Yep. We won 35-14 to take home the Bayou Bucket. Congrats to the ECU Pirates on their win over UTEP.

We are now officially #1 in the Big 12 with us now ranked #8. But Kansas State is ranked one spot behind at #9.

Bring it on October 20th.

Geno's Numbers today:
657 Yards
49-54
8 TDs
No INT

un:censored:ing believable :drool: Words cannot describe that type of performance.

Matt who ? (starting to wonder what happened to the pre-season favorite). I'm holding on to Geno ..... all the way to the top. All season long we have been tooting his horn, and well deservedly so. ! This guy is the real deal !

Edit: Changed Avatar

:lol: +1 ..... nice

CAM
Our defense is getting better, we're staying in shape and the only hole is pass defense. We gave up 2 or 3 forty yard passes. Were really good in redzone defense.

We had a 90 minute weather delay with 6 minutes left in the second quarter. After the delay, we score 21 straight (28-10) and only give up a kickoff return touchdown. Our quarterback threw three picks, but we got three takeaways as well. Best of all, we finally have a running back again! First good runner we've had since Chris Johnson. 25 carries for 150 and a TD, name is Vintavious Cooper. UTEP is also really good, so I'm actually very impressed with our play.

Now, that I've said that, we will probably lose to Memphis in two Saturdays :lol:.

Great job by your Pirates CAM 👍 . You guys are having a good old time down there. Keep it up.

It's funny, well maybe odd, that you mention losing to Memphis. We (O.S.U.) have got one coming up that falls into the same category. In two weeks we face off against the 2 - 2 Indiana Hoosiers, who are really not that good. Those are the kind of games that sneak up on you and bite you in the ass.

Careful boys, careful. Don't get to big of a head here.

Nice John 👍

We can call you butter, because you are on a roll :lol:. Congrats on hitting that plateau. Keep it up.

Some OSU Bucknotes now.

It was indeed as nail biter up in East Lansing. We survived a tough one, 17 - 16. This game very well could have gone the other way. A missed field goal by MSU, all of those dropped passes by the MSU receivers ... game changing moments indeed. On the flip side of the coin, we had some moments as well. We could have done some damage in certain situations, but we puffed them away. Overall, the Buckeyes defense was stellar !!! We held the Spartans to just 35 yards on the ground. We gave up 269 in the air ... via bits and pieces, but we did not give up the big one as we have done so in the previous 4 games. Great job, and hats off to Luke Fickell (defensive coordinator) on his play calling. Braxton Miller looked pretty good. He was 16 of 23 (with a tweaked knee) for 179 yards. 63 of those yards being a great pitch and catch for a TD to Devin Smith. He also ran 23 times for 136 yards. It's a good feeling to go on the road in your division opener, against a ranked opponent in a hostile environment, and come away with a victory.

Next week .... we go primetime, 8:00 and on ABC. #22 Nebraska comes to the Horseshoe for the 1st time since joining the Big 10. This game will be very good to watch. (P/S ... I might, just might have tickets coming to me for this one. I'll know on Tuesday) ... (hoping).

So next week is the halfway point in this '12 season. What are your overall thoughts so far ? Good ? Bad ? A solid Meh ? There is a lot of good football left, so hang on, some interesting games are upcoming.

From the eyes of a WVU fan? Stellar. Geno is the best player I've seen in the many years I've watched Mountaineer football. If he does indeed win it, Morgantown will be lit on fire.

Anywho, about my second team, Illinois (who I haven't really paid attention to because of Geno =P), was...ahem...assaulted by Penn State 35-7 in Champaign, in which I happened to be in the city yesterday.

Nathan Scheelhaase throws for 1 TD and 3 INTs, triple the amount Geno's thrown this year.

#Scheel4Heisman

That night of fire is roughly 2.5 hrs. away from me. BIG PARTY on the horizon ? 💡

Yeah, what's up with Penn State .... 3 straight wins. PSU seems to be recovering nicely.

