Anes has a point but he's not orchestrating it the right way in my opinion. If someone wants to get back to their best they often need a kick up this arse but not too hard.
'Cuda, do yourself a favor & add this guy to your ignore list.I'm not trying to insult him. It's actually my version of advice. I think 'cuda is a little melodramatic nancy boy. He needs a teaspoon of concrete and I think the defence force would toughen him up and teach him some discipline real quick. You wanna try sneaking off from your crew for drinks in the Army? Pfft good luck considering that a second time.
...
Done with this thread and most likely forum jesus christ
But don't you see? I'll call him that and tell him to toughen up. I'm giving him a chance to take a step forward right there in my post. He shouldn't care what I call him!
So my ex has a new boyfriend, and I don't know why but it's really bothering me. You would think that since I broke up with her I would have no issues at all but it's been 1.5 years now and I'm still bothered by our break-up. Bah, I guess it all will go over once we graduate and the distance between us gets bigger.
So, is this feeling typical or does it hint otherwise?
[FONT=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif]God grant me the serenityIt's nice to hear from you again 'Cuda, and Anes, I understand the help you try to give but depression that deep is a hard thing for someone stable to contemplate. I know the feeling, it sucks, I just kept going day by day. My life might have slapped me around so many times that I should be the dead one, but you just have to think what you can live for, and what you mean to live on this earth. And I'm glad to hear about the job/life thing, seems like a nice baby step foward. And it helps. 👍
It is perfectly normal but I recommend Cartman's method of daily revenge against Kyle from the latest episode of South Park.
'Cuda, do yourself a favor & add this guy to your ignore list.
You obviously have not been following his posts for the past few months. The military only fixes those who are normally juveniles or lazy people. They do not fix people who contemplate suicide, esp. to the point where they begin making nooses & putting it around their necks, only to stop just before the final kick of the chair.
He does not need the military & they won't put up with him until he finally kills himself. He is not drinking & smoking just for the fun of it. It's his depressant (he's already said smoking a cigarette is what just kept him from killing himself because it mellowed him out) & when he can't get it, he may go through with a suicide.
What he needs is therapy, so he can stop relying on the drugs & booze, and deal with why he feels his life isn't worth living. You can't just yank that away from him like in the military, he'll run back to making a noose. If I was over there, I'd personally make the effort to meet up & help him myself b/c he obviously needs some support that he isn't getting from his friends.
In really plain terms, GTFO of this thread with that crap you call advise. Whether it's the GT5 forum, the Motorsport forum, or this thread, you seem to cause tension with everyone & then cry that no one agrees with your posts. So, my confession is that you need to do what you said you'd do here...
As for the 'disease' depression, I don't even believe in it. It's just a state of mind. An excuse for the weak to fall back on.
Hitting them with a sledge hammer may get their attention but it could also hurt them and give a negative opinion of you to the guy who's attention you want.
I take it you've never been depressed.
The fact that you think that quote is actually worth something says a lot.One of my favourite quotes is "Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledge hammer and then you'll notice you've got their strict attention".
It's a shame it came from the mouth of a serial killer but oh well.
You were not being a realist. You were insulting him & giving him bad advice.I generally see things in a different light to the majority of people. I am very much a realist and I don't mind speaking my mind. I offer a completely different way of thinking.
A direction he obviously does not have the will to take. Someone else needs to step in & do it for him.I've given 'cuda a totally different direction to take (sigh .. I'm not talking about the defence force calm down).
He is not a "poor me". I'm guessing you've read 2 of his posts at the very most, but I find it very serious when someone says they're punching walls, & putting nooses around their neck. Now, if he is making this up just for fun & sympathy, fine, he's on his own. But until that point is proven, he is using this forum as a way to vent his frustrations, and if it's helping him in any way, then let him.I'm interested to hear from the man himself to see if I've changed his perspective for the better. His main problem I have noticed is his poor me attitude. I'll stop short at calling that selfish but I've already posted about him not being the only one.
Further proof to me that you should not be giving any advice to 'Cuda. As for the 'disease' depression, I don't even believe in it. It's just a state of mind. An excuse for the weak to fall back on.
The way you reacted, you are as much to blame. Now, I butted heads with the egotists of this site when I made a GT5 thread in an attempt to help the community but I had to ask to get it locked because certain people were focused on destroying it. But it's my fault .. right?
