My brother's YLOD'ed about a month ago.
A couple of hours, a heat gun and some thermal paste and it's working beautifully again.
Just look up some repair videos on youtube or something

Hate to pour cold water on the idea but i did the same thing with my fatty ps3 picked up a heat gun wonder kit off of Ebay. Sure it worked but after 2/3 months wammo the YLOD was back.:ouch: Not saying its not worth a go though or am i.:lol::dopey:

Pretty much.

I can still be on the forums and most probably do points, but whether I want to actually race or not, I don't know. It's still early days and the season doesn't end until March, so I may well show my face a couple of times this season.

I'll add the latest info to the OP.

Thats what I've been reading. I'll be happy to just keep repairing every 3 months until PS4. Im just wondering how I end up with ylod in the first place. I provide a sufficient air supply and treat her well. Maybe dust buildup clogging vents?

Lol exactly what i said when my fatty went, i almost thought i'd tried to hard to look after the thing always took the Dyson to the vents of mine.:crazy: Bottom line i guess is nowts built to last forever why would it be.:grumpy:

Possibly 2 by the looks of it ;)

So who's actually in charge now? I need to confirm if Jack's going to be racing or if I'm gonna run as a Indy again.....
