Id destroy it, but the value to scientific research is too great. In fact, Ive got a personal copy at home that I analyze frequently trying to figure out just how its possible to mate with eight different species while upside down in a zero gravity environment.

Are you seriously not sure if they were joking or not? The Weekly World News is pure comedy, and on more than one level. First, there's those of us who just laugh our asses off every time we see it at the grocery checkout. I've even bough it a couple times because I just had to show it to people and share the laughter. I see it as pure satire, a satire of all the other tabloids, the pinnacle of absurdity; it's practically surreal.
The second level is the fact that some people actually believe it! Can you believe that ?! That is the funniest thing of all. Or is that just stupifying? Words fail to describe the intellectual depravity revealed by this phenomenon.
Like I said, I'd love to write that stuff. Just start writing the most absurd thing you can think of. Presto! Weekly World News Material.
And Meglomaniac, UK press doesn't exactly have the best reputation in the US. Some people think your "serious" journalism isn't far off from Weekly World News.
