Sup guys! O.T. Not really a fan of the COD series (played COD4 a lot, but i suck at it lol), just wondering if there are some BF:BC fans out there...

I played the first Modern Warfare's campaign very quickly a few weeks ago to see what the series was all about. Finished that game very quickly and then traded it towards Modern Warfare 2. I just finished the campaign on Modern Warfare 2 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both games were very awesome and especially intense. Now, I really wish I would have picked up the first game earlier so I could have played it some online, at least more than the two hours that I played it while I had it. I will be walking into a hornet's nest on this game now.

He's probably on the second level. Nobody thinks there is a second level, and thus, never gets shot at or killed. The second level is inside one of the sides. And no, I'm not talking about the heli pad.

Another great hiding spot is the scaffolding on one of the sides. It's behind one of the small buildings. You can run and jump on it and follow it all the way back to the building.

I think it was breakpoint who mentioned this game being unlock-heaven. I am enjoying that part of the online game now. While you do get killed much more, you do rank up much faster, too. With the top rank now being Level 70, it is taking forever. Not to mention I'm trying to rank up on both PSN & Xbox Live. Those of you who have prestiged already, you guys are unbelievable.

I'm so split between this and Forza 3. I played MW2 for a week straight after release, maybe a bit longer. Now I'm stuck back on FM3...But I think I will play this tonight. Hopefully some of you will be on?

I am so angry right now, I have just had the WORST gaming night in my LIFE. Cod6 is all just camping now, I hate it. Every corner is a nade launcher or Akimbo Ranger Shotguns. My k.d went from 1.39 to 1.34 over the whole night with every match except 1 or two being negative kills (more deaths over kills). I was about to throw my controller into the wall, the TV, the window, my laptop, my everything, I was getting so annoyed. I hate all the little noobs that play this game. I cant play Demolition anymore because for some stupid reason, Infinity Ward has failed so hard that I get paired up with 3rd and 4th prestigers when I am level 45, not only that but every connection was one bar. Every time I knife or shoot someone, apparently it doesnt count and they own me way after I shot them. I was about ready to get rid of this game and put it in my schools christmas hamper tomorrow, thats how annoying it is. Ridiculous, I dont know that I will play this for a few nights, GTA IV, here I come.

Sorry for it, but I had to let it off my chest, my favourite game has let me down, its not even the game, just the people online that want to make everyones life a misery.

In just the last five-six days, the game has taken a complete nose dive. It's utter crap. It has always been painful to play, but at least there were some fun moments. The entire day yesterday, I couldn't find a decent game. I skipped out on over 20 games, easily.

Also, it's taking longer to get into a game. For whatever reason, whenever I wait for a game to start, it usually never does. So I've gotten in the habit of getting out of a 'lobby' and going right back in again. I used to just wait for a new game to start. Not anymore.

I'm also dying faster than ever. One, or two shots, and I'm dead. I've no idea what weapons they have, but I did notice one person using the two shotguns. That is an instant kill. Combine that with somebody who always seems to know EXACTLY where you are, and can run faster than you can aim, means you die instantly and the games now end quickly because you get nuked.

Seriously. In the first few weeks, I never got nuked. Yesterday, I got nuked three times! THREE! The day before, once. I'm about done with this game. I still want to get all the M4 unlocks, though. But that means I'll need to play for quite a bit longer. I need 35 more headshots, and I THINK I'm done.

Also, do people get better armor or can take more damage the higher the level? Seriously, I unloaded an entire magazine of ammo from my M4 and he didn't go down! I reloaded, and shot at him again, unloading a good third of the new magazine before he finally killed me. Ridiculous.

Since people are so unmatched, A LOT, and I really do mean A LOT of people are just quiting right in the middle of a game. IW better do something quick, or it's the end for this game.

Emptying the entire clip, just to have him/her turn around and shoot you dead, that is nothing new. Boy, if I had a nickel for every time I cried about that on CoD4. Yeah, that has upset me more than once, today.

