Goodbye - SR-71

My December - Linkin Park (mainstream band, I know but this song has a real meaning to it. google it to find out)

Sun of Pearl - An Endless Sporadic (you've probably heard this if you've ever played THAW (Tony Hawk's American Wasteland) (instrumental song)

I forgot my all time favourite song!

Santa Esmerelda- Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

It was playing in the background of Kill Bill, during the Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves.

Bridge to Nowhere - Sam Robert's

He's popular in Canada but I don't know about the rest of the world.

Another one, I'm not sure some people here will like it, but it's never Lies (The Instrumentals) by Lupe Fiasco. I think it's really cool, but I think he took it off his new album :grumpy:

Air - Playground Love
Boards of Canada - Roygbiv
The American Dollar - Everyone Gets Shot
Lol Hammond - Baby Piano
John Murphy - In The House In A Heartbeat
Coldcut - Timber

OK, so some of them are more well known than some on this thread, but most casual radio listeners won't have heard them!

Under the Influence of Giants - Got Nothin'

Heard this on Pandora and bought it on iTunes - totally catchy.

TV On The Radio - "?"

I have no idea what the title of the song is, but it was a rocker! Fast pace song with fast, heavily reverberated guitar work. It sounded great, but when I did a search on this band the music just wasn't the same.

You guys have any clues what song I listened to?

I have an album by Tv On The Radio called "Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes" which is excellent, but you'd have to describe the song a little better for me to have an idea which song it is.

Dangerous Power- Gabriel & Dresden

Twelve (Dousk Mix)- Tilt

Energize- Mentally Detached

01Blue Fragment- Gingermoth

the last 2 are underground guys...

J5 is awesome, but unfortunately not around anymore. Never really thought of them as an unknown group either.

One of their guys Chali 2na (you know, the guy w/ the really deep voice) has been working on some pretty sweet solo albums though.

His first was called "The Fish Market"
The newest one is called "Fish Outta Water" and just came out earlier this month.

They both have some J5 style songs, but a lot of it is combined with reggae music, with reggae artists such as Roots Manuva, Tippa Irie, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley.

As far as non-reggae artists, he's got a song or two with some of his old J5 members, and a good one with Talib Kweli.

Run Home by. Priestess.
Ever since I got their album, 'Hello Master' this has been my most played song by far.
I found out about them through their song on Guitar Hero 3- 'Lay Down'

My ipod has so many odd songs on it, including Mary Had a Little Lamb (by Stevie Ray Vaughn), the Polish National Anthem (performed by Happy Louie), several midi versions of popular songs (Knight Rider Theme, Macgyver Theme, What is Love), the music from Sim City 3000, some hilarious songs from edible castle (No Forks), even some of the songs from the Brave Little Toaster and sequels (Cutting Edge, B-Movie, Home Again). I'm pretty wierd like that.

However, there are some "good" songs on it as well, that weren't very popular. The Big Generator CD by Yes had some great songs, like I'm Running (A song with a strange rhythm and two different musical themes, one happy and one mysterious), Almost Like Love, (I find this song funny, but it's a good song) Shoot High Aim Low, Holy Lamb (both slower but very powerful), and of course Big Generator (So random and exciting, and some cool horn parts).

Some good songs by Asia as well, like Time Again (my favorite on the particular CD), Cutting it Fine, Sole Survivor, and Without You (They're all kind of pop, but still have some rock in them).

Days of the New have some pretty good songs too. The ones I find best in a way that others will probably like it are Skeleton Key (Just music that reminds me immensely of Crash Bandicoot), Shelf in the Room, Enemy, Bring Yourself, etc.

Finally, Subdivisions and Working Man are great songs by Rush, but I'm not sure if those are actually unknown songs. Probably not, but worth listening to if you haven't heard them already.

Sorry for the long post. I have a lot of songs that I really wish other people knew about.

You guys should check out Zebrahead, and Mayday Parade if you havnt heard them before. 👍

AngloAmerican

Everyone should have heard about ZH, although too few have, atleast around here.. Love em.. Heard Panty Raid?

I listen to Leftover Crack, never met anyone who have.. Or Hilltop Hoods.

Killswitch Engage - In The Unblind. I absolutely love this song, especially the pre-chorus. This is the original version of the song recorded as a demo in 1999, it was also released on their first album in 2000.
