so already no more "vegetation" moving... real dynamic shadows are non existent in the video.. AI looks ok at best...

that video looks pretty empty to me...
I have been looking forward to this game for over a year now and its one of the only PC games I am excited about but I think I actually agree with you. The AI looked terrible in that video and I saw a massive drop in frame rate with the first explosion. I know the game is still in development but that video I just posted was disappointing. After everything I saw in the beginning of this thread I have had my hopes set very high for this game. Maybe I should lower my expectations. I wonder if all the trees can get cut down like they have been saying since the beginning. You are supposed to be able to shoot any tree anywhere and thats where it will break.

Well i suppose as the development cycle avance, they must be cutting a lot of those "cool" but gameplay/story irrelevant features they spoke about. I'm extremely disapointed as well to be honest. I was actually looking forward to seeing the power of the engine. I guess its gonna be another one of those shooters... except you jump really high and punch really hard... (sounds like crackdown right now...hehe).

He mentioned they are about to reach alpha development stage, meaning the one playable level they were showing was still non-optimized code. Running on a fast (single core) Intel CPU and a single Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX board, the game ran smooth for the most part on an impressive 2048x1536 resolution, with some choppiness noticed when things got really busy on the screen.

This is the same demo or same level but they destroy different things and show off some other physics.
I like the part in the video when he starts blowing the tires off the truck. I still dont see the trees getting cut down like we have seen in other videos.
CES 07 Enemy Base Destruction (22mb)

currently downloading at the moment, will give my impressions of this when I see it, this and Alan wake will be must haves to make me want a new high end pc.

thx for headsup on new vids :) they look great but i was expecting better.

Yeah I understand. They sure dont give us very much do they.

The German PcPowerplay has a great movie plus an interview with the developers of Crysis. Very cool vid :)

uhh... on an 8800 eh... I wonder how that will work on a 7800gt then. :cough: 360 :cough:

a while ago, the devs said the 360 and ps3 were too weak to run crysis... but then recently, the devs said crysis would be able to run on a 3 year old system ...

That was easily one of the most impressive videos I have seen of Crysis. The nuke explosion at the end made my jaw drop. Now that was impressive physics. I sure hope my computer can handle this game. Its one of the few games I wanted for sure when I had my gaming PC built last year. Its also the only PC game I plan on buying this year if Crysis comes out this year. I hope I can at least run with some decent settings.

Good luck with that... Sounds like if you don't have something pretty recent, like Vista OP or newer you're screwed. Not to mention there's the whole directx 10... xD

XP or Vista will do. I haven't seen any technical papers showing the limits of DX9 vs. DX10 in regards to this particular game and how heavy it will utilize that technology.

Expected to be released in 2007, but with no specific date set, my guess is it will be 2008 before we get our hands on it, and in that case, my PC will probably be outdated to run it.

Great video though, and once again...waiting patiently for it's release.

Yeah i just watched those two vids earlier today, they are very impressive. Love the way you can create terrain and you can dig into it to create over-hangs, tunnels and caves 👍

I also like that you can drop AI characters into the environment and battle them immediately - I can imagine spending an hour creating a small battlefield with mixed terrains, chucking a whole load of AI chars. into a base at one end and then spawning at the other :) Can. Not. Wait. The Sandbox is going to be as fun as the game itself.

Pako, is your PC still specced up at the 4800, 2G RAM and CrossFire area? My PC is at the same as that but with a single 7800GTX. I'm hoping that Crysis will come out in August 07, but even if it comes out in early 08 i'm hoping that my PC will only need to upgrade to a DX10 card. Surely the CPU and RAM will be sufficient to support the game? What plans did you have in mind for upgrades?

Wait are you sure WE can do that? I was under the impression those videos were to show off the Crytech 2 game engine. It showed how to move the AI around and everything and what they do to design a level. I am pretty sure we wont be able to do all of that.

I don't know for sure, but i would have thought the sandbox they provide with the game will be pretty similar if not the same. The SB included with FarCry was excellent and provided a huge amount of customisation, so i'm hoping this will be the case with the Crysis one too.

I have been wanting to get it for well over a year now and it just keeps getting bumped. Is there any more information or updates about the game?? By the time it comes out my gaming PC will definetly be outdated.

Here are the ship dates that have been bumped. 10/6/07---1/1/07---9/4/07-----now 11/13/07
