I hope the veyron is not premium. What a crock of crap to drive. No handling just another example of someone trying to break the magic 1000 mark.

Edit. Oh no.

You driven one then? In real life? No? OK...

Oh well. There are tons of people who want to drive the Veyron in full premium glory, so... just because you don't :p

It does not mater to me how Veyron drives, but it is the most epic car made in last 20 years. For the sake of automotive history, it is nice that it will be a premium model.

Full thumbs up... in the words of Mr. Clarkson, it's the automotive Concorde.

Thinking of Top Gear and the Veyron, it'd be awesome to re-enact James' top-speed run on the large oval test track 👍

Bugatti EB110 is way more epic than Veyron. Of course veyron is a awesome engineering piece, but Eb110 got that 90's charm and style, and for its time made great impact, more than veyron. I won't say that the EB looks better (and I think it does), because this aspect is all a matter of taste.

I was hoping they would put the EB on GT5..

I'm just praying that the Veyron will be premium. It would be beyond stupid to have it as standard...

I'm just thinking about the models upscaled from PSP. Countach had to be upscaled from PSP, and is a standard car... I hope the Veyron isn't the same way.
Regarding a possible connection between premium cars and models designed for GTPSP ... do you guys remember the hi-res renders of the Corvette ZR-1 for PSP? Those looked way too detailed for a PSP model, but they were officially advertised as being from the PSP game.

Maybe the cars which were added to the GT4-ported garage of GTPSP already were programmed with GT5 in mind, so on top of the cars from GT5 Prologue, all newly added GT-PSP-cars will be premium models in GT5.

The site shows the Countach as standard, though :indiff:

Which I think is a pretty poor decision, but there you go.

No, they won't. Except the Corvette ZR-1, Ferrari Enzo, Bugatti Veyron and the Nissan R35 GT-R Spec-V.💡

Note that "standard" and "premium" has nothing to do with the status or the rareness of the cars. It simply is a differentiating factor in the precision of modeling that went into these cars. The decision whether to make a car "premium" or not was not met on the basis of how interesting the car is, rather than whether there was data from earlier GT installments available, or whether the car had to have been modeled from ground up anyway. Thus, there will be small, boxy and boring "premium" cars as well as fast and exciting "standard" cars in the game.

The two terms probably are a bit misleading. Closer to reality would be something like "fully modeled cars" and "simply modeled cars".

You may be right but why would they leave out some high end car instead of suzuki swift which many wont use. As most people will want to drive their fav and high end cars

And you know this how?

for ex lamborghini countact added to gt4 roster in gtpsp it'not premium in gt5. It's on the official site like an example of standard cars with blacked out windows and no interiors.

Well, how do they decide which cars to model anyway? For a car fan, many decisions they meet do not make much sense.

That's an excellent point. I just wondered why alaingeronimo87 named these exact four cars.

I just do not believe that they will miss out on some important cars as premium. Or if they do miss out then the standard model will be look really good with cockpit view too 💡

GT is all about cars but it make no sense if some mediocre/average car is been treated as premium in expense of others :ouch: Otherwise it will leave a sour taste for many. They can't afford to do that!

I understand that you wish differently, but like I said, the decision of whether to make a car standard or premium was not met on how cool/important the car is in automotive history. It was a simple technical decision based on what data they had available and what they still had to program.

Those are four cars taken as examples to showcase the level of details they put into the premium models. But how do you know these four cars are all there will be? And if I am not mistaken, the GT-R V-Spec was the only out of this quartet featured in GTPSP.

E3 2010. The Bugatti is one exception though, but it was already confirmed to be premium.
Some of my relatives know some of them, but they only gave me four.

Nah, it makes no sense. Don't you think they would have spend more time on the cover car, Mercedes SLS AMG or say Mclaren F1 instead.

Not because they simply chose some random car and decide to make it premium. It was because these are important and suppose to look best in GT compared to other racing games.

They didn't choose random cars to make premium. But they didn't make premium versions of already existing standard cars either. That is why there are famous and important supercars which will be standard while there are boring (but newly programmed) cars which are premium.

You need some starter cars also for the Premium class.
By the way, there are tons of normal, slower cars, I would rather see as Premium than some supercars.

Yes some classic cars as premium will be great too

SLR is also premium. Ok ,lets wait and see then :p

Yeah, I forgot them.

Driving a Skyline/Impreza/Evo/NSX/RX7/350/370Z clone with the cockpit cam is far more epic then a poor Countrach, right? :guilty:

For me it is.

Isn't this the same mag that confirmed a few months ago that we'd be getting IRL cars too?

If the premium cars contain more than 10% duplicates I will **** bricks.
Oh, I'm sure you will anyway Dev. Gran Turismo seems to be your favorite toilet. :D

I'm hoping that after being reminded how good the Photo Mode pics of cars in GT4 look, some of you calmed down. We can still get that blacked out interior, and just might if you really want it. Remember that in Toca 3, all you had of interior view was a window frame, and frankly I still think it was the best cockpit view ever.

By the way, Turn 10 - and its Vietnamese partners - modeled 400-plus cars in FOUR years or more, not two. They ported the FM2 car list into 3, bugs and all.

OK if more than 10% are duplicates they will be SIDEWAYS bricks. Hows that? :)

Unless I am mistaken they had to model the high res versions of all those cars for the non gameplay sections of the game regardless of importing them for the game mode?

"Common sense with standard and premium cars"
I think the 200+ "premium" cars will be for "GT5 mode" and the 800 "standard" cars will be for a "GT classic mode". A topic that has been mention before but people seem to ignore.
