You know, I actually agree with you. There are a lot of entitled people, nowadays, who don't want to work for what they want. However, I only agree with your idea when it comes to real-life, not video-games. We need to separate the two because one is important to a person's development, as a productive member of society, and another one is just entertainment. When it comes to entertainment, people want different things, people have different opinions about what they consider entertaining, and entertainment is supposed to be about pleasure and to forget about real-life for a moment. When it comes to choosing their entertainment, everyone is entitled to pick how they want to be entertained. Personally, I strongly dislike the grind in games, I much prefer to get the point of the game, to get to the racing. Working to earn money to buy stuff can be enough of a hassle in real-life and I don't need that to bleed over to my entertainment.

"But what about the sense of accomplishment?" What "accomplishment"? You're playing a video-game. It's not real. I don't have a problem with being proud of your virtual achievements, but don't forget they're just that: virtual. "I bought a 15 million dollar car..." "Wow! That's amazing!" Thank you. Getting a car for free wasn't my sentiment, at all. I do, actually have enough credits to buy the thing, but I buy cars to race with, not to look at. I was just wondering how the price can be justified, considering how many superior race cars are available at a fraction of the price. I thought maybe there was something exceptional about the Miura that I wasn't aware of. ....... and I'm gen X, not a millenial.

This is cool and all, but guys, stop conflating real-life with a video-game.

Yes, this car is the only prototype left and it's the oldest Miura in existence... in real-life.

In-game, this exclusivity does not exist. It's a car that can be bought many times, from a regular dealership, and never runs out of stock. There's even a chance that you'll just have it gifted to you. Imagine the odds of having this car simply gifted to you IRL.

In real-life, there's no questioning this car's high value. It's incredibly rare and it's a significant piece of motoring history that deserves to be preserved.

In Gran Turismo, it's just another car on the list. The real world value doesn't translate at all. Like any other car, you can buy and own as many of them as you want, paint them, modify them, crash them and thrash them around a track without consequences, and so on. The only value this Miura has in the game, to distinguish it from other cars, is its performance, for better or worse. I agree with the OP that, at the very least, the car should be priced according to its performance level, its racing ability, because that's what ultimately matters in a racing game. So, if it's not even close to beating an LMP1 around a track, there's no reason it should cost fifteen times as much.

To buy all the cars ( not including what you could win With daily workout or other prize cars ) will cost about 156,690,790 credits ( if my maths is correct ). What does it matter how you achieve it or if you want to or not, it’s a game you play how you want there’s no right or wrong way. So I see no problem with how anyone gets cars or how they play the game it’s just escapism.

To be honest I don't even know why you have to buy cars at all. It's an antiquated game mechanic left over from previous titles, when winning Single Player races gave you money to buy cars that were required to progress in the game.

GT Sport is centered around Sport Mode. One make races "give" you whatever car is required. If there was a Miura daily race, you wouldn't need to own it to partake. So what's the point of buying cars then? GT League and online lobbies. thats it?

Anyway, I've made over 200m credits so it's not an issue for me. I just want people to play & enjoy this game, and this seems like something that would turn people away.

Yes, used Fully Customised Transmission to stretch out max speed to give the car a chance at the long straights against N800 class cars. Gearing ratios left at stock. Lowered ride height with stiffened suspension and anti-roll to balance car, and tweaked camber and toe for the way I drive at Nordschleife. Turned off TCS to get full range of throttle control, with 1st stage weight reduction to make it nimble

GT heritage. The saving and buying part has always been integral to the GT experience and removing it would make it an entirely different game (to me) to the one I know. Possibly even a deal breaker on whether I bought it.

For playing the game, agree.

I actually liked to grind/replay LMP1 Indianapolis seasonal event in GT6 because i enjoyed testing different cars first starting with stock setup before tuning and then compare them. Also payout was good (~1million in 6mins), it was more personal hotlapping than grinding.
...But there's countless different playstyles in Gran turismo & some people may actually like the KTM RSS Oval grind, but for me, such combo is just a waste of time and sim racing equipment unlike the Indianapolis seasonal event. (Would rather use pad for such combo)

P.S. Had ~1000 invidual cars both in GT5 & GT6, not because of collecting, but i wanted to test them all.

There's a 25% chance of winning it, from a 4/228 (1.75%) chance of it even appearing in the carousel. That means you should win it once every 160 days (22 weeks, 6 days) - assuming no further cars are added to the game.

when the 20 mil Jag and Ferraris came out i thought I'd never save up enough to buy them, then won both within a week or so of that update in the daily workout spin. maybe I was just incredibly lucky? but I think pd use these cars as an incentive to play every day for the chance of winning them.

You’re much luckier than I am. Out of the 267 reward cars I’ve earned, none have been the Ferrari 330p4, the Jag XJ13, Lamborghini Miura or even the Ford GT40.

Now although i understand what you are trying to say its being like that since GT5 & if you noticed every car from GT6 that came back to GTS kept its original price tag so you making a thread quastion it its pointless , i have lost the Ferrari 330 P4 from the Dailly workout 5 Times! but i didn't complain about it.
Also be thankfull you can buy anything at any time & its not behind a stupidly hard task in order to obtain it , + you want the game to be as realistic as possible right? well thats not the case only for physics & sounds im afraid.

After one night and half day of Blue moon bay elastic auto drive , i've finally bought the Miura.
I really don't understand why PD spend so much time to make this wonderfull modelling work , the car look amazing , it's a real pleasure to use the cockpit view, but they 've put an horrible stock tune on it. Too soft suspensions , with the rear passing over the tires grip so easy ....
Some stock cars are very well build in this game , some others like the miura are just not done properly ! slapdash jobs .
Fortunately , the setting range allow to correct the problems.

I just bought the vintage Ferrari race car for $20M and it will take another 8 months to save up credits for the Miura. I just don't play that often, for good reasons, which is another conversation entirely. I agree with the OP, $15M is too much. Although I am not asking the car to be free
