I haven't seen much in the way of reviews of the pre-1980 cars in the game. Anybody got any favorites or surprises in driving any of the classic cars in the game?

dude a guy said he had the chevelle,supercharged,nos...Smoked the tires...
havent heard about any others.man hearing actual gameplay from people
is worse then when no one had the game,I`m dying!!!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what vintage Jaguar racing cars there are in the game, because Jaguar had quite a racing past, although you wouldnt know it looking at them now. 👎

There are vintage Jags in the game? I know the E type is in, but I'd love to race the C and D types. Also really excited about the Jensen Interceptor - just hope and pray there's another way of getting it except getting all gold on a licence test. I hate licence tests.

...and the US muscle cars. They were what originally got me hooked on GT2... All in all I'm excited about pretty much any pre 1980s car in the game. :)

Nurburgring + 2000GT on stock suspension, but fully tuned otherwise + NOS = retarded fun :P

seriously, though
the 2000GT handles very nicely in its stock form. sure the suspension is soft, but the overall feel of the car is great :)

It won't handle well with the additional speed and power I'll tell you that for free :D, in it's stock form it was a nice car to drive in GT2, I've only had a limited time playing GT4 though.

So far my favorite older car is the '64 Ginetta G4. Only 98 HP, but it's light and is very fast for such low power. Rotates beautifully. Also have a '67 or so Skyline that has a cool engine note. Yes I love the older cars too!

Anybody else now that the game has been out a while? I just love the older cars in most games!

Looking forward to the Alfa myself, haven't gotten to it yet I'm afraid. Not sure if it's buyable or not.
I did win the '54 Corvette though which is a lot of fun. 2 very tall gears and a lot of body roll! It has whitewalls, but if you put sports or race tires on guess what? No whitewalls. Cool.

I guess we'll know in a few (short) weeks if PD/SCEE saw the light and added some much needed classic European cars.

Me, I'd love to see a Broadspeed XJC and or XJS (wide bodied Jags that raced their pants off in the late 70's early 80's).

The Buick Special is friggin awesome. I think that's the one that PD picked out from a contest or something. Doesn't look stock anyways.

Can't wait to try that Superbird, ricey wings and all :D

But the BMW 2002 Turbo has to be my absolute fave classic car to drive. Man that car is amazingly fun on the ring.

:D personally I think the older cars are just what we need, much more fun to drive(from GT2 and GT3 experience) and they make for great 2 player battles with your mates. GT3 just overkilled on Skylines and Evos :yuck: , I didn't mind a few but GOD do we need that many, shame not many of the 60's 70's and 80's rally cars or touring cars weren't considered,( BMW M3, Escort BDA,Zakspeed Capri MK2+MK3, Seirra Cosworth RS500, Lotus Cortina MK1, Mustang beater!) for example, as many of these cars were championship winning cars in their era and it would have been nice to see them included. But ho hum from what has been said about GT4 I can't wait!!! 🤬 PULLEEEAAAASSSEEEEE hurry up PD!

I can´t wait to try the old shelby mustang... I hope they made the sound for it really good... cause that´s one of the cars i think sounds the best.

I am looking forward to all the cars, but for some weird reason, I cannot stop thinking about the '87 Buick Grand National GTX...I cannot wait to drive that beast !

Chrysler and Chaparral pretty much invented ricey wings. Speaking of which, I'd really like to see some Can-Am cars in a future GT.

I don't think the real 427 ever had any kind of top. So PD made one for it, becuase I guess they could simulate drivers like they can now. Anyway I agree the soft top PD made was ugly as hell, and what made it worse is, the first time I played and got enough money to buy the car I did. Boy was I disappointed the first time I took that out on the track.

Anyway I can't wait to drive me some old cars. My dad used to own a chevlle just like the one in the game. So thats gonna be exciting to drive.

I don't know anything about this car but it gets mentioned a lot. Can someone please explain what makes this car so great?

There's a bit of a rivalry between the 'Stang guys and the GNX guys. V8's vs. Turbo'd V6's and the like. Both could be made into huge power beasts ( I've got Dyno vids of each in the 1000hp range )

Ever see a car smoke the tires on the dyno? The GNX vid is just something to behold...this car is truely a beast. The DUAL turbos are so big they had to cut notches out of the hood for them to stick out of ( looks like a Pod Racer from starwars from the front ) and the blow off's shoot out the front fenderwells....very cool

Plus, a lot of people ( myself included ) like the boxy styling. I think it has an aggressive look personally, and looks best when clad in black on black. 👍

Plus, the Buick will beat the snot out of the Stangs on the Auto x tracks:p

Has anyone driven any of the old Hondas? I had an 85 Civic S in real life that handled awesome (with R compounds :) ) How is the 83 in the game or the even older ones?
