We should setup a date and time for GTP NA to do some pub stomping. How does next saturday the 20th work? Do you guys need more time to prepare?
 
I would need some time to prepare. I have played Black Ops for an entire hour so far since picking the game up on Tuesday. I would still play though if you needed a person.
 
I'm right around 5 hours played right now. My K/D is a paltry 1.75 right now and I haven't learned everything about the bigger maps yet but overall I'd say I'm doing alright so far. I hate WMD but I can play well on most other maps.

The silenced Galil is a beastly weapon. I just started using it and two of my last three games I was MVP with it. I like it even more than the silenced Famas and that is a good weapon already.
 
I'm happy to party up anytime. I'm working on making Cody get the game too...

Compared to 800,000, 6 months into NW2's life. The numbers of players online are low compared to what I remember in MW2.
I prefer BlackOps to MW2, my k/d is almost identical between the 2 which I can't say for many of my friends who took huge dips.
The spawns however, are truly terrible in BO.
 
I played the campaign for about an hour and a half earlier today before going to a basketball game tonight. I will probably be on after tonight's Thunder game to play the campaign some more.
 
So what killstreaks are you guys using? I changed from the default setup to something like SAM Turret, Care Package, and Chopper Gunner, I think.
 
I'm using Spy Plane, Care Package, Blackbird most of the time, which seems to work just fine for me and helps the team out massively in getting their own air support. I was considering buying some more high stuff but people are improving at the game now so I can't waltz all over them with past knowledge of COD anymore as my dropping KDR reflects.

I had my first go at sniping today and it's really not bad at all, I just wish I could have been using the L96 instead of the Dragunov (2 more levels and that'll change). Then in my second game of sniping I pulled out akimbo 1911s which are great fun, hopefully I can render a couple of clips as there was a pretty amusing matrix dodge with the dolphin dive I pulled off after jumping off a balcony towards the enemy :lol:.
 
Akimbo guns just don't work for me. I'd rather use an extended mag. Does Warlord Pro let you have a second attachment on a secondary gun too? If that's the case I'll be putting suppressors on my pistols also. I noticed the last pistol (CZ something) has way more recoil than the 1911 and Makarov. The 1911 has almost none and works great at dropping people quickly.

Anyone gonna be on tonight?
 
The RC car is getting on my nerve, seem like I only got blow up when I'm 1 away from a good killstreak :banghead:

Without Steady Aim, I find them useless for the most part, but with Steady Aim you can get some awesome kills and it's really fun. Here's a quick snippet of my 1911s from a game on Jungle.

 
Played about 1 and a half hours of campaign today, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it :)
 
So everybody online SUCKS. And if Nuketown comes up, you will be stuck playing there until you leave that lobby. Seriously. These people vote for that map 10 times in a row.
 
Warlord pro gives you an extra lethal and special grenade. I haven't bought it yet but soon as I do I picture getting lots of triples and quads on nuketown.
 
I just had a ball messing around with the private match perk/killstreak/ classes for our game. You can even get gold camo in this game :). You can run about 5x faster than normal which means you can run up ramps and do humongous dive to prone jumps :D.
 
Is the gold camo what you unlock at prestige 14 or is that something else? I unlocked camo yesterday and I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more customization. Some of the camos are cool but there is only the one tiger stripe.
 
I'm a tad bit amazed that there's over 1,000 years of time already put into the game. I assuming that's across Xbox, PS3, and computer, yea? That's amazing.

I bought the Galil yeasterday and don't see myself ever going to anything else. All I need is the extended mag and It's pretty much unstoppable. I set up my 3rd kill streak to be the RC XD so I could see why everyone has it, and at first I hated it. It is now awesome, but I'm not going to use Hardline. I like to chase enemy RCs down and blow them up, just to make them mad. It's pretty easy to get kill streaks it seems since I get all three of mine every game. And te RC and Air Drop I usually get 2 or 3 a game.
 
I'm amazed that according to the stats the total amount of kills on this game so far is equal to (probably more now) 0.40% of the worlds population.
 
