Nexus as a level 48 with another guy who was 47, we were finding level 49 loot. That means the loot level isn't determined by the player level nor the number of players (because I wasn't finding over-levelled loot when I was 46 playing with three 50s) and we were ahead of where we technically should have been. Therefore, go to the area where your current story quest is, find loot chests and hope, I guess. Vending machines in that area and Sanctuary should also contain stuff close to your level.

Also, side quests with weapon rewards will give you a gun of a similar (if not the same) level as the quest itself, so find a side quest of your level with a sniper rifle reward and as long as its not a white weapon you'll probably get something you'll like.

Awesome news about Gaige, I think I'll make an effort to get to level 50/finish the TVH mode story quests and use her tonight. Sad about The Bee, I've not found one (or indeed any orange weapons at all except for one which I didn't take because I was being generous).

Has anyone seen or killed a GOD-liath or Vermiverous (probably spelt that wrong) the Invincible?

well since no one posted it yet so here is the skill tree for the new character

I already planned out that I will be doing the best friends forever tree fully with partial little big trouble

With that low of a level you won't find anything. Once you get into PT2 there are some that are good enough for the long run. Also depends on what skills you have too.

I'm kind of stuck on this one, Best Friends Forever does look like it would make things easier but Ordered Chaos looks interesting, I presume that's the hard mode they were talking about. I'm glad some effort went into these skills and they aren't just 'reskinned' versions of other skills we've seen before, and it's interesting there are so many of them, makes me wonder if the original four will get extra skills as DLC...

I hit level 50 quite easily today just by doing some fairly low-scoring side quests so I've started on Salvador. I've been playing co-op only and have hit level 8 before getting to Sanctuary, but then that's been the case with the three other characters I've got as well so that's hardly remarkable. As always it's kind of disappointing when you start all over again, I've gone from finding >10000 dmg sniper rifles to... 50, 70 if I'm lucky. It's hard to remember what would be considered good!