As we're further into the season now, more conference matches will be coming up. Can you be the best? Beat your conference opponents to prove your worth. A number of matches are coming up for this weekend. Here are some of many matches slated for this weekend:

--- THURSDAY ---
* Arkansas State at Florida International
* East Carolina at UCF (the CAM special)
* #13 USCal at Utah

--- FRIDAY ---
* Pittsburgh at Syracuse
* Utah State at BYU
* California Polytechnical at Weber State (NCAA FCS)

--- SATURDAY ---
* Navy at Air Force
* Connecticut at Rutgers
* Connecticut at #22 Rutgers
* Arkansas at Auburn
* LSU at #11 Florida
* Kansas at #7 Kansas State (Battle for the Governor's Cup)
* #24 Northwestern at Penn State
* Buffalo at Ohio
* Virginia Tech at North Carolina
* Virginia at Duke
* Arizona at #18 Stanford
* Iowa State at #15 TCU
* #4 LSU at #10 Florida
* #17 Oklahoma at Texas Tech
* Louisiana-Monroe at Middle Tennessee State
* Washington State at #14 Oregon State
* #5 Georgia at #6 South Carolina
* Texas A&M at Mississippi
* North Texas at Houston
* #8 West Virginia at #11 Texas
* Miami at #9 Notre Dame
* #3 Florida State at North Carolina State
* #21 Nebraska at #12 Ohio State
* #25 UCLA at California
* #23 Washington at #2 Oregon

The match I am most looking forward to is West Virginia coming down to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns. I'd be offended as a Texas native for a West Virginia school to beat TWO Texas schools on back-to-back weekends, but I digress. WVU has a huge test; not to say Baylor was a walk in the park. Geno can help his Heisman cause if he keeps up his freakishly unreal performance on the road at a hostile stadium.

I probably won't get to see much college football because there's a certain family function I have to attend to and be a part of this weekend. Enjoy your college football this weekend, and good luck to all of your team(s).

This week's top 25. LINK
Any surprises in here ?

* 'Bama obviously remains #1 ..... collecting 1500 votes.
* LSU drops a notch to #4 after some sketchy play.
* Rutgers climbs up a notch and hits #22
* Northwestern jumps into the mix at #24
* Stanford drops down from #8 to #18
* UCLA climbs back into the rankings at #25
* W. VA. inches closer to the top, now at #8
* Notre Dame moves up a notch to #9

Last night, Washington stunned #8 Stanford 17-13. Tonight, though... it's Hawaii at BYU. Enjoy this final weekend of September 2012!

A little late, but...

YEAYEAH! Bow down to Washington!

..Not hopeful at all though about this coming weekend's game...

* Boise State at Rutgers
* Connecticut at #22 Rutgers

No fair, why do we play a Doubleheader Saturday :lol:.

Post edited. Pack of dogs from Hartford coming to Rutgers this weekend. UConn Huskies at Rutgers Scarlet Knights. And remember people- I am only human. I am STILL anticipating the collision between West Virginia at Texas. Should be one hell of a game.

And who will be wearing his Geno jersey while watching that game?

Borat voice: DIS GUY!

Chip Johnson, an ECU defensive back, won national defensive player of the week honors. Which is funny because he missed a crap load of tackles and his two picks were tipped. And he fumbled one of them back to UTEP.

USA Today's has predictions out for all of the bowls. Here is our teams' predictions:

Me: Both analysts: Play Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl

Cam: One analyst: Play Air Force in the Hawaii Bowl

Other analyst: Play South Florida in the Beef O' Brady's Bowl

Nick: Both analysts: Play USC in the Rose Bowl

John: No bowl.
=(

Gameday. Let's see how we fare.

Notre Dame will destroy Miami Saturday at Soldier Field. It's going to create some wounds for them, but who cares!

Let's hope that only a handful of their players get arrested while in Chicago.

If by handful you mean all of them, then yes. I'm excited to finally be home for a Saturday, we've been at various stadia for the past 3 weeks.

Looks like it's time for the ECU Pirates to get their shine on tonight. The only BCS conference match tonight is USCal at Utah. I mentioned that I would be part of some family occasion this weekend. Well, I won't be. I still probably won't be in front of a TV this Saturday to see a few games and glance at a few scores.

