This is one amazing shot man. The blur is perfect. And the little glows look nice. Maybe a little too many for my taste. But it's such a beautiful picture you made. Thanks for that! :)

Very nice blur job on your Skyline shot, it works well at that location with those colours. I'm not a big fan of all of those spots all over the car though, I think the Viper had just the right amount and they have been a bit overdone this time round.

A very clean shot, i love the reflections of the scenery on the car.
Great shot:tup:

Nothing too special, just a shot pretty straight forward ;)

Very beautiful!!! Good detail fo the car mate, and really cool colors. Well done:)

Wow, very nice update Ultra 👍
One thing I did notice (Because the camera is low to the ground), the ground textures on the bottom left of the screen should probably have been blurred a little stronger, while the track walls on the opposite side of the track should have been blurred less.

It's not like I do that on my entries, but it's just something I thought of then. :sly:
Bloody good entry overall. Don't think it's 'nothing special'. 👍

Looks like a 440charger shot imo. (cause of the rims and a great blur). The cleanness of the car looks great in the small version but in fullsize some reflections on the hood still remain a little jaggy. But how you said: "straight forward shot"... that's what it is and it's damn great too! 👍

Wow, you've really nailed this whole pic clean-up business... The Viper pic is superb, looks like a screen shot from GT5 👍

Very clean RUF 3400s. I am loving the rims and the sky looks great. 👍

It's a very nice shot overall, the composition is excellent and the colours are nice and bright and cheerful, which sort of reminds me of summertime driving. But I'm fed up of seeing those rims to be honest. I've never understood why 440 uses them on almost every shot because it gets very tiring seeing them all the time.

Amazing shot all around. The only thing I would have done is add a bit more noise to the road.

Daaaamn! Very very nice! I guess you're using the lasso tool to remark all reflections... spectacular reflections. I usually hate that kind of angles in photomode, but then doesn't seem so forced. A pure 440 style 👍

A very beautiful picture, it gives good perspective and a amazing sense of speed, a truly amazing update!

I like the way you got the blur, and the white halo-thing in the sky, really makes the track and the car stand out.

Car's reflections are caught pretty well, only thing I dislike are the headlights, they seem too bright for the angle the sunlight is hitting the car.

But really good, nonetheless. :)

Looks good Ultra. I think maybe there is a little too much noise in the shot, but it seems to give it a little bit more realism. And I think that maybe you saturated the shot a little bit too much, and that is causing some banding and discoloration. But it still looks good. It's just that it could be a little bit better. And I like the rims no matter what Moglet says!:)

I just think those rims enhance the shot so much. I don't know why, I just really like them. It adds detail.👍

Thanks for all the feedback guys 👍 I'll never get tired of those rims to be honest, I just love 'em. These are easily the most interesting rims to use in Photoshop as well :dopey: Any way, the road is especially oversaturated but I couldn't add noise to it as alot of noise would just pack up and not be blurred towards the center of the shot. Should I fix this with smudge, it would just look crappy and not straight towards the vanishing point so I went with PD's road 👍

Very clean shot there, great blur. Maybe it'd be better if the reflections on the car wouldn't be yellow, but that's maybe just me. Good job overall!👍

nice shot! not very fond of the wheels in stand still, but they sure look great on a blurred state, the colors are awesome. the grass though could of been blurred a bit more. overall the pic looks great!!

The colours are great, but I'm just not feeling that the photo is at it's fullest. Don't get me wrong, I love the PD 'Chromies' and how they work with the photo but I've enjoyed better from you.

And I like the rims no matter what Moglet says!:)

I just think those rims enhance the shot so much. I don't know why, I just really like them. It adds detail.👍

Whatever floats your boat ;) I just tend to think they look a bit stupid is all. Imagine seeing those wheels on a real RUF 3400S! :yuck:

Thanks for the feedback, still a mystery why so many of you think they're ugly :odd:

Anyway, I'm searching for some cool rims and a cool car for the finals in the Tournament, I was actually not too happy with my Monaro and I want to do better...

Cleaning the car

This tutorial starts after we have blurred our picture. The next step will not be colour adjusting but cleaning, soon, you'll see why. Basically, one can deside the car's reflections themselves. Moglet for example uses a method which gives the car a more clean in general look while for example 440 CHARGER uses a method to accentuate reflections. To start, look at your picture to see what has to be done to it, then, begin to select areas with your polygonal lasso tool and then, simply go to Filters-> blur filters-> lens blur. Apply it and go select the next area. Now, before you go to the next area, you can decide wether you want this reflection to stand out alot to catch the eye or just having it normal. If you opted for the first option, you must decide wether this reflection is lighter or darker then the surrounding reflections. If for example a lighter reflection is on the right but a darker on the left, simply run your dodge tool over the edge where it meets the darker reflection and run the burn tool over the edge where it meets the lighter reflection. A good example is the hood on the Monaro posted above. The original hood was plain but as you see, I used dodge around a lighter reflection in a way that the reflection seems to be a change in depth between the reflections on its both sides. If a reflection is filled with different colours and you still want it plain as possible, apply a surface blur first, followed by a smart blur and finally lens blur, as these filter can be found at filters-> blur filters. Do this over the whole car to either get a result where you accentuate the reflections or if you want a plain, clean car.

After cleaning, door lines...

After you are done with cleaning up the whole car, it's time to clean up all of the body lines. The reason you don't do this before cleaning the car, is that the lens blur will destroy your cleaned lines. Anyway, to clean one, simple select on with the polygonal lasso and fill it with a black colour but no more then 50%, otherwise, you will exagorate these lines. Do not select them to wide or they will no longer look realistic. After these lines are fill, select the outer side and run the dodge tool over it untill you're happy with how it looks. The key is where you will dodge these lines. If the line is vertically, you will dodge it on the outer side according to the camera, if the line is to the right of the camera, you will dodge it on the right side of the line as well. Is it to the left of the camera, like in the Monaro shot, dodge it on the left side. If these lines are horizontally, always dodge them on the side underneath the lines. Try to dodge as close as possible on the edge of the door, hood, etc. line and try to keep it as thin as possible whilst still keeping it enough to being noticed.

After all the cleaning...

It is time to adjust all of your colours, the reason why doing this afterwards is that it gives a even more accentuated look to your reflections. Moat people clean after adjusting so that they are sure nothing looks jagged. But if somethings gets jagged while adjusting, you can easily fix this by using the smudge tool. If some parts are getting too bright or oversaturated, you can simply select them with your poygonal lasso tool and adjust these parts on their own. All of this is up to you, how you want to have it.

After adjusting...

We're almost done with our picture actually. The things that you can do are these:

- Adding a noise filter to the picture, not more then 2%
- Accentuate lines and/or reflections with the dodge tool and/or brush tool (*)
- Copy 2 layers; one with a median filter on it (opac. 20%) while on the other one a gaussian blur (opac. 10%, 5,0% blur)
- Apply an unsharp mask to your picture
- Adding borders, etc.

* This method which has become "famous" lately is a handy way to let some lines or reflections be noticed extra. Simply grab your brush or dodge tool, set the bruh or dodge size to "1", 100% pressure and keep clicking untill the pixel(s) where you are clicking on are completly white. Then to finish, dodge these out to the sides to create the effect.

interesting. how do you clean up a texture that, when you zoom in looks more like mud splater than shading?

Same way, you just make more bends in the reflection. When the reflection is straight, you can easily make an S-shape throughout that reflection simply by using the dodge tool 👍
