This evening I felt an urge to race and since after running the open wheel I just can’t get into gr2 Suzuka I ran a race a few...
Qual at 11.6. Good for top half of grid starting in a s room.
Good race very fun. Ended fifth.
Second race I had a fella behind me race clean for 1 lap behind me. I was in second or third I think...I believe it was lap three he became impatient and jammed His car by with a nice classic hairpin diveswipe T3. He had no hope of making the turn without contact. I didn’t lose much speed though and ended up getting back by when then he decides to wait for the hairpin before the long straight to force himself inside sideswiping me again. Ok game on.
T1 I caught enough to clip him barely, which upset his car, t1 but I lost a spot. T2 I got both spots back with a sweet inside sideswipe.
I would have held it too except I got bonked by the guy behind me allowing the 44k dr 2300 race moron to catch.
Again pretty much punted before the straight. He got a pen but passed THROUGH the pen zone ghosted while losing no speed. I swerved to avoid him since it looked like he was trying to block me and unghost then I realized the truly ugly and dirty diver was going for the inside at all costs on the right hand sweeper.
Full throttle he steers left on the RIGHT TURN and takes me off...
Little did he know he only made himself slow and the dirty guy behind him took him off after t1 t2 I think...
Almost caught him at the end he finished nine I finished ten.
SO the result of his impatience was instead of a podium or top four a ninth!
Nice work bud.
Next race I met up with a friend and he got my inside t1. Couldn’t catch and he claimed second.

Things get more serious at AS people will do anything you let them. You really have to keep them from being able to do anything. Like I said, I get away from one guy and I honestly believe the fella behind made a mistake, but it upset my car and allowed mr 2300 to catch. Top rooms you better be able to pull mid eleven in race or the hoard will get you. It’s good fun I will do more later this week.

Mr 2300 is on the list. If I am there he won’t have fun. To me a diveswipe is just as bad as a punt. I remember these things.
Lol just looked and he’s almost down to sr A.
Hey bud still 99 here what happened?

Stay thirsty, my friends

I did some more of race a today.
Stacked some wins, got my dr up finally.
A pretty good session that was.

That was it for me for tonight, gotta work tomorrow lol. Great race man! And tonight in general, that was a ton of fun again. I couldn’t catch you there at the end, it was nice to finally get to run a few laps with you, always a pleasure Sir.

Oh, and this is what happened to me, I’ve done this twice tonight now, same place, same reason(none).

Great race indeed! That was a lot of fun, made up for the race before  The dog didn't mind getting a bit longer walk while my car sat in the pit, although it is still raining bleh. I've done that move in the gravel as well, hence I'm now a bit too apprehensive in that corner. At least that allowed me to catch back up for a great race after! Great finish foto btw, share pls :)

I messed up my tires early in that race with this move

I was too busy checking my mirror and the time gap since that Tom dude behind me had already hit me yet again. In the next race I followed him for a while and he bumped every car he passed. He's fast but giving us non qualifiers a bad name grrr.

I'm still not any wiser what happened here exactly

That's how I fell back due to that 3 sec penalty. You are the nr 10 car there narrowly escaping the chaos. It looks like 11th slammed on the brakes for the slight right and 12th drove straight into him.

The race after wasn't much different. Definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. 3 sec penalty from someone turning into me like I don't exist. He quit of course. A lot quit that race.

Still a pretty good result despite penalty time served.

@NosOsH secured a solid second place again. I managed to improve my best lap to 1:50.034 :)
u6rd.jpg

If only I had someone to draft I could break into the 1:49s Next time!

Great racing!

Tried and quit another race. :(

Race A. Got pole position but pushed around then knocked off with no chance at catching up to last place so decided to quit. I hate quitting but driving alone at the back after getting shoved off gets old. I've been doing that way too much lately.

In the etiquette videos they stress motor sport is a no contact sport. But Sports Mode is a full contact sport at the moment.

Ive been watching for a t300rs gt sale and it never seems to go on sale. The g29 was 250 at christmas then 300 a few weeks ago. Back up to reg price of 399 for a week. Now on thursday it will be 250 at best buy again and i am very tempted to just pull the trigger on a g29 sale this time. Is the t300rs that much better? Its 419 right now but will it ever be $100 off or more? Lol

Never got around to doing race c tonight. Slighlty improved my qualy time though.

I shift in 6th gear, maybe I can win some time this way
This was my dilemma after qualifying in the 4c yesterday. Whether I should ever shift to 6th. I found staying in 5th gear was slightly faster for me (less than a hundredth of a second) after comparing both. I'd suggest to try both and see if there's a preference or difference for you. It's negligible at best.

I didn't see any alien replays to see if they're shifting. I may check a few of them out eventually.

I did watch the firestorm top 10 (pos1. 1:16.1xx  ) video. He did use 6th gear, tried to replicate that, but my 4c seems to lack some HP to keep speed up. :p
So for me, keeping on the 5th is way faster than changing to 6th. Now I think that this is because I just cant keep corner speed high enough.
In the end of first tunnel, the fast right hander, I can keep my speed 211-220 km/h with 5th. 200-207 with 6th. Also the speed on the straights seems to be same.
Little more practice, and Im sure that the 6th speed will be usefull.

