Guys...these aren't the PERFORMANCE versions. they're basic transportation, to get you from a to b. I've never seen the Spirit R/T, and only have just heard of it (hard to believe the did an R/T for it). i've only ever seen the "duster" packeged 3 door of the previous model group.
unlike a lot of you, I don't boy race on weekends. the only thing we have around here is a dirt oval that they race late model late 80's and early 90's on. stripped to the sheet metal. Hell, I saw a PINTO in the 4 cylinder runs, for pete's sake.
I am a fan of performance, and would LIKE to be able to modify and Rodify vehicles, but you just can't afford to do much around here except drive back and forth to work. the occasional souped up compact or subcompact comes through, but even the Baby Boomers stopped taking their muscles, classics and Antiques to shows around here. they only dig them out for the 4th of July, now, run them for a couple hours, and drop them in the garage. I think it's the weather conditions, road conditions, and the sheer number of Pickups that makes them afraid to de trailer queen the cars.
