Hatebreed - In Ashes they shall reap
Chimaira - Power Trip

These songs got so much power - perfect for physical training. Warning: This songs may make you aggressive.

I think most people a fan of metal have heard of Killswitch Engage, Chimaira and Hatebreed. (BTW In Ashes is amazing song) so is the rest of that album (Self-Titled.)

Ankla is one of my new favorite bands.. Its latin metal so its quite different but very very awesome and don't hold back on being loud and in your face. Also some very good moshing music. :D

That growl is awesome too..

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.

It's a very mellow song, but at the same time is very moving in the way Gordon tells the tale of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald (which if you don't know was the most famous disaster to take place on the Great Lakes).

I dont think many people really know Dream Theater! Thats my opinion! Not a mass band!

The popularity of a band is not an opinion... They are the Prog Rock/Metal band of the 200x's. A none mass band won't have 1.5 year long world wide tours like Dream Theater. I LOVE DT, but they are extremely well known but that doesn't make them bad.

One of the best prog rock song and band ever in my opinion, I put a youtube link with the english translation of the lyrics in the description.
This band really need to be more popular.

Area - Luglio, agosto, settembre (nero).

Discovered this in a thread for what members wanted as the GT5 opening theme:

"Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zep... oh wait...

Spangle Call Lilli Line - Veek:

The best japanese band you never heard.

Maybe it's familiar:

Edit: I always seem to be the first or last person on a page lately. Odd.

Here are some awesome unappreciated songs/artists.

John Brown... What a 🤬 great jam. I've rattled my car pretty hard with those deadly bass lines. And Ginger Baker is freaking awesome in this song.

A great guitarrist and probably the best here in Portugal! Enjoy Gonçalo Pereira:)👍 his the ALIEN around here ! Please comment:D!

Just love this last song! But not a great quality vid! Still worth it to watch it till the end! GREAT melodic SOLOS!

I know you're thinking of passing this post by without listening to any of these songs. If you like rock, I can almost guarantee you're gonna like my first recommendation, and if you live in the US - I'm willing to bet you've never heard it. So give the the song a listen on youtube and if you like it, try the rest.

In the US, people have heard of Big Wreck but they typically haven't heard anything off of their final album - and there's a ton of great stuff there. If you've never heard these songs before, do yourself a favor check these out:

Big Wreck - Ladylike

Big Wreck - Blown Wide Open
Big Wreck - Prayer

Apologies to folks in other countries who might know these songs backward forward and upsidown. They were never big here. Another really fantastic song that nobody seems to know about is this one:

Pilot Speed - Melt into the Walls

Another really really really underrated guy that I'm not sure how many people are familiar with is Ian Moore. I know he was big in Austin, but I think lots of people haven't heard his stuff. You might have heard Satisfied or How Does it Feel, maybe even Float Away, but there's so much more.

Ian Moore - Leary's Gate
Ian Moore - Morning Song
Ian Moore - Please God
Ian Moore - Time of Dying
Ian Moore - Today
Ian Moore - Magdalena
Ian Moore - Closer
Ian Moore - Blue Sky

If you live in Austin, I apologize because I'm sure you know those songs backward, forward, and upsideown.

Other good songs you might not have heard:
Podunk - Dashboard Mary
Bedlight for Blue Eyes - Midnight Symphony
Alter Bridge - Open Your Eyes
Cracker - Everything
Spacehog - Shipwrecked
What Made Milwaukee Famous - The Jeopardy of Contentment
Chris Rea - Texas
Daniel Lanois - Sonho Dourado

Ok, that's gonna conclude my Rock/Blues suggestions.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Röyksopp, you should really get familiar with them. They've got a ton of great stuff.

Röyksopp - Poor Leno
Röyksopp - Triumphant
Röyksopp - What Else Is There (I've seen this mentioned elsewhere in this thread)
Röyksopp - Only This Moment.mp3
Röyksopp - 49 Percent
Röyksopp - Röyksopp Forever
Röyksopp - Alpha Male

... of course there's more. Along the lines of those last two, I've found some really fantastic electronic groove music like these:

Groove Armada - Edge Hill
Delerium - Tectonic Shift
Ratatat - Kennedy
Ratatat - Loudpipes
Ratatat - Seventeen Years (skip first 7 seconds)
Benassi Brothers - Light
Massive Attack - Angel
Gabriel & Dresden - Tracking Treasure Down
Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets

Last but not least, if you've always lived in the US you might barely know who Kylie Minogue is. If that's the case, check out her latest album "X". There's a lot of great stuff there.

If you like heavily instrumental, orchestral, music with an epic sound (epic is actually meant as descriptive there rather than simply meaning "cool"), check out E.S. Posthumus and Globus.

If you try any of these suggestions, give me a response. I'd like to know whether I wasted my time with this post.

I hear them on the radio all the time... or were those just all the other bands that they sound exactly like.

Anyway, I've really been digging this girl K.Flay. Here's a song she did with MC Lars:

She has a better remix album.

And then there's MC Lars's latest track with probably everyone else that is awesome. That Tina girl from Small Halo is terrible, though. She can't hold a tune at a live show worth a damn.

I've recently been listening to a tune called "Thé à la Menthe" which is extremely well known, but not by title. And extremely hard to track down in its original form.

It's sometimes credited to La Caution, sometimes to Nikkfurie/Hi-Tekk and sometimes to Kourtrajmé (Nikkfurie & Hi-Tekk are La Caution, and La Caution belong to an "artistic collective" called Kourtrajmé), and you'll know it as "The laser dance sequence tune from Ocean's Twelve". Inexplicably left off the soundtrack for the film, the only place I've found the track available is on Amazon downloads...

Yuck. Am I actually going to say this? Omnis, I like your taste in women better.

Yeah, not the best example. But it's something different.

Found this song to be pretty cool:

It's J-Rock. Super cool music video, even if you don't like the music.

I watched this only a few nights ago, good song. I know what you mean about tracking down songs though, I found a really nice one from a Puma ad but I cannot for the life of me find any info on it. I know who it's by but tracking the actual track down is seemingly impossible.

EDIT: Here is what I'm on about.

The song is (Master) Only One by World.

I love that song. Have been trying for a while to find it myself. 👍

Jake Kaufman aka Virt, if you like chiptunes you'll love this guy:

Currently itunes single of the week, hope this makes it big.

Very cool.

We often get sent early review copies of albums at work, most of the time its artists you've never heard of or wouldn't want to listen to, but sometimes you'll discover a gem in all the tat. I already had some early David Holmes stuff from back in the day, but didn't realise he was even still making albums.

I loved this from the first time i listened to it. It can't of had a very wide release, i can't even find a proper video to it:

Fyfe Dangerfield has the best name ever. I didn't know he did any solo stuff, but I like the music he does with Guilemotts.

I got Crown City Rockers' new album. They are such a fresh band.

Here's a quick video of them practicing one of their new songs called "Soul".
