I just played the Home Front Demo..I want Battle Field :lol: After a few matches, I get this message" Your a good sniper"
 
I won't be buying battlefield 3. I didn't like bad company 1 or 2. I loved modern combat though. That is the game that got me into online FPS way back on the PS2.

I have no idea if I finished top in any game. The first game I played with you last night was a complete departure from when I was playing with G8R before South Park. Before watching South Park, it was absolutely brutal; I could not keep my sights on target at all. Going even or slightly positive was a fantastic game. After South Park and the first game with you, I went with a class that has the SCAR-H and AA-12 and both worked incredibly well, especially the AA-12. I may need to start playing my first few games with the same class, as the SCAR-H/AA-12 combination has gotten me out of a funk twice in the past week.

When you guys started talking about South Park or something, I thought you guys were some hardcore nerds. It was really weird to see two guys who barely know each other, online, then start talking about random cartoon like "hey man, how was the show?". I'm not gonna lie, I was little taken. I needed the 30 minute break too. I was playing absolutely terrible and was becoming quite frustrated.

Yeah, SCAR & AA12 is a very strong combo IMO. You give me that set up, I should be able to play with it on any map. I almost want to try it myself, as that was my favorite load out when I first started playing, but with my game finally coming back, I'd be afraid to mess around more than I have to. :D

Brett was messaging me last night while I was trying to download the GT5 update. I had to ignore it.

I'll be on black ops this weekend with the new maps and double xp. You invite me for MW2 and I'll invite you for that. We'll see what happens after next.

All weekend starting tomorrow morning 10am PST. I'm gonna be up late tonight waiting for the map pack to drop. Probably play some Zombies first and then hit up some multiplayer after that.

I ended up playing some tonight, and while it was solo: 1) I got to enjoy some of the map pack maps that I've been missing. 2) I had fun.

Even when my team was getting ran over(think k/d lower than .10), I was able to finish the game with k/d in excess of 3 or 4. Azuremen is right about what he said other night though. Everybody is playing this game like a-holes. It's unbelievable. Everybody bickering, DC-whoring is pretty much a norm now.

Spent 3-4 hours tonight with the M240, didn't like it at first, but once I had the Grip on it, it was really good. I think I prefer it to the HBAR. Fairly good night for me, up about 50 kills over deaths.

I'm all set to try and get things fixed. Going to spend tomorrow taking my time to get everything right and hopefully I'll be up and running in the evening some time. I'll run updates on everything that needs it and back up the important things before I get back to playing, but it looks like I might be able to join up for some night time noob killing if everything goes to plan.

Right on Broseph. We played again tonight, but we stopped to watch the NBA Finals. It would be so nice to have the old crew back!(or at least some of the old crew back lol)
 
Yea, it's going to be nice to play again. I'm going to ease into it though to start, I don't want to run the PS3 too hard after the repair. Nice thing is there's a vent for the AC right near where I have the PS3 set up. I'm going to have a fan there blowing the cold air across it so hopefully it stays cool. Also going to keep it laying down instead of standing up like it was to hopefully lessen the shifting of the internals that caused the YLoD in the first place.
 
Sorry guys. It was going to be my last game anyway, then I got Commando Pro'd twice, I was done. I got knifed a lot today, and every single one, I was firing my assault rifle or light machine gun, full-auto at them. I lost way more than I won. Go me.
 
Speaking of knifing, it would not hurt my feelings if it were completely removed or made to be something needed to be switched to, to make use of. Panic knives are likely in my Top 3, if not top, deaths by in MW2 (I think number one death by in Black Ops).

Just look at how often the final kill cam is a knife :p

Really, just needs to be like in CS, where you have to hit twice from the front with the slow attack, but only once from the back. This rewards stealthy play more and lets you deal with someone after you've almost killed them but clip emptied, etc. And would reduce the idiotic power of runners.

This Penny Arcade write up and the comic that goes with it are pretty good about how most people feel about the game. Also, language warning.
 
That's a great solution, Cody. Be interesting to see what they do for MW3, I'm hoping for some better characteristics for the weapons online. It's really silly on MW2 and just annoying. It's a bit of a basic to not let players snipe with SMGs. I still enjoy MW2, but it really gets on my tits at times with how predictable it can be, opposiing team all on UMP, etc.

Though a week or so back the other team had all guys using Riot Shields, on Derail! That was funny.

In my mind the fix for the knifing foolishness is rather simple, if you are hit with a bullet from any direction prior to actually landing a knife hit, that bullet hit should immediately disrupt and reset the animation. Solved.

As knifing while transitioning to 2nd Chance is equally ridiculous, simply remove the possibility.

On Knifing, as soon as Azuremen mentioned the Counter Strike deal, I've been on board that. It just makes perfect sense. I understand it's just a video game, but it is pretty ridiculous to see a guy cut the shooter after taking 2, 3 rounds from his/her gun. You know what? From now on, I'll start going for the headshot. :lol:

My solution to the shields, outside regular guns, I go to my Danger Close class. I usually have no problem with them though. Little fake to the one side, crossover to the other side while hip-firing to their side.

I hate getting killed with C4, as they have really loud explosion, it really lets me know that I got owned. :lol: Some guys are really good with it. When I end up with a C4, I often can't even figure out how to work it.
 
IT'S ALIVE!!!! At 10:15 PM I plugged in my PS3 and it booted right up. I'm not sure how long this repair will last but at least I know how to fix it when it goes down again. I'm in the process of updating and backing up so I don't know if I'll stress it tonight. I want to run a full system back-up before it's too late.

Also, I'm doing some roofing work on the house so I'm pretty busy most of the day. I'll be on at night mostly, like after 8 pm Eastern.

We kicked butt tonight. I saw Cody got on after I got off. Maybe we can all be on around the same time tomorrow. :crazy:
 
I'll see what's going on. I ran the PS3 for about 3 hours. Updated the system, got my accounts squared away, did the PS+ thing, updated GT and checked out the new stuff, did a few laps then my internet decided to cut out so I messed around offline. I'll have to download the free stuff when I'm comfortable leaving the system alone for a few hours. I'm really hoping the Arctic Silver I threw on the processors is going to hold up. I had barely enough left, but I got everything covered just hopefully not too much...also hopefully it's not too old as I've had it for a while. Fan didn't seem to be on warp speed and the air coming out didn't feel too hot. Just give me a couple days to watch it like a hawk and then I'll be good to go. I might jump into a few matches here and there, maybe an hour max, during the week. It's sooo good to be back.