And Legendary, don't let the campers defeat you. I'm convinced more than ever; CoD is like sports. Sometimes, you have to run certain 'plays', or certain styles, at least until the momentum is on your side again. I was running & gunning with one of my cold-blooded classes earlier today. Campers owned me hard. My k/d was barely even to easily negative. On top of that, I had one of those akimbo ranger dude with ninja-pro who was able to cut me from behind at least three times in the beginning of the game. My answer? Counter camp. I switched my gun to the ACR. I made that akimbo-ranger dude look silly, too. There he is, running around looking for me or my guys, I just shot him rest of the game from like a block away. You just hang in there, it will turn around for ya. I get the feeling that you already know that, though. I get pretty frustrated with everything, too.

P.S. I got the M21 this evening, scratch that, this morning. This rifle pwns. Not much stopping power, but much more forgiving than Barret. It's super easy to get that second shot in to finish the target off. 👍

I've not really figured out which maps are 'sniper maps' yet. It was clear cut in CoD4 which maps favoured using a sniper rifle, yet in MW2 it's not as obvious. Derail or maybe Afgan or Wasteland i guess are the nearest, but even with these long line of sight maps you have too much dirty air between you and a potential victim. I've found a good assault rifle with ASOC a much more effective long-range weapon with the added benefit of not being as vulnerable in medium and short range situations as you would be with say a Barrett.

I've found that, with some skill, assault rifles can be excellent counter-sniper rifle with ACOG, but especially with the thermal scope. On maps like Afghan, Rundown, and that really rainy map(can't remember the name), where it can be hard to see for whatever reason, thermal scope lights them up like the other guys are running around naked. And even when they don't light up(cold-blooded perk), I think the zoom capability is little bit better than on ACOG? Anyways, I've had some really good successes with my ACR. That gun has crazy range and accuracy.

As far as the sniping maps go, yeah, I think Derail & Wasteland are the couple of obvious ones. I just had a really good sniping game on Invasion though. Especially from that U.S. base/embassy building. Estate's probably a good one, too.

Estate would seem like another obvious sniping map, but there are too many trees around for that to be the case, IMO. Unless you camp an obvious choke point, the enemy is usually in and out of cover before you get chance to sight them.

With so many maps having heavy rain/snow/mist/dust storms now, i'm finding it hard to scope medium-long and long range enemies on my SD TV. It doesn't help that it's becoming more and more blurred around the edges these days. Thankfully, if it gets much worse i could probably justify upgrading to a nice new larger HD 👍

This is the same way I feel so I'll jump on the rant wagon.

So if your late to the party and have a ranking under 20 why do they persist to put you in a match with a bunch of 50's or higher ranked players?
I mean how can you get your ranking higher by playing people who obviously know the maps a lot better and have a bunch of perks to just mow you down?
That's no fun at all and just pisses me off.

I do back out of matches (before they start) with a lot of highly ranked players but don't mind seeing half the field being a higher rank (usually much higher) than I.
I can only get better playing better players.

To match players with a relative ping isn't working either.
Mine is showing 100ms.
The majority of matches I played yesterday were showing all kinds of connectivity bars (4 green to 1 orange) in the same match, not evenely matched at all.
And along with all this my game froze up yesterday 3 times will matching and I had to reboot and of course the controller wasn't syncing up so had to reboot the PS3 again each time in order for the controller to sync up???????????????????????? Bah!

A bigger problem I had yesterday was unloading clips on players that just would not die, only to find out they were on the same team.
It was the fact that they're name was not appearing above them for a couple seconds??????????????????

C'mon guys get it correct or get out of the industry.

I know most of us know all this but more of us need to voice our opinion about these issues.
Unfortunately I really have nothing good to post about the game.
The campaign is too short (6 hours play time, max), and unless the special ops is glorious in some way (done only a few so far) it's not worth the money.

This will most likely be my last CoD game.

I wish GT5 would release so I can stop wasting money on other games to hold me over.

The Barrett is a poor choice in my opinion in comparison to the Intervention, the Intervention has the range and damage of the Barrett, but is more accurate, seems to suffer less scope wave and is much more subtle noise wise (I can hunt people down using the distinctive sound of a Barrett).

Open up all the attachments for it and its a superb weapon, particularly with the thermal scope fitted, its also still one shot kills (if you hit body or head) with a silencer fitted.

As far as sniping maps go, Derailed is the most obvious (and a great one using thermal), but I've used the intervention to great effect on most maps, including a good run on Favela using it with an ACOG fitted to pick people off from the rooftops.


