The thing with cockpit view is (IMHO) its unrealistic. When you’re driving, your focus is on the road ahead, so you never notice anything immediately in front of you. Which is why I find the interior view quite distracting and difficult to use when racing.
I think bonnet camera or bumper camera is most realistic from a driving point of view. Chase cam is pretty cool also to see what exactly the car is doing.

I'm probably dreaming here, but ideally, I'd like the same (if not more) range of wheels to that of GT4, and the ability to change size and offset of the wheel. Nothing too crazy. Perhaps the option of going 2" bigger than the standard wheel size. With a plus/minus 20 offset changability.

I like it for the fact that it blocks your view, like driving in a car. Oh, and the details. Wait, details? :dopey:

It's just a preference. That's why people are half-lucky for not caring about that. The bad part is PD is wasting time doing anything that isn't what they want. You're half-lucky. I only cared that the standards didn't have cockpit views for the first 4-5 months. After that, 800 cars were unlocked for me. Well, 600-ish because of duplicates. I don't consider GT-R's duplicates, I consider Miatas and a couple other models duplicates because there pretty insignificant. Skyline's are just epic in their own way whether people like them or not. I don't expect most people to understand, so I can do without 40 Skyline duplicates if they were to be converted to Premium. That's where the most dev. time is used. After graphics/physics, and then tracks. Graphics and physics because those will forever need to be adjusted.

My bad for the double post. I'm getting careless.

Some cars in GT5 have multiple colored interiors from choosing different paint jobs. That's not difficult to ask for silly.

Yes. And there is ton's packages for cars. But that wasn't the reason I was loling. It was the fact that he combined Changeable Rims and Cockpit view.

This! 👍 People who drive cockpit IMO get more out of the game. Just as you said some have better views than others so the driving is that much better and challenging. 👍

Yea, when I drive the premiums using the cockpit cam, most of the time I hardly look at the interior of the car.
My eyes do almost the same thing that NFS shift tried to simulate when we drive, just look directly at the track and it's references.
I almost completly overlook the car interior so it's not really distracting to me and does give a more realistic view and feel to the drive.
And with the standards it should be even less distracting since it's just a black silhouette and doesn't have any detail at all.

Can we get a poll for this thread please? I'd be interested to quantify what the GT community thinks on this topic.

I suspect the majority would want changable wheels on std models more than cockpit views. Perhaps this could send a message to PD to include this in the next update.

Wow guys, rims? Really? Wow.

Cockpit view. It gives immersion and proper feel for physics.

Rims? Nothing against them, but no real match against having cockpit.

Anything to make the car look less stock.
Prefer rims over cockpit but I want cockpit too.. Hopefully they add rims for standards in future update.

I sure wanted both, but to choose one I like cockpit view. When I want some kind of a challenge I go with the cockpit view, is always more interesting to race on it.

Don't use interior view and the standards need something to distract you from the last-gen modelling so wheels it is for me, PD fell off the ball they were on again.

I love different rims and everything, but.. i'm going 100 % with cock pit view, yes it is blacked out, but it varies from different cars, so thats to say not "all" interiors are blacked out, and even when they are, their are high detailed mirrors, a steering wheel and the drivers high detailed hands, i love the fact that the game can actually say it has over 1000 behind the wheel view, it is nice, now you can experience weight loading and shifts in body roll and drive the car the way it's meant to be driven in a proper behind the wheel view, i don't even know how many laps im going to put in behind the wheel of a m3 GTR race car.... so interiors for me, they might not be the best, but it's better then nothing. and it shows PD do care alot about standard cars. I remember how many people complained about no interior views for standard cars, "not even a simple view", but also i still hope we can change wheels in future,(or now if i can tweet it to kaz) but really...behind the wheel of SIL80... is going to be awesome black interior or not.

I'll say the only time you can take a bad picture of a standard, or use in a race, is if it's one of the poorly modeled ones.

You should take a look at most race cars and a good chunk of the standards. I would like to say most standards look better than decent.

i just thought about, tank car interior view...and the washing machine. FTW... BMW V12 race car...all the open top Le mans cars...convertible, shelby super charged, 350 z open top.. and many many many mnay MANY more, Especially the LE MANS cars!

Interior for me. I don't care what the car looks like from the outside. It's a driving game not a fashion parade.

Ohhh, Rims for sure! At least for me, but mainly because my focus is on taking pictures in GT5! :D

Between the rims or the cockpit view, it's a tough choice....

CRUEL FATE.... WHY DO YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE!!!! :(

But I like the challenge of the cockpit view in racing, so I'll be on that side.

For me? I couldn't care less about changing the wheels. Give me a cockpit view every time. 👍

Looks like our cockpit brothers are sleeping. Why are the numbers neck at neck? The cockpit family should prevail in a circumstance like this.
