No, it's GTHD footage. No such thing as premium models back then in 2007 my friend.
You can also see it isn't nearly as detailed as the prologue model.

Those were some of the first "GT5 spec" cars as they were called back then. In other words, today's premium models. The cockpit isn't nearly as detailed there because, most likely, it wasn't finished!

What started all this mess was PD's misleading PR campaign. If they told us from the beginning we were going to have this car segregation we wouldn't be freaking out like this. Instead, they released a prologue with 70 premium cars, showed us incredible videos after incredible videos of premium cars, getting us all worked up with the incredible graphics. And now they drop this bomb. Well, all hell broke lose. Obviously.

It's not a standard car, it was a scratch build GTHD Premium model and again, it's not from 2007 it's from 2006.

I really don't understand the fuss regarding this. There will be 200 premium cars with detailed cockpits, so what is the problem? Sure there are 800 without, but come on, do you want the game now or in ten years time? I'm more than happy with the quantity of premium cars, my only concern being that that I hope the selection is varied, and not just 30 odd skylines, 23 evolutions and an equal number of Imprezas. 👍

I wonder how many extra premium cars they could have done in the time it took them to rehash those 800? You said it yourself there, you hope the content is varied, which is going to be an issue with 200 premium cars. Personally, I'd rather have 500 good cars than 800 'tard cars and 200 premiums.

What I'm saying is they changed their plans a lot after they dropped the GTHD. Therefore, what you saw at that time is not necessarily valid anymore and is a lot more shady than fresh news.

What recent news indicate is, that car is premium now, or they never finished modeling it's interior and it's partially modeled interior wont be in the game.

Well these are some very biased screen shots right there but I get your point

Either way, we all should keep in mind that this bickering about features taking over other more important features doesn't stand on firm ground. Remember that GT was always about bringing together very varied experiences and GT5 is only improving in this aspect. Arguing that they should have focused on one feature you think is more important won't convince anyone. Specially if this person happens to like the feature you're undermining.

All you (and by you I mean anyone placing a feature above another) really accomplish by doing that, is show how you and Kaz have different views about what GT5 should be like.

Hm ok. I'd rather have 2 game modes then, premium and standard.
Standard mode with 30 cars on track with polished GT4 graphics and all of GT5's new features (except for deformation damage)
And Premium mode with 200 fully modelled, beautiful cars.

I loved GT2 as a 5 year old, and i'm going to love GT5 as a 15 year old; if you're a true GT fan you will enjoy the game for what it is and not complain about what it isn't. 200 cars that will be revolutionary in the genre and gaming and 800 normal cars.

If we don't get cockpit view on the 800 standard cars, it'll be a disappointment, but as long as there is a decent bonnet view, I'm not all to bothered.

Thing is, the bonnet view does not communicate as much as cockpit or even bumper cam, as far as how the weight is being distributed, on bumper you can see the most minute changes, like when you tap the brake, or accell or a hi-torque car, bonnet usualy isnt as dynamic.

I bet Kaz wanted to give premium cars a lot of variety. I think the big majority will be new supercars but there will be the odd Cervo and LMP here and there.

It's doubtful they would've been able to significantly up the number of premiums by dropping the standard cars altogether.

I think it's very likely all cars will have cockpit view. Just not rendered interiors.

I think that the Premium cars will have cockpit views like we've seen so far, and standard cars will have blacked-out cockpit views like GT PSP.

But... as ever... we won't know for sure until either PD clears this all up, or we have played the game itself.

Every car they modelled after they've set the premium standards (2006) received the premium treatment. So it doesn't matter if it's a Cervo or a McLaren F1, it will be premium, because that's how they work now.

Old models that were in GT4, were already moddeled, and we know that SOME of those were redone for GT5 (like the R34 or the Golf GTI).

Anyway, the point is, cars that are new to the series, are premium. Yes, i saw the picture with the standard Countach, but it was probably modelled prior to 2006. (we have evidence to support that PD had moddeled Lambo's before, like the one in NTSC-J GT3).

They arew being modelled separately. As you can see by the detsils on Tony Stewart's Newmann-Haas car.

And they count as separate cars, so if they include 25 Nascar cars, that's 25 out of 200 premiuns. PD does not count cars like we wish. They've always counted spec cars with different liveries as different cars. (JGTC-SuperGT cars are a great example).

Bottom line: 200 will seem a lot less once you take out the clones.

We were led to believe the cars in the game had unbelievable graphics inside and out. But now we find out 80% of the cars neither have insides nor look that impressive.

So for me it's not really about what the game is missing, but what we were mislead to believe in.

A long time ago KY announced they were going to make GTHD and no one really liked it so they announced they were making new super awesome cars and everyone liked it.

All they talked about was the new super awesome stuff but basically they just went ahead and silently did what they wanted to the whole time (make GTHD and some super awesome stuff) and knowing we didn't like the GTHD idea they just didn't talk about it.

And now we find out...

This actually fits right in with KYs personality type... any number of the KY devotees on this forum will tell you he is an artist and does what he wants because it's a work of love... so apparently this is what he wants. What these devotees seem to have forgotten was sometimes even a great artist turns out something no one likes.

It's all about managing expectations and there is no way KY and PD didn't know this would be the result. Which is smart for them in a way (although jacked up for us) they lead us on so long and we are so deep that we are all pretty much buying it anyway. I'm pissed, but all that has changed for my buying is that I am not buying it until I can find a good sale ($40 or less).

However between GTPSP and this... it's definitely shifted my faith and trust in PD and I will be severely doubting anything out of that shop for a while to come so this doesn't happen to me again. And what with KY jumping around at car shows, racing and running his academy I honestly think he is not focused on GT anymore the way he used to be... he maybe and artist and it's great when an artist is focused on you and your likes, but when he is focused on something else it's equally bad.

Well I think you're going to far, but well, it's kind of expected since PD stepped on your toes to begin with.

What I'm taking from this experience is to never forget PD/SONY is trying to sell their game like any other company. I thought they were different but it turns out I'm naive I guess.

Luckily the game speaks for itself. And what I've seen so far, even not being as great as I was mislead to believe, is quite impressive. Feels underwhelming now sure, since the GT5 published up until now out-shadows the real GT5, but let's not let out disappointment get the best of us.

It's not the game who's at fault, but the people who are trying to sell it. Ironically they would do a better job if they didn't exist.
