The bigger question Imo would be, what percentage of paying/playing customers actually comes to this forums and would participate in this boycott??

Not playing won't change anything. Prize money is scaled down to create a market for in-game currency micro-transactions, an inevitable side-effect of having MTs in the first place. The only effective way to stop that is for gaming consumers to boycott MTs but while those that can, vote with their credit cards, the problem will continue. Sad but true.

Not playing won't change anything, even if the player numbers fall off of a cliff, the game has already done it's job:

Rave reviews + First week sales.

Also, I highly doubt PSN will be issuing refunds in response to emails of complaint.

The problem is that us who want to boycott the game for this microtransaction nonsense were never in the market for microtransactions anyway. If everyone who hates microtransactions stops playing, their income from microtransactions remains exactly the same. And that is the only thing they care about.

Sadly this is 100 % true!!!

I never bought any MTX in any game and won't ever support shady business-tactics like this.
But if all gamers would think and act that way, we wouldn't have those abominations in so many games nowadays.

So for me the saddest part is, that "we gamers" are responsible for MTX to a substantial amount.

I think the complaining is enough, and I mean that sincerely. I always support the consumer wanting more.

But no, they already got my money so I don't think a boycott would help. I don't buy microtransactions either. When a game's grind is so unbearable that it makes the game not fun, that's when I put the game down. So far, I'm not there yet.

If you want gamers to regain control of the situation, you need to start further back.

Do not pre-order
Do not buy on launch day
Do not buy digital only

... and for those with more patience

Do not buy until any bugs acknowledged in the first month or two are fully patched.

... and crucially, having waited to give yourself the best idea of what you're spending your money on, don't buy it if there's something big you don't like.

Caveat Emptor.

I know a man who has already spent 200 Euros in game for cars so I think he is the target for polyphony.

We are useless for them

If you compare lets say 10 milion credits for

a) 100 euros - one guy will buy legendary car
b) 10 euros - 10 guys will buy legendary cars.

If 10 times more people have access to a legendary car, it is not more such an legendary car, right? Someone who want's to pay will pay, even if the price is high.

The guy who paid EUR for the cars feels unique because "he has them and others not".

He used to pay 500 EUR monthly on microtransactions in GTA Online and some weird mobile game for years.

Don't boycott. Start a review bomb.

I'd definitely recommend that people get on any review site they can and leave a fair review (not just bombing it with a 0 score) of the game taking into account the updated rewards. It's also worth replying to any social post they make voicing your concerns. Plenty of prospective buyers will check the social media accounts of the game or the review aggregation sites like Metacritic before buying and if they see enough replies or reviews calling out the problems they may re-think their purchase decision.

It may not help much at this stage as they've already sold a lot of copies but it's all you can really do when they don't have a proper method for giving feedback.

Impatient people demanding that they progress faster than they already are. Right. Sadly, this is what we are as a society nowadays. Everything has to be unlocked as fast as possible and if it can't be done in a reasonable amount of time, it is not worth it.
Good luck with your boycott and good luck finding mates to support you.
However, the game will be around with us for a few years. The UCD and LCD will offer the cars again in a while. There will be plenty of time to complete the car collection. There's really no need to rush.

Wow, we sure live in a society...

Now let's spend 20 hours repeating the same race just to afford one car. That's normal.

I'm not going to boycott as I want to play the game, but I'm also not going to buy micro transactions. I'm bored completely of the offline races, chase the rabbit isn't fun but I love the competitiveness of sport. I'm happy to grind enough to buy a GT4 & GT3 of choice and a few other cars to enjoy Race A, B & C and take part in lobbies.

I did the maths on some of the purchases using the figures from the latest patch and ran them by a few of my colleagues who have been in the games industry for a long time (between 5-30 years). Every one of them thought I was joking. That's how wildly out of balance they now are.

Based on what we've seen on GTP today I'd expect a lot of Zero scores, poorly worded rants and ALL CAPS!!11! reviews...

... the kind of review most rational people ignore.

Yep, that's exactly why you don't post those. Although I can see the advantage of trying to bring the score down as quickly as possible I think in the long run it's better to leave an actual review.