I will try it this afternoon. Think the right is right in 5th, and then on the straight maybe 6th gear, but who knows. I think on 5th it is easier to take this one as fast as i can.

Funny you should mention that, I was wondering the same exact thing..... I currently have the g29 and have been thinking about making the jump to the t300rs gt. Best Buy has it right now for $305. Either that or I am going to make the jump to Fanatec.

PD puts the cars on Race B at s slow pace starting the first qualifying lap. Instead of going around an entire lap knowing that I cannot possibly improve my time, I decided to turn around and go back a bit to get a better run up... then PD pulls this

It's not ideal when there's not enough track to build up to racing speed however I believe it's to stop situations like in Bathurst where you could use the whole run-off at Murray's Corner to get a slightly higher speed when crossing the start finish line than if you just used the racing line.

If Canada had that sale id probably buy a t300 rs gt asap. Im kinda pissed it never goes on sale here but US can get $94 off.

The T300RS (GT edition) is a much better wheel than the G29 IMHO.
I had a G27 (which is similar to G29) + DriveHub adaptor and can say that the T300RS is smoother and you get more feedback (like understeer rumble). The G27/G29 has a small dead-spot in the centre which some people hate, and I don't regret buying the T300RS. I think the T150RS PRO is more comparable to the G29?

If you think Canadian prices are bad, here in New Zealand the RRP of the G29 is ~$500NZD (which is about 430CAD I think), the T300RS GT edition is ~$850NZD, T-GT ~$1400NZD and we can't buy Fanatec gear in NZ either! And yeah, I waited until the T300RS GT edition was on sale for $675NZD which still seems expensive when I look at international prices......

Now we have three Japanese Races. Really think, that next we will have a European week. Maybe an Easter update with a new track. Hope that we get surprised this weekend with a new track.

Finally took the time to do Race C... Ice Skating!
First corner was like a Blade Movie with many cars trying to ice skate uphill (i have no idea what that analog is supposed to mean) including me, a trip to the gravel bed or rather 4 in this race, the Medium tires are GONE by lap 5. I can understand that PD wants to challenge us, but the tires change so fast that it gets frustrating instead of predictable..

Okaaaaay, So, I bought the CAyman and did a qualy run. Car feels super slow. Yet, I went fastest than all the cars I've used. 0.007 seconds quicker and that was hitting the walls a few times. but hey...

The T300 GT is definitely a nice wheel, I got it just after Xmas when it was on sale at BestBuy for $100 less than the G29, I absolutely love it so far. 👍

Great racing!

Thanks man, you too! I’m doing the same thing there now, letting off way to much and losing time, I can plow right through there with no TCS or tire wear. I gotta stop looking at the outside edge of the road and look where I want to go. I’ll share that pic when I log on today, it turned out nicely.

I don’t remember that mess happening behind me really, I do remember seeing you spin out, but I didn’t see what happened, looks like I narrowly missed a pileup there. Or maybe I cause it? I wonder if I tapped my brakes in front of that orange Lexus? I’ll have to check the replay now. :)

That Tom guy is the one who bumped me a few times and off once as well, you’re right, he’s fast but very reckless in his passing, he just pushes through wherever he wants to. I was gonna run him off but I couldn’t catch him after the bump pass in race 2.

As always, it was a please and a lot of fun man. Until next time!

So I was curious about setting times on the DS4 for the A and C races. I ended getting times that were .5 and .7 seconds slower than my best (which was on the wheel). However, at least to me, it feels MUCH harder to get those times on the DS4. Is it just me, or do other DS4 players also feel that it is much harder to get better times?

I'm DS4 only, no wheel so hard to compare. Would love to know how I compare in the times to other DS4 users, as I've always assumed it's much easier to be smooth (fast!) and consistent on the wheel.

I can barely come within a second of my wheel times on a DS4 now, great job man! I find it very difficult, did you have to turn any assists on?

DS4 as well. Wish it showed who uses what for the qualy times.

Wait for it...

I saw this happen in one of my replays only that he hit the wall himself, lost control and found themself entering pit lane. I felt bad for him but I couldn't help be in hysterics. I was expecting him to leave the race although credit to him, he carried on. I just have to hope it doesn't happen to me. :scared:

He litteraly took the outer loop.

Me too. my eyes were wide open like, "oh". I couldn't hold it together for the remainder of the race. I kept thinking of the Han Solo and Lando, "It's not my fault.".

New GT Supra League looks interesting, I quite like that car.

I had a nice 3 star win on race A last night! Quali down to a 12.081 (my goal is getting into the 11's but only have tonight to do it as am on holiday for a week, my optimum 11.6 would put me top 500 EMEA but I have a major psychological block when I nail S1 I screw up somewhere!)

New seat is due to arrive the day I go away 🤬

@Sven Jurgens So the guy in the Orange Lexus decided to park his car on the braking point, that’s what happened there, at least it wasn’t my fault  . I thought I might have cut him off but he brakes hard for some reason and lets me by, making a mess for you two behind him in the process.

I just shared that photo as well, tagged it Suzuka, SvennoJ and Pigems. Hopefully that makes it easy to find. :)