So apparently some of the lag issue is being causes by the constant friend updates. If you have a bunch of people on your friends list its going to lag your connection because you will be constantly sending and receiving information. I'm sure there will be a patch out for this shortly but for the time being I've deleted most of my friends list.

Does extremely well in hallways, that's it. AUG works well, too.

And who the "F" is the bald, scientist guy in "Five"? Mother flipper teleported us apart from each other, and took our primaries. The hell am I supposed to defend myself with the RPG?

That's the Pentagon thief, the trophy "Hands Off the Merchandise" is for killing it before it can steal your load-out.

I couldn't believe that one day after the game came out people had prestiged 2500 times ...

Anyways, I love this game so far.
- I love the fact that you can turn off aim assist in MP (it always gets me killed).
- I miss being able to adjust player voice volume (aka set it to minimum for a perma-mute :)).
- Being able to take a split screen session online is great but it has some bugs because my friend and his brother were split-screen and I tried to go online with them in a party and it always dropped one of us.

Time_Attack, the lag you are talking about is that net lag or just poor framerates? Because my game seems to really stutter framerate-wise sometimes online but I have not had too much lag. Lots of disconnects though.

Not sure, I just watched a video about it earlier. I haven't been online just yet to see how much it helps out but I've gotten my friends list down to just 13 people most of which don't have B-O so I'll make sure to post if its any better.
 
I don't think there's a lag problem with friends, I assume you (TA) mean PS3 and my list is 90+ almost full yet I have experienced one instance of connection interrupted and no flat out lag.

On another note I finished the campaign on Veteran yesterday before heading online, it's not really difficult as expected though it's far from a walk in the park. The frequency of checkpoints generally means you get along ok as with the other CODs on Veteran. The story is decent overall though the campaign in general is very much constant action that's not really a problem and keeps you moving from place to place regularly.
 
First few days Black Ops ran fine with no issues whatsoever. Then they applied the patch and now at the beginning of ever round it says I have no internet connection when I do. So I then have to restart the client sometimes steam will crash so I may have to restart that. Or a few times I've had to restart my computer. I've gotten 1.5 levels in the last 2 days because I can't play more then half a round (you never join in at the start of one.) I have no issues until the start of the next round on the new map. I have no issues in Zombies, Campaign or the practice with bots. I have no lag or anything no game freezing or crashing just steam thinking I have no internet connection at the start of every round.
 
I've been getting a fair few connection interrupted errors tonight. Also it took me ages to join uk86ze, I really hope they sort out party issues soon.

I get the feeling that this game is trying too hard, I mean take the stats for example. Really? Does anyone really need that many statistics.

I like the statistics. Its actually one of the reasons I really enjoyed Battlefield 2, looking past the fact that it was a terribly made game that was coded wrong and needed a virtual exterminator to get rid of the cockroach infestation. Same with BF: Vietnam. 1942 was the only well made one of the serious. Which isn't really a surprise because look at most popular series. The worse they get the more popular they get. Need for Speed, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, World of Warcraft, Command and Conquer etc.. I excluded Halo from the list because while the first one was the best, the whole series is terrible.

I think to this day the most fun online game I've ever played was Soldner: Secret Wars. Man was that game fun with the infinite amount of ways to kill a person and the world destruction was awesome. A million weapons, vehicles, tanks, apcs, jets, helicopters, trucks, boats, planes, cars. Ahh more games need to be like that. It also had a very friendly community.

I hate that. I get stuck on Nuketown or Havana for several consecutive matches. What makes it worse is that I really don't like the Havana map, but at least 5 other people in the game lobby seem to think it's a great level so they keep voting for it 👎
 
The only GTP members I think I deleted would be one or two GTP EU members I may have had but never played with.

I only have the one ethernet cable for my computer and PS3 so the only time you'll see me online on the PS3 is when I'm actually playing online. Otherwise I don't bother to switch the cable over if I'm just playing solo.