Good luck to all of your team(s) this weekend. Hope your team(s) start October 2012 right.

What time is the Rutgers game Saturday?

I'm interested to see how we do. UCF played their BCS teams a lot tougher than we played ours. My hope is that they're still worn out from playing Missouri on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

When I post about upcoming games, I usually do so in the order the games start. So the games that are featured first usually start earlier than others. So it should be Noon (Eastern time) on Saturday when UConn and Rutgers collide this Saturday.

Urrrrm, uhhhhhh, who were these 2 analysts that called out the Buckeye's number to play USC ?

I think they forgot that OSU is on probation this year. We play our scheduled 12 games then we go home. We clean out our lockers and call it a year. We stay at home to watch the Big 10 Championship game. We stay at home to watch the Bowl Games. The best finish we could hope for is to outright win the Leaders Division of the Big 10.

P/S - See 'ya live from Columbus on Saturday night. :D

Well, they failed...
I looked at the article, and they fixed it to Nebraska.

And BTW, Sports Illustrated has risen Braxton Miller to #2 on the Heisman Watch, only behind you-know-who.

Todd Gurley of Georgia has entered the conversation, he grew up and played high school about 15 minutes from me.

Who? Do you mean Aaron Murray?

Are you serious ? They moved Miller to #2 ?
Miller has a long way to go before he hits "Geno" status.
I'll stick to a previous post ... I'll toot B. Millers horn next year (providing). This year it is about Geno (as of lately).

Good luck to your Mountaineers this weekend .... beating Texas, in Texas. Wish 'ya the best my friend. (climb that ladder man).

CAM, you have a biggie as well this weekend. :cheers: here's to your Pirates.

You say that I don't have WVU in a Bowl Game. That's untrue. I just never made any fancy pants prediction. It will likely depend, but I see WVU playing in a January Bowl. I'm thinking they will either play in a BCS Bowl or in a very good non-BCS bowl. My longshot is that they play in the BCS National Championship game. I say it's a longshot unless WVU blows peoples' minds so much to where they think WVU is a true power and truly worthy to be National Champs. I'm not knocking the Mountaineers- I'm just speaking as far as how most voters would judge West Virginia.

Right now...

* In the game I called the "CAM Special," it is a 30-20 lead for the UCF Golden Knights with about 6:36 left in the third quarter.

* It is 21-17 right now in favor of Utah at home against USCal with 7:14 left in the first half.

* Florida International is trailing 34-13 to Arkansas State with 13:40 left in the game. Game is at FIU.

Yup. I expected him to rise to #3, behind De'Anthony Thomas (That kid is dynamite!), but I guess that's why I'm not a sports analyst.

Good luck to your Buckeyes. It will be a shootout in Austin.

And Cam, good luck in coming to Orlando and beating UCF. Their TV contract reminds me of South Florida's when we were in the Big East, and now Texas since we're in the Big XII.

@John I don't see a National Title happening. Our defense is too weak to contend for one. I do see us playing in a BCS bowl.

In order to reach the national title game, this needs to happen (IMO):

- We go undefeated
- Alabama loses to LSU/Georgia/South Carolina/Florida
- Oregon loses to Washington/USC/Stanford
- Georgia loses
- LSU loses to a team BESIDES Bama or Georgia

Pretty much all of that crazy stuff similarly happened in '07, when we were #2 in December, set to face Missouri for a national title.

We screw it up losing to Pitt.

Still sour about that loss, even five years later.

Todd Gurley is UGA's running back, about 110 yards per game.

And we started 14-0 and blew up.

:nervous: There are some tall hurdles in your list. LSU (lately) has been a bit on the shaky side of things (winning, but still shaky). They could possibly drop one on down the road. But 'Bama, who can possibly get in their way ?

Oh, I too can relate to sour losses. 🤬 :grumpy:

I think an undefeated WVU beats a one-loss SEC team and, more importantly, Oregon. The only way you don't get in undefeated to me is if Bama drops a game, LSU goes undefeated, and Bama wins the SEC. Actually, I think you beat out LSU there.

What I'm trying to say is, if you guys are undefeated, I'd put money on you guys being in the top 2.
