Yes, I can make these more challenging by using a "David" car but regardless it still feels like I am basically doing a 3-5 lap time trial with traffic. Even the expert seasonals were the same. I just have to make up x number of seconds past essentially scripted traffic.
A real race would be nice but failing that at least using some imagination in the scenario would be a start.
How about, for example, replicating the final 5 - 10 laps of an endurance race, you have to choose an LMP1 car, you are third or fourth in class, you are half a lap down on the class leader and your tyres are [at the start of the race] partially worn and your fuel MIGHT take you through to the end of the race depending on how much you mash the throttle. Between you and the leader lay 12-13 GT1 cars battling for the lead of their class and 2-3 LMP1 cars from your own class.
Though it is still just chasing the rabbit, it is at least chasing the rabbit with a plausible back story.
Talking of endurance, some longer seasonals (around the length or longer than the current B-Spec expert challenges) would be great as at least then you can have some fun with tyre strategy.
I don't agree with the Op inasmuch as I think there are a lot of fun normal cars to drive in GT5, but I do think that the format of the seasonals - really well described in this post - has become rather predictable and boring.
I would love to see PD shake things up by including things like weather and time changes
in longer races ( like Bspec expert events), add a long overdue, repeatable rally seasonal
so I can use my rally cars to gain xp and cr, manufacturer events, standing starts............ anything but these samey, unimaginative events over & over.
Finally, I really miss the F1 events too
and the Lambo one's would have been awesome with my new Aventador.
Bring 'em back PD 👍
