well... acctually in my mag from 68 with the 69 judge ad it says it was a 454... probably in 70/71 it was a 455 unless they had two packages in 69.. but thats what it says no lie

GTO used the 389 then the 400 then 455 all based off the same engine
olds and buick also had 455 but those engines are different

the 455 came out in 69 there was no 454 in GTO

454 and 455 are totally different engines 454 is a chev big block that was used in the chevelle (i know and many other chevs) but never used in the GTO

454 chev
455 pontiac, buick, oldsmobile

i'm not saying your wrong but thats what it said here and i've had this since i was 10 so thats what i've been telling people cuz thats what i read.. sheesh... but it is my dream car... and personally they should have cars like this on GT

I'd have to say my favorite is the 1971 Mach 1. First and formost for the looks. And it's plenty fast. 429 HP 351 Windsor is good for me. The Mustang and the Corvette are the only American muscle cars that are truly living legends (where's the Firebird? The Camaro?). In 2005, when the new Mustang comes out, I plan to pick up a GT or an SVT in 2006. Once again, after a long ugly phase, the Mustang is beautiful!

The GTO is back
hopefully they will later put the 427 in it like they did in the monaro (which the GTO is based off)
this is the prototype

the 427 model is currently only for australia the GTO will get the LS1 with some small mods to bring the power to about 350HP
the 427 model has about 650-700HP
thats why i said hopefully they make the GTO with the 427

thats okay i don't need to.. all i know is that it says 454 right here.. but maybe its a miss print... anyhoo... i was looking at the new goat and it comes with the all aluminum 350.. yup also 350 hp... if you go to pontiac.com they have sound clips too now sounds not to bad i'm really impressed... i hope they decide to put the ram air on it though... i mean the judge has allways had some kinda cool scoup or scoups... and i also hope that they make a judge option too.. with a 400... hey if dodge can bring back the Hemi why can't pontiac bring out the bigger engines too:D not to mention how light they are lol

i live about 20Kms (12.5miles) from where they are building the new GTO

yeah but i hear them all the time all our 1998+ V8 holden commodores and monaros have the all alloy 350ci (5.7L) LS1 engines

my close friend has one with and exhaust so ive gotten used to the sound

ah.. see where i'm more used to my dads, brothers, friends big blocks.. and then you have me with my lil V6 lol.. not for long though i have a small block 400 at my dads shop that just needs head now... we've tottally rebuilt it... its goin into my 84 monte carlo just cuz i can:D .. i'm gonna get it painted and i have ss monte rims that are goin on it to spruice it up and i might sell it next spring or summer.. to get something more like my dream GTO or Tran-am...

My 84

Its not bad but its can only go so far and look so good... where as an older car like the 69 GTO and 71 Tran-am can look so dam amazing... plus it more worth it in the end.

okay... never mind i guess those links don't work... well thats wierd well here this is my site.. built it from scratch.. nothing but a notepad and photoshop... http://www.geocities.com/blue_phoenix84/index.html the pics are in there if you want to look at them.... i know i look like a wannabe lol... anyhoo be warned there is music on the site so keep the sound down a bit.. no its not midi its mp3

those pics arnt working

my dad used to import cars from the US and Canada and ive gone over there many times with him, i hope to go back soon and get a GTO
my dad used to own one with a 455HO, but he sold it

ive rebuild a 1971 HG Holden monaro GTS 350 stroked 383
i dont have pics of it on my computer but here is a standard one
mine looks much better with wider wheels etc

should go good with a 400 in it:)

by the way my dad and i import american and canadian cars to australia we dont take any aussie cars over there

our family looks a bit wierd in australia my dad drives a suburban my mum drives a trans am and i drive a monaro and 180sx(hopefully soon a GTO) the suburban and trans am are hardly known in australia

hey thats cool... a suburban.. lol i love those.. its like go big or go home. eh lol and trans am thats sweet what year.. my dad has a 77 the year of the bandit it goes really fast has a 400 big block and a hurst shifter... not the original paint and decalling.. but its black with a sweet stripe job... i'll see if i can post a pic later

this is my dads 77.. the pic doesn't do it justice though
i have to get new ones done up... better suroundings too.. this was taken at his shop and if you can see it there is our hit to pass race car in the background... well the bumper anyways lol