You didn't call out fakes. You flat out made a stupid post saying there is no bravery in F1 & cited that you somehow are more than qualify to make such statements. The motorsport section I call out the fakes because believe it or not I made it to a pretty high level of motorsport in my country and I can spot the dreamers from a mile away. They don't seem to like that. My fault again carry on.
Even more proof you need to stop talking about the topic of depression. It dates back all the way to the 18th century under the term Melancholia. The 'disease' wasn't around 100 years ago. Before that people just had to, wait for it, toughen up. Is a psychiatrist a product of capitalism?

Nope. You're just being an ass as usual & causing tension again. Nothing you said is a view of how things really are like you claim. That's subjective. And I am being a realist but you're just being closed minded.
Wrong again. Already said why.Sounds like something the Army can do amirite?
He's not actually complaining.Yes lets all complain. As long as there is a place where we can complain then everything is golden.
You should just stick to what you know, which doesn't seem to be anything to go with this discussion. If depression isn't a state of mind than what else can it be? A growth? Depression is all in your head. Change your way of thinking and it no longer exists.
Didn't say that. You're still wrong that they aren't brave though. If you can sit there with a straight face and say that modern drivers are braver than the guys pre millennium than you have a serious lack of judgement.
Yeah, just be quiet now. You don't know a thing about depression & believe it doesn't exist, yet over 300 years of research says otherwise. But you're still right b/c you say so.Sounds like they need a boot up their arse to get them moving.
Okay Anes, I hate to getin the middle of Round 3 with McLaren, but do you really understand what depression is? It's not the feeling when you accidentally spilled Chinese food on you new pants and being sad, no, it's full-🤬 blown feelings of death. You don't want to ive anymore. I've honestly myself pondered just ridding of myself of the earthly burden I'm stuck with. I didn't. I hope Barracuda doesn't. You can't just fix the problems of depression, it's a horribly traumatization that puts you on the brink. I really hope both of stop wearing your asses for hats (no offense to either of you, but it's getting out of hand) and just get along. Were not here to argue over Barracuda's depression, but help it in a positive way that you would find of utmost suitabiltiy.
It's not a different position. It's just flat out bad advise b/c you haven't been reading his posts since the beginning.I'll just chuckle to myself about how people are incapable of seeing things from a different position. As I've already said, he doesn't have to listen but it is there.
Just quit. Oh wait, you are. Thank god.The interesting part is I've had those thoughts as well. So have hundreds of millions of other people.
Do you understand?
It's not a different position. It's just flat out bad advise b/c you haven't been reading his posts since the beginning.

TalonI'm not taking Anes' side with this, but how is this quote wrong? Depression isn't a physical condition, so it has to all be in your head, right?
You must be a real treat during saturday nights.
No, really![]()
Well I could easily continue.
>Implying he's unique to everyone else who "suffers from depression".
The quicker he (and you) realise he's not the first person to ever feel like this the better.
And when the "fakes" respond to you, you completely ignore them. Why? Is it because you know they are right?
On that subject, you never did mention what you raced(Note: you have to prove your claims here, if you say you made it to a high level of racing, you better have made it, this is in the AUP you agreed to)
It's funny how you call everyone that disagrees with you an "elitest" or an "egoist", yet you display the same qualities.
More or less he is saying that they can just simply "cure" it by thinking about better things, this is just not the case. If it were there would be no need for insane asylums.
Dude, what is the problem. So what he's not the first person, HE NEEDS SOME HELP! God, can anyone get it through that depression is a problem either genetic or mentally, that causes a person extreme levels of sadness. You can't go off changing it. It's impossible. It takes years of therapy and help for it to subside. Damn, I'm 14, and I still haven't gotten over it, it doesn't just happen. You've really got yourself in a deep hole. Jeez, do you really think that depressed people just walk around feeling l;ke crap because they can? No, they have no other choice because life is ****. Barracuda is a good member, but he faces depression, a problem, whether how in this damn world you see it, and it needs fixed. I hate to get snappy with you (really?) but damnit I know about this a lot more than you will EVER know. You have no idea how hard it is to handle a tough life, maybe it's because some people have a bad mental stability. But I wouldn't argue anymore; if you even had an idea what someone MY AGE has already gone through. I feel like I've lived a wole life now, but no, I'm still here. I recommend you honestly think of what youm are saying, and a question I have for you is how old are you?
And right now, I don't care if the post seems harsh enough for warning or infraction.
You must be a real treat during saturday nights.
