I played Counter Strike for the first time this weekend. I played for about 30 minutes then continued to play the single player for Half Life 2. Mabey Counterstrike would have been more fun if I was in a different server. There were over 10,000 servers to pick from so I had no idea where to ever start. The room I was in was just the same thing over and over again and I got quickly bored.

So are you saying to look for Iceworld the next time I am on??? I want to enjoy this game but have no idea where to even go. I didnt realize this was on online only game too. I thought there might be a single player that I could play.

If you want a story line Counter-Strike, then Condition Zero is the one.
It too has online play, but also 2 sides to missions. CT or T missions.

I haven't registered it through online yet, but the missions in single player are pretty good for kicking up some action 👍
The only different from Source is probably the graphics and physics of the players (getting shot, etc.)

Its pretty good though if you don't want 1.6.

I ahve 4 IP Addresses, but I don't know how to put them in and get to a server.

All my fellow GTP Counterstrike Source players, we must get a game going soon. I play every night, but it's much more fun when playing with people you know. There was an idea a while back for a GTP Clan so if anyone wanted to get that started, maybe we could make it happen. Just message here if you want to play, I'll be playing for the next couple of hours.

Don't worry mate we get around playing against each other some day. If you see a peice of artwork of a ant lion or a zombie on a server when you join, it may be me of left my tracks online. On the servers, or if you hear MP5 shots in any games you go on.

It may even be my tracks again.

Wow, I never noticed thisthread before.

My favourite combo is a Five-seveN and the Scout (custom model). Unfortunately, I fried our 'gaming' (I use that term loosely) computer, so I haven't played in a while.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite combo, if I'm CT I'll usually use the M4 or the AUG, I don't usually care about buying a pistol usually hah. When I'm terrorist, I love the SIG552 (?) and the Glock is great. I'm also trying to get good with the M3, but that usually just ends up with me dying after getting one round off. Got to love the pump though.

I'm on literally every night from about 1 to 5/6 am Central time. Not sure what that is where you are. If I ever see you on Xfire playing I'll be sure to join your server and make my presence felt, haha.

I used to play CS everyday. It's prolly the only game I've played more than GT1-4. I was in CAL for a couple matches but my clan sucked and I didn't really like it. I like the randomness of pubs. I still play 1.6 on and off, mainly becuase I get ridiculously good pings at college.

Hey thats really good , right now i'm back at home away from uni on my computer - much more decent than my laptop lol. 128mb graphics card on my pc to an 8mb graphics card on my crusty old vaio lol, still i manage to play Counterstrike on it without any lag - one of the things i like about this game especially - still wandering why it doesn't lag on my vaio though, the 512mb ram may make up for it i guess !!.

So when do you plan on getting it

Yes indeed it does. By setting up a multiplayer game you can chose how many bots you want to play in the game. I usually add 9 so you get 5 in a team. It's a good way of learning the maps, but the bots follow preset routes rather than actually being smart so i usually go AWOL from the team

Bots are very boring trust me...they're good to only practice aiming . You're better off finding a server and learning from in there. Find the people who consistently get high scores, and just follow them around, see how they play. It's the quickest way to start playing well.
You might want to learn how to 'spray' as well, but it's pretty easy in CS:S.

Yep, just start multiplayer server, and then put in a password.

I just played with the bots for a few minutes and got destroyed. I put in quite a few which might not been a good idea. However it was really really fun.
