Rolo im gonna make a small start with the list would you consider any different cars if we can balance them? I know your hearts set on traditional BTCC cars of the past or present but maybe having balanced close cars should be objective no1?💡 Just let me know before i waste too much time its just a thought.:lol:

I was thinking of that for Season 5, if I'm honest. Voting in 2 or 3 'wildcard' cars that don't fit the bill, if you see. I'm all about balancing and competitiveness too for this season, within the restraints you mentioned.

See how you get on with the list for now. It's pretty long so we can lose a couple easily if they're not good enough. If times aren't really close enough, have a fiddle with the weight spec (but try to keep the figures as simple as possible, otherwise checks will get long once the season begins). Not sure about altering the power, I don't see it changing anything. Can always drop cars if it really isn't working. I did most of my running during Season 2, which was of course pre-updates, so things may well have changed since then.

If things are REALLY not working then I can always bring that planned vote forward 👍

I think I will put the season back a week, just to allow us some more time.

It's not going to be that hard, if some cars are too slow you can knock 10kgs off them at a time etc until they are closer. Then the usual checks of highest weight to lowest. Also vise versa if some cars are too fast ;).

I dont think Rolo wants shed loads of different specs the way he has it now is way easier to understand. FF 1200 FR 1400 305 bhp results simple checks.

@ Rolo no bother thought i might be wasting a morning waiting your response.:dopey::lol: Ive only tested GVE really and things other than the BMW 330i dont seem to bad early days.👍
 
The only deviation from that at the moment is the Lexus, which is 1300kg.

I doubt there will be that many out of the cars on the grid when the season begins, so any 10kg weight differences will be reasonably easy to do checks with.

I don't really have the time or real consistency though to take 10kg off a car each time and make it make a lot of difference.

The formula last season (minus the Audi of course) was reasonably good. With the right drivers (and tracks) all of the FF cars could have won races (and many did). My only bone of contention last season (minus the Audi), was that perhaps the BMWs needed a little more weight. That said, that 330 has been fine-tuned over 3 whole seasons now, and was driven by guys who excel in FR cars. Other guys who've come in and used the Beemer have often been slower.

The base specs are pretty good, it's just that there may need to be some tweaks here and there. As Paul says, maybe a 10kg here or there, each way. It might take 50kg though before anything major happens.

Team V8 Turbo Statement

After some rather frosty chat around the boardroom table this morning the drivers of Team V8 turbo along with the CEO of BMW have decided to cancel the pre contract agreement.
Drivers V8-Johnboy and Gedi69 have felt very uneasy recently about the uncertain future surrounding the BMW fleets specifications. We therefore announce we are currently jetting out to Japan to tie up final negotiations with the mighty TAXI firm Mazda. So if you would be so kind Rolo please start the meter and book V8 Turbo 2 seats in a Mazda tbd.👍

Not tested, I ran the Mazda (Premium Atenza) in a previous BTCC series, looks great with the BBS rims and the splitter/wing.

Still not ran yet, still deciding on a car to run!

OK done, which Mazda is that?

Will send a Civic in the morning if I remember, if not then late tomorrow night. Perfectly willing to cap the Civic's weight if necessary.

With a setup tweek ive just managed a 109.769 typical lap 110.1/2.

Heck, I'll take another run in the 330i with Team Essex Invest. Won't be running any enduros though (and imo those shouldn't be necessary) :)
