I understand you having had all you can take of the worthless ****, but could you find nowhere else to send him?

It's been 245 years. I think it's time to move on.

Do we have an uncorking champagne emoji? Guess his dissing that tennis girl was the final straw. I'm surprised they didn’t include Andrew Neil in a twofer deal.

You could always throw him in Boston Harbour...

So long as this doesn't mean we get Bieber back you can keep him.

I actually wrote a song about Piers last year, that’s how much I detest him. Well, kind of based on him and those like him.

(Language warning in song)

Shout about
when men were men
Didn’t do it
this way back then

What
Are
You
Scared
Of

Hate what you
don’t understand
Don’t have to worry
Cause you’re a man

What
Are
You
Scared
Of

Pink man
Small mind
Pink man
Small mind

Kick and scream til you’re pink in the face
It’ll do you no good
It’s gammon for gammon
The law of the land
you’re dropping like flies
and Piers, you’re ****ing next
You’re ****ing next

Don't get too excited.

Firstly, Fox News is available in the UK anyway. Secondly...

He's not going anywhere, sadly.
To be honest I don't watch those channels (or visit that website). I'm glad his baleful influence over the broadcast-watching masses has been diminished, though. Every cloud has a silver lining and it's an ill wind that blows no one any good.

Selfish idiots have emptied all the petrol stations in our area in a few hours, because of panic buying.

Not sure what the nurses etc etc are supposed to do when they get off their 14 hour shift and find the pumps are dry...!

Bloody toilet rolls all over again.

Makes me fume! (pun not intended but realised as I typed it!)

As of Sunday evening not one petrol station i drove past in Sheffield had diesel. A couple had unleaded but they also had huge queues. I was down to under a qtr tank on Saturday morning and needed to drive up to York. Had to go 8 miles out of the city before i found somewhere with diesel, and even then it took me 20 minutes to get to a pump. It's ridiculous!

As far as I've read, there wasn't a short of petroleum products, just not enough drivers to lump it about. So a run on the pumps depleting current reserves actually... has created a petroleum shortage and a lorry driver shortage.

I can't think of it but I'm sure there must be an old metaphor about creating your own avoidable problems; inaction and normal behaviour would have been fine but doing anything has completely effed it.

Most people probably wouldn't have noticed this was happening and then panicked and rushed out to bleed all the petrol stations dry if the BBC wasn't giving rolling news coverage of it.
To be fair it's all over every news channel and newspaper.

I know he's only doing his job, and legally has to, but the defence barrister for Sarah Everard's murderer arguing he shouldn't receive a whole-life order because "there are worse crimes" (and they are specifically named in WLO legislation, along with a provision for other crimes of that magnitude if a judge deems it necessary)... kinda sickens.

Anyway, he has a whole-life order for:
  • Using his position as a police officer to:
    • Falsely arrest Sarah Everard
    • Imprison Sarah Everard
  • Her kidnap
  • Her rape
  • Her murder
  • Dumping and burning her corpse

Apparently when arrested (and there was CCTV footage of him "arresting" her), he claimed an Eastern European gang made him kidnap her and give her to them because he'd "ripped off" one of their escorts.

And now we have to have the discussion about how solitary members of the public should respond when detained by a solitary police officer. So thanks for that, you utter ****.

One positive about being in Britain is that we get to see Bond films a whole week before the US...
Now, where did I park that car again...?

"Couzens, who had been a police officer since 2002, transferred to the Met in 2018 from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, where he had worked since 2011. He passed vetting checks.

Assistant Met Commissioner Nick Ephgrave admitted a vetting check on Couzens was not done correctly when he joined the Met.
It meant a link to an incident of indecent exposure in Kent in 2015, involving a vehicle linked to Couzens, was missed.

Though AC Ephgrave said that even if it had come up in the vetting process, it would not have changed the outcome as Couzens was not named as a suspect.

Around 72 hours before Ms Everard's abduction, Met Police officers received a separate allegation of indecent exposure which also identified the vehicle involved, registered to Couzens."

Police officers should have no power unless in uniform. Go on, give em a clap.

Police officers should have no power unless in uniform. Go on, give em a clap.
That's really difficult to impose, because then you have to specify exactly what that uniform is, and suddenly you open up the door to countless wrongful arrest opportunities (i.e. they weren't wearing a hat, it wasn't buttoned correctly, the footwear was incorrect)

Ah, today we have a terribly British answer to that age-old question: quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Bus rectoribus custodiant custodes.

Serious point:
Everything about the Everard case is absolutely revolting.

Cynical point:
Problem with police officers? Just phone the police!
