Mount pleasant speedway crystal owosso merrit auto city tri-city cherry and those are all the ones off the top of my head

Dirt or pavement?

I ask because my dad's district covers all of Michigan, and I may go on one or two of his weekly trips and we were talking of going to a race.

Ah, I thought so. Down here in western Pennsylvania, the words right turn and racing are never used in the same sentence! I wish there was a cool kart track or something, but nothing!

Actually you also have a tri city that has kart racing if I looked at something I read correctly anyways lets get back on topic about the series

Well according to google, the closest tri city karting facility is in either Florida or Washington state... That's a little too far for me lol! But there may be a tiny one out in Ohio or something. I'm not too worried!


Does anyone else think that idea of having everyone race both classes and having a race for each class? So it would be a gs an then st race, or vice versa. I think that'd be pretty rad!

I still just want to say, haha, FAIL. I've been to some of the jost prestigious race tracks in the world...... you've been to couple of dirt ovals... ;( Makes me wanna cry, how much you Americans still live in the 30s... ;(:grumpy::ouch::yuck::crazy::dopey:

I mean, really, Autocross etc. is very common in Canada...

Same with the ALMS, at Mosport and Formula 1 & NASCAR à Montréal, au Circuit Gilles Villeneuve...

No offense, but, hop across the border and come try the real racing. Bring $45, and I'll get you set up for an entire season of Autocross.

I've been to a few good ones we have (and there really are only a few) Indianapolis motor speedway (all f1 races, 2 brickyards, 3 Indy 500s and a moto gp) Watkins glen (2 NASCAR, 1 indycar) laguna seca (1 alms) only one because it's across the country! Not really a famous one (like Watkins glen, thats not famous either) but I've been to mid Ohio for a assortment of races too.

And dude I would kill to go to Montreal for f1! One of my favorite circuits on their schedule and fairly close! Thing is my dad has his yearly meetings or whatever in Seattle that weekend! :( and I do mean every year! But once I go to college (or university, for all the European guys, we use both interchangeably) then I think I may scoot across the boarder!

Yeah, I know. Mosport's incredible. ELEVATION CHANGE. I walked on it... Not even the pit straight's flat, which is one of the reasons Formula Yawn doesn't come here. I went to Mosport for the old classic cars and saw some Group C... I got in for free, too, since I was there karting.

Mosport? Oh, man, I loved it. I finished second, in my first race though, so I guess the track/local talent isn't very good/hard to learn? There's SOMETHING missing.

I'm filling spots, thank you... It's like "bumps" without wasting room. It's a conversation that generates a bunch of posts, so that people think "Hmmm, look at all those posts. This series seems pretty active!"

It's the sort of thing that my series doesn't have. :(

And nitro, if you see this... Dude one of those kart tracks is like a hour MAX from my house! Time to look up karts and see what divisions I can race in and stuff! Then present it in the form of a PowerPoint with prices listed!

I think I may accually be able to do it!!!

This Powerpoint being directed at your father? BTW, get a passport, idiot, Mosport's better! :P ^.^

Thing is, you would need some stiff competition, so, I (the 180 pound 6'3" guy) would be happy to be your stiff competition at Mosport once or twice.

It's just a shame, really, that Mosport doesn't balance the horsepower/weight, to balance my 180 pounds, against the damned 90 pound girl who beat me! She's half my weight. :(

I want to race Rotax there, but there's one problem. The straights are too long and boring.

Ya I checked out the tracks website, no real good information. -.- should I call them? Do I have to sign up for leagues and then hope that they have a race there, or do tracks have their own leagues?

Granted, I'm not sure if you'd like the karts, as they're not quite as fast as Rotax (though still fast enough to be fun, and promote good learning, and even better competition...)

That's man! Thing does that only apply to mosport? Im assuming it does. And I have no prior real life racing experience, and judging by that read karts are my best bet!

You're welcome. I actually got started at Cameron Motorsports (the biggest rip-off to ever say "Please, we need you on Canada's National karting team, but, you have to pay for almost everything. Oh, we'll pay for... maybe repairs...?"


Anyways, Mosport, I went there once, in the Arrive and Drive series. Their track will really test your ability to manage the turn-in, and hold the grip through elevation changes. On-board video!

I can repair my own kart. I can't afford a $5000 kart at the age of 12. :(

Actually, even at 18, I can't afford my own kart.

Anyways, gotta go pick my mom up from work, since I borrowed the car to walk the dog.
