I've gotton some, I told them to wait and sign up here once we started back on this. But since the Rolex series needs more attention now, I'm not worried about this now.

I might join with the RX-8, if I don't miss any races. Well, the RX-8 or an ST car. (Not the Volkswagen or the Miata...)

Question: why is the Z34 so much lighter than the E92/RX-8/Camaro?

Final consideration: What would this series be, without a random rally car?

I think this will be before the Rolex races, or on Fridays starting on season two of Rolex, following the same scheduale.

Next season? I have an idea then... What if we try to persuade people our age (you know, 24 and younger) to join, because we'll make the times convenient for students on summer break? It goes well with the Rolex Series stuff. Also, the Continental guys, I believe, go out before the Rolex guys in real life...

Ya, in a perfect world we'd have some Rolex guys run this, but mostly have this have it's own guys. The races aren't right before (I'll find out when I head to Indy this summer) but there on the same weekend. So we could have these after/before practice or before the races.

Precisely. I meant, that the Rolex series stuff is later in the evening/afternoon, and on weekends, for students who have summer jobs..

So, since no one wants to employ the mechanic who's fluent in four languages (they just don't know what they're missing out on) I've got plenty of time, as long as I get some chores done... turns out, having to pay for tuition will make parents very angry.
 
Well watching the real Continental Tire race today, the WRX the Mustang the Camaro and the RUF 3400S could be included in GS class.

The WRX could be, the mustang was said to be really slow and the guy who did this series a while back said they ended up getting rid of it.

BUT I was thinking.....

And what if we spec ALL cars and then you just get to choose which one youd like to use/sign up for.

and st... well there havent been too many complaints. Another option is just running gs cars and scrapping st?

Well, lets just say if the RUF 3400S which is basically a porsche boxster is as good in the game as in the real life series, it will be a popular choice. It can get very light, so adding ballast to it you can send it all to the rear +50 and get a favorable balance. You also forgot to add the BMW M3. I know it's heavy, but the car in this series aren't as powerful as the ALMS ones, so with 450hp and no wing the M3 should be able to do well even if it's over 1370kg. The Mustang has the same problem, it's weight and distribution of it. I think if this series goes forward, you could always run a double race weekend with GS cars ran after the ST class. So everyone could drive an ST car for a short race, then drive their GS car in the main event?

NO NO NO NO NO. Mustang+WRX+370Z+Mazda+Camaro=autocross.

Believe me, the times can be made similar.

I swear, I wish that the field of cars that showed up today (Supra, RX-7, Camaro, Cayman, etc.) actually did the autocross, but, unfortunately, there were like 867890 spectators who only wanted to watch, despite having the above cars.

I can tell you, though, that the Mustang was actually a little faster than the Corvette ZO6... I think it was the fear of the ZO6 driver to open the throttle, mixed with the fact that the Mustang got the number 15 number plate, by the luck of being the 15th driver registered. Parnelli, if you read this, I approve!



Anyways, my idea, is to run the cars without weight reduction, or any engine upgrades. The real series doesn't really do anything, except maybe the suspension, tires, and brakes. Last time I checked, GT5 balances those out well. After that, if we bump up the slower cars, with a little HP and a stage one weight reduction, it should be okay.


Anyways, if people want to say that the Mustang's slow, I'll run the Mustang... :P

It's not slow, just harder to handle... I think. And I know about the upgrade restrictions, just the rx8 is such a wierd car. And the 370z. I. Just took the cars to Daytona road course, looked up some laptimes from thr real race, and tried to get the cars to do that time.

The Grand Sport (GS) class features exotic international Aston Martin Vantage, BMW M3, Subaru WRX, and Audi S4 going head-to-head with American muscle such as the Ford Mustang GT and Boss 302, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. (ST) class is GRAND-AM’s offering to the import and compact car crowd, with the Honda Civic Si, MAZDASPEED3 and RX-8, Volkswagen GTI and Jetta, Mini Cooper S, BMW 328i and 128i, Ford Focus these are the cars they use in the series
 
The 1 series BMW, the Mini Cooper S, the VW Golf (R), the Mazda RX8 and the Civic are all premium cars that could basically be ST class cars for this series.

Then the V12 Vantage, the BMW M3, the Mustang GT, the Chevy Camaro and the Subaru WRX (STi) are all premium cars that could be GS class cars for this series.

Then you have Standard cars like the RUF Porsche's; the 3400S (Boxster) and the RGT (911). I'm not sure if there is a premium Audi S4 or A4.

Yeah, therefore, let's do it!!! I swear, the best way to have a good series is one/two class series, with cars that are balanced to within half a second in every track.

Also, I have the S4... but, it's sorta older than the RS4 Audi they use IRL.

ya all of the cars in the race were all really close in speed so you should find the HP & WEIGHTS of the cars and use those

I approve of this, unless you want someone whose car just doesn't turn as well. Yesterday, there was a guy on semi-slicks (sports summer tires w/ little/no tread) in a class where the rules state that the tires must be somewhat equivalent to the OEM tires.

I guess he didn't actually read the new rulebook, about the tires on his '97 Tercel/Corolla thing...

I know how much it sucks to be 6 seconds a lap slower.

It'll go with Season II of Polarbear's Rolex series. Season 1's exactly half over.

So races will be either Fridays or Saturday's, about 5-6ish eastern us time. (times may/will change)

I think we need to do Saturday a few hours before the Rolex series race because some of the drivers in the Rolex series race in ALMS and I really wanna race in this and Friday doesn't work for me

5 PM Fridays...? That's a little crazy... Fridays do work for you. ALMS runs at like 8 PM.
