^Those RUFs look stunning, especially the black one! I'd like to see a pic of the supra... For me it's the car that definatly need a wheel change the most.

I got one of my Supra I made last night and also my GTO 5.7:

BTW, those RUFs look sweet, Steve McQueen.:sly:

Rims for standard cars have a few inconveniences:

- The all have ridiculous sizes
- Rim size is the same for all models, given a certain cars. On Premium cars there's some variability between different wheels
- They have a noticeable offset difference from stock rims. This might not always be desirable
- There's a limited number of a models
- Those models appear to be the same for all cars (unlike with Premium cars)
- There aren't suitable rims for older cars or muscle cars
- It appears that rims for standard cars are able to change the bolt pattern and patter diameter

well the rim size matches the factory rim. they aren't the same on every car

If you check more carefully, you'll see that on Premium cars aftermarket rims have different diameters, they do not necessarily match factory ones.
On most Standard cars those rims they are noticeably larger than factory ones, and they have all the same size. They look ridiculous on low-end cars.

I meant on standards. The cars that I changed last night just replaced the factory wheel with the same size rim. Case in point was the Dodge ram (which I kept factory cause it looked dumb with aftermarket) and the Land Rover which has HUGE rims on it clearly bigger than any other car. I'm not sure I'm on the same page as you. And I saw a pic of a CRX earlier that looked pretty good. I would consider that a low end car

I've noticed as I go through my favorites list and upgrade rims that there are certain cars that this greatly benefits. Certain muscle cars, for example, get huge increases in wheel diameter that makes aftermarket wheels look much better than they did when you put them on the same cars in GT4.

For Classic cars (Euro-Asia)19XX-1995, BBS wheels look the best, brings more class to them and they sit nicely, especially BBS RE-MG on the 2002 turbo.

This is what I'm talking about:

On Premium cars rims vary somewhat in size, but on standard cars they're all unnecessarily large. I wouldn't want such large rims on my RL car, and those in the photo above are a model which somewhat disguises their size.

Not to mention that the bolt pattern has changed as well! Ok, this is just a minor detail, but still.

This minica is more suited for BBS wheels, makes kei cars look very nice, TE37 just looks out of place on it, unless of course this was just for a comparison shot, But all in all, i say you should be very happy, PD could have decided to not put this feature in at all, remembering back at what they said during the GTP/PD interview "We are done with standard cars" apparently they were not done, and i'm glad to see wheels finally being changeable on standard cars, And a nice selection as well, through my time online i have seen very nice looking cars.👍

It's nice that wheels can be changed on standard cars, but I would have been be happier if rim diameter were user-selectable too, or indirectly selectable like on Premium cars.
Yes, I just took this model for quick comparison purposes to get the point across, but all other rims are exactly as big as the ones in the photo above, which is too much for my likings.

Honestly Shirakawa, I think the size looks ok for an upgraded aftermarket wheel. If you choose another model, like a BBS, your nice red Minica will be spot on. :)

Of course, its personal taste. I got your idea. For me its cool because usually, when you change wheels, you go up 1 or 2 inches because its an upgrade anyway and the fittment is better than GT4 in this case.

Your Kei just need some lower suspension :P Look at this nice example:

Mmmmm, i've already changed the rims on my S4 (YES) and my... uhhh... micra '99

Should i change the wheels on my stock Jaaaaag XJ220? That is the question

P.S Those are were some badass RUFs earlier in the thread!

For me its like night and day most of the standard cars original wheels are horrid, not saying all the classics need big shouty rims like need for speed but theres some cars that suit my personal taste with the right rim and I am totally grateful to Kaz and the team. Better late than never haha.

Hopefully this will be a starting feature in GT6 with a much wider selection and rim size choices, even as a later GT5 dlc perhaps (wheels pack). This patch feature of changing wheels on standard cars has opened up new possibilities.

Except that car has a noticeably larger aspect ratio on the tyres than what SHIRAKAWA Akira posted. :odd:

It seems as though the wheels were modelled at one size / aspect ratio and then just scaled to fit all cars' wheels' nominal diameter. It wasn't like that in GT4, and it doesn't seem to be the case with the Premiums.

They really shouldn't have started all the code from scratch if they could have avoided it at all, they're playing catch-up to themselves.

Personally I like fat tires, and therefore relatively small rims with a not too big width.

25 tires or something like that.

This car's rims are smaller in diameter (relatively to the tires) than the Minica in the screenshot above, which appears to have extremely low profile /20 or /25 tires or something like that.

True.. I think I really got what you said. The proportion of the wheel vs tire is incorrect for a car this sized. The tires really must be taller. 👍

That is something that I honestly couldn't care less about, especially not if worrying about that led to less wheel selection.
It's not hard to change the bolt patterns in the real world. See it all the time in the Volkswagen scene. Just saying...

Before I went to work this morning I had a guy literally yelling at me online because I put rims on my white Cuda. He seems to think cars in Gran Turismo are real and not.......you know......a video game. LOL

ANd even if I had a Cuda in real life I'd change it's rims as to not ruin the originals. And also while yeah......Cudas are some of the nicest looking cars of all time......I wouldn't call 1971 hub caps quite as appealling to the eye.

Lol. You put whatever wheels you want on that Cuda. Mopar heads are always obsessive when it comes to original looks. I did a purple with white graphic Cuda and used the double 5 spoke wheels painted white. With the Cuda lowered from the adj suspension, this car looks awesome. Its all a matter of taste. Enjoy.

Only done the Supra RZ and the '98 300ZX so far, but already it's made the game that much awesomer. :D

Thanks PD!

I wish there were more rim choices but Ive enjoyed this part of the update so far. Here are a few of my faves that have been dusted off and played with again since getting new shoes. Man these would kill if they were premiums. Looks like Photobucket killed a bit of the quality. :(

And yes these are my fav rims for upscale look.

My fav Ruf.

I would love for this Ruf to be premium.

My fav street M3 next to the one and only E30.

Always loved this SUV. Love it even more now with the rims. And the sounds of the engine are sweet too.

Man I gotta get on this RUF rim change thing. Every one I see looks amazing. I'm going to do a white rgt with red rims just like the Porsche gt3.