In regard to the issues people are suffering with the game, a lot seem par for the course with new COD releases, I can clearly remember that for the first month after COD4 came out you could wait 20+ mins to just join a match.

I'm willing to give it a chance, mainly because poor matchmaking was a norm (for me anyway) on COD4 and I just love the Spec Ops missions.

You can play them alone if you wish to. Some of them aren't all that hard actually and getting 3 stars is simple, especially the 2 snowmobile race ones. With 2 player online you have to invite someone or be invited, which makes things a lot easier. You're not forced to play with someone you don't want to. You can also play split-screen and it's alright for some missions, but some are better online since you get a whole screen for yourself. A mic is almost a necessity for online because good communication is key. I find Spec-Ops to be really enjoyable and have no problems going through them over and over with different people even if I've already 3 stared the mission. The last ones seem darn near impossible, but if you can formulate a plan you can get through it.

I have to agree with you that MW2 is like a sport. I have noticed that, it was apparent to a lesser degree with COD4 too. On MW2 though, I have found that it is better to analyse your own teams strategy than that of the other teams. If you can find a weakness in your own sides tactics, then that is where the enemy will strike next, this is particularly true in objective game modes like domination. Another thing I have learned is that it is better to go off in the opposite direction around the map than the rest of your team. you are likely to bump into some who are trying to run at you from the back, which will present you with some easy kills id you have a sound 'lonewolf' strategy. 👍

@Scaff: You hit the nail on thre head regarding the matchmaking dificulties that MW2 is having. I brought COD4 on launch, and I can remember vividly still, the 'downloading settings' fiasco that lasted from November, until the new year. IW will get to the bottom of this, but you can harldy blame them for being hostages to their own popularity!

@ 01GTP: If you want to beat the best, you have to play with or against them. You will learn nothing from someone who knows little or nothing himself. Eventually, if you stick with it, you will become one of the best, you won't be if you persist in avoiding players that are better than you are.

I personally used to exit any lobby that had a majority caln in it, thinking that an organised team would thrash me. In some instances that is true, but not in all. I take great delight in rubbing it in if I am in a team that beats a clan, and it is great to see thenm skulk off with their heads hung low! 👍

My laser finally arrived and this game is badass.

I was suprised how easy I've managed to learn the maps and get used to the guns. So far I've only been playing just under 2 hours but I feel completely at home with everything avaliable to me.

While I think you do need to analyze everything, yeah, I think people worry way too much about how the other team is playing(camping, etc.), they forget to review their own game plan. I know I have to. Quite alot.

From my experience(CoD4 too, of course), clans are generally no better than individual players. Often, worse. Of course, I only play TDMs, so it could be different in other games.

How accurate is their information. Reason why I ask, they are talking about exclusive map pack headstart on X360. Last thing I read from Infinity Ward seemed to have shot down any idea of X360 exclusive map pack. I've posted this info on here before, I think:

This was regarding to the pre-release rumor, but the strong reaction from IW seem to indicate that there will be no special treatment for the X360 players when it came to the map pack.

Not only do you get a wonderful gaming experience (MW2 in 1080p looks phenomenal and makes the game a lot more enjoyable), but you can get BBC iPlayer in 1080p and of course Blu-ray. PS3 really does get turned in to an excellent entertainment centre with a HDTV.

I believe another chain mail has emerged claiming a new version of "Nazi Zombies" will come to MW2, recieved it off a friend and it had all the typical chain mail bull about sending it on to everyone in your friends list. Sorry, I forgot to reply to you.

I was joking to my friend that him adding a HDTV would be like a see-better perk. He was one of the best players I had on my friends list during CoD4, and while he was bit struggling at first on MW2, he is close to being back now. He just ordered his 40" Braviadala thing, just earlier this week.

Until you get that high def though, do try the thermal scope. I know exactly what you mean about the rain, snow, etc., and once you get use to using the thermal, it will be a thing of the past. Only thing is, thermal scope is godawful to use at close range. Video seems to have a slower refresh rate, almost webcam-like. It also have higher zoom.

What I do is use ACR with thermal for mid range to long shots. And I rely on Pimpin' 2000(PP2000) for close kills. Even if you don't use it all the time, this class would be worth keeping one in the pocket.
