I can see where you erased part of the circuit at Turn 14, connecting up to Turn 20 and reprofiling Turn 22. You wouldn't happen to have a draft with those corners intact, would you? Because I think that if you included that route, it would be a great circuit.

Anyway, I've been doing tours of airports, looking for something useable. I think this one at Ben-Gurion in Israel works quite nicely:

The simple wonders of paper... If only I could find some way of showing some of my ideas from paper. I like Watkins Glen, and would take inspiration from the Watkins Glen International circuit, if I just had a way to upload such photos...

You're sure that's only 4 miles? If you've managed to make it look *THAT* complex, while still making it short, you might've done one of the best I've ever seen.

I made a gmap of Monaco circuit, to get you guys thinking about track width, etc. to show you guys (including myself) that the F1 guys could widen/move things to make it work.

There is a small island off the coast of Maine that I always thought would be an excellent rally stage or 'isle of man' type circuit. And now that I'm graduated....

I love the layouts of the ones that aren't figure eights (unless there're secretly bridges...?)


The problem is, though, that noise concerns are causing problems. Even Brands Hatch is being noise-restricted. I see some of those airports are right in residential development areas, and those ones are the whingiest. :(
 
The figure-of-eight ones would require bridges. RAF Lyneham and Leuchars are both due to close by 2014, so each could become circuits with a fly-over in place.

Makes sense. Also, after zooming in, REALLY close, I can sorta see that there aren't TOO many residential zones nearby Leuchars... But, they'd need a new name for that one.. It doesn't roll off the tongue nearly as well as "Oschersleben." :rolleyes:

In all honesty, though, St. Mawgam (?) (AGAIN WITH THE NAMES) looks to have the most promise as a circuit.

I don't speak Arabic, but, I get the feeling that might mean "Racer's Heaven" or "Restricted Land of Royal Tunisian Palace." Heh, it'd be funny either way.

You know, I'm pretty sure that everyone who posts here has some really great ideas about tracks.


I just don't know if the FIA would approve the 240 mp/h speeds that could be reached on the Golden Gate bridge, given that it IS the Golden Gate bridge, and, should a car come airborne, that'd be quite a *difficult* crash to *survive.*

Except for the really long bridge, though, that track looks like a new Nürburgring!

Another problem is that it goes by people's houses, so noise would be an issue.

BUUUT, if you did survive a crash on the golden gate bridge, you'd have every bragging right in the world

I tried to come up with something for Phoenix, but we are on a grid system out here so 90% of the roads are straight in town. Not much fun there.

But, it's probably fun for daily commuting? I imagine it'd be less chaotic than my home city... Speaking of which, I wonder...
 
The roads are nice and wide, most city streets are ~3 lanes wide (each direction) but straight is.....straight. :P Still boring.
