Exactly. And it's why top speed is not achieved in top gear because the RPMS are too low for the engine to produce enough power to overcome wind resistance, so top speed is probably reached in 5th or 6th gear. There must be something wrong with that one person's game if they could not get it out of 4th gear on the final straight at Nurb... there was a video link where the car got into 5th at Indy.

The Nissan GT-R is 1730kg but still handles great.

I was not comparing the two cars, I was just using the GT-R's curb weight to show that 1500kg is not so heavy, relatively speaking. Should've known better than to bring up Godzilla.

All other "concept" or prototype cars in GT5 can be tuned, but this one cannot? Is this because IRL this car is a pre-production model still in final stages of development and is not yet available to the public, or to any tuners for their development of performance parts?

To a degree the other concepts and prototypes are, again though they are severly limited in what you can do to them (the GT-R Black mask being a good example as from what I recall, all you can do is change color).

You can tune the Black Mask and change wheels.
 
Well there goes all of my excitement. Yea yea, I understand its a final prototype and all that. But its still a huge disappointment that you can't tune the thing.. And the fact that you can't even change the color of the thing is absolutely stupid.

Is it basically the same car as the covered prototype but without the tarp? Does it handle the same? I know it has a different trans in it but how doesn't it compare in the corners?

It doesn't feel as stiff, I would say. The new transmission does a lot to it though.
 
Stiff as in understeer? Or stiff as in the suspension? Because the tarp car was no where near stiff. It was like a giant pillow.
 
208mph (LOW in 6th since its basically impossible to ever get into high in 6th or 7th) Under its own power, 285mph drafting (@ 5k rpm in 7th). Numbers seem a bit un-realistic but im not complaining, im still driving a c7 before anyone else so i dont care haha
 
I'll break in the car on an enduro and see what it can do on it's own power after breaking the motor in.
 
The only difference between the Black Mask (and even the '05, which wasn't even a prototype because in real life it didn't even have an engine) is that you can't change the body panels. You can tune it and change the wheels and paint it. That points towards it being an arbitrary GM decision, because being a concept has had no bearing on the tuning ability for any of the other cars in the game.



It's a stupid restriction, at least for colors and wheels, because GM has already shown off a lot more color and wheel choices than you can get in GT5. But it is what it is.

But what if I asked him back: "Would the GT-R be even faster and more agile if it was lighter?"
Answer: Yes, it would. ;)

But to perform, a car does'nt need to be lightweight, which ofcourse is true. ;)

I'm betting it's exactly the same as the 'masked' prototype which is 478 bhp.

Well, considering his self-assurance (let's call it that, arrogant sounds so negative ;)), he might even claim he could make it much faster whilst even heavier and as big as a house but they wouldn't let him. :D
