NOTE: This car was tuned before the latest Ford Challenge but I used the suspension settings as a base for the GT500 550pp tuned already posted. Many of the other settings changed on that tune as it was tuned specifically for Willow Springs. Go to The Touring Car Event and enter Mt. Panorama with this on Racing Hard or any Supercar Festival Event on Sport Softs for some Shelby Fun.
Enjoy!

if i want gray chrome, is "GT6 CHROME 004" fit for muscle cars? Because i confused see this color between purple or gray :odd:
You can, I have 4 Silver/Gray chrome chips but 3 of them came with the 15th AE. Personal preferrence, if you like it, use it.:):)

I like the 009-N.

Hi bowtie... will you be the first to tune buick special?
;) Nobody do it. That is beautiful car.
I just may, have not gotten to it yet but I do have it in my garage. Let me see what I can do this weekend. FITT testing starts next week and I signed up for it, more testing less tuning, so I have to get in what I can before that.
And I want to do some testing for the car of the month as well. So much to do, so little time. Will try though.

Checked my tuning sheet (notes) and the position is at 0. Should have just left the @ out and only had the ballast amount. Fixed now, thanks for pointing it out. :)
But since you already reviewed the tune and painted it pink, I give you a :P.

What can I say about this car. Easy to drive, good turn in and rotation and easy to get the power down. Comfortable and quick too. Bravo sir.

Review: Stable tune and felt comfortable in the car. Slight understeer from mid to exit it nothing major. Gearing took me a few laps to get used to. Nice job!

by Bowtie-muscle:

Bowtie-muscle
Lap time - 1.:17.234 - DC - 9.2

Will not say much about my own tune other than I think it is one of the 3 best I have submitted for FITT challenges, and like the other 2, will not win. A touch more understeer thru the sweepers than I remembered and I did not match my best time during testing. I do believe it is one of the easiest to drive and be consistent with but I will let others be the judge of that.

by DolHaus:

@@Bowtie-muscle – 1:17.743

DC - 7.5

Didn't have any major problems but it didn't excel anywhere either. The car seemed to have a slight delay between steering input and the car reacting, I can only put this down to the soft rear springs slowing the weight transfer. It wasn't a major problem but took a few laps to get used to and could make the car tricky to save when I got it wrong. Brakes and transmission seemed fine, didn't really notice any problems there apart from maybe 2nd and 3rd being a bit far apart. All in all it was fairly competent but just too safe to be fast, a decent race tune perhaps.

by fourevaboostin:

@@Bowtie-muscle =1:17.734 DC:8..5-it took me no time to grab a feel for this cars configuration. gearing was perfect for the long sweep of turn 2 and it kept me solidly on the racing line. braking on deceleration was easily predictable which played a big part on my ability to brake late on turns 3 and 5. weight distribution was a key to this cars great rotation.

by ImToLegitToQuit:

@@Bowtie-muscle 1:17.386 DC-8 very safe car. not bad at all, and not in an understeery kind of way. it was safe in an inspiring confidence kind of way. I could have put a lap together in the 16's if i had more control over the wheelspin. a few clicks here and there and this would have been much faster for me. I do believe that in it's current form it is a better car for the masses though. nice job.

You can have the Camaro keys if you want.. It was tuned with the Z06 in mind.. well, i hope its near the standard of the Z06. On another point, just reading through your tune, you have gone a different direction in your suspension but it looks good on paper. Best of luck when this tune is tested!

See if it pays off, maybe, maybe not. I think I am getting too far away from the norm lately. Might not be good.

NOTE: As much as I do not like using Racing Tires on street cars, I do like adding flat floor and turning them into "Touring Cars". This was intended to compete with 530-550pp Touring cars, even though this car does not really need to have the flat floor to handle well. Adding it does act just like having downforce and that is why I installed. Tested at Twin Motegi full course.

Nice 👍 that is where I run my "Touring Car" creations. Fun and I need to get better at Mount Panorama :embarrassed:
Although I do tune them elsewhere first.:dopey:

👍 The car is great, handles the track bumps superbly, despite being a low car... I'll be testing it on the other races of 550PP WTC to see how it does...

And between the COTM reviews, i'll try building the "Shelby TC" and take it for a spin on MT.Panorama... :)

NOTE: This is a real tricky car to tune and drive, but when you get it right it can be fun. Throttle control and patience with the throttle are a major benefit. I found early braking and rolling thru the corners works better than trail braking or hammering throttle early. Tuned at Laguna Seca, consistent low 1:31.xxx lap times. Will also run at Willow Springs, this means it can be used for Tour of America allowing you to grab some funds! Did not try at Indy Road Course, might not work as well with those slower corners. If you try, please feel free to share your thoughts.

Thanks for looking and Good luck!

Personally, I would've preferred PD include the original showroom version rather than this SEMA example.
It looks like the rear suspension has collapsed :odd: :yuck:

Thanks for trying to make it driveable anyway :) 👍

I feel like I want to take the rear ride height and jack it up all the way but the handling is horrible if you do. Really do not like that slammed rear look, but some do.....oh well, to each their own I suppose. I made it drivable to a point, do not push too hard though :scared:

NOTE: This car was tuned before the latest Ford Challenge but I used the suspension settings as a base for the GT500 550pp tuned already posted. Many of the other settings changed on that tune as it was tuned specifically for Willow Springs. Go to The Touring Car Event and enter Mt. Panorama with this on Racing Hard or any Supercar Festival Event on Sport Softs for some Shelby Fun.
Enjoy!

She is a heavy weight who likes to go really fast in a straight line, cornering can never be as responsive as the nimble NSX.:) Hope you enjoyed earning some cash while driving those bad boys.

You are missing a part to get to the correct stats on the car, leaves the car 26HP underpowered. Intake tuning might help with that. :D Review to come when I get through the Focus Challenge. Good luck. 👍
