No worries about sliding into me in lap 1, happens. This other dude though. I come alongside after spoon and he starts repeatedly ramming until I go off into a short cut at the fast right and I get a 2 sec penalty, wtf. So I timed the effect of a 2 sec penalty, i went from 1.9 sec gap to 5.7 sec gap before braking for the chicane. So 2 sec penalty turns into 3.8 sec lost...

The backfeld was a mess, hard to get through. I was stuck behind this driver so figured to pit early only to get stuck behind an even worse driver and got right back behind the first driver in lap 6 And this other dude got in the way and started ramming, one of those races lol.

@Pigems Nice pace on hards no stop. My 6th lap on mediums sucked, not doing that again.

Got an impressive time this morning but won’t spoil it cause I changed my name.
Won two races fairly easily, but got rammed a bit in one of them thus causing my dr to drop lower then what it was before.
I wish pd were more competent with this online racing really.

Finished 2nd in that one!! Highest finish yet, I even had the lead for about a half a lap after the leader went off the road in T1 on lap 8, by spoon I had to let him and another guy go by though as they were on mediums to my 8 lap old hards. One of them spun out in spoon on lap 10 though so I ended up getting one of the spots back at in the end. Gotta go pick up my son from school now, be back in about an hour @Sven Jurgens if you’re still gonna be around. Great racing so far man, sorry again about knocking you off earlier.

As you saw I got taken out in lap 1 already lol. Car reset, the inattentive rammer didn't even get a penalty. Then forced off by another laggy car later. Then I figured try a pit stop on lap 6 to complete the options, thus went wide at spoon on lap 6 tires lol. On fresh tires I was quickly catching up in the last 4 laps, yet then a car messed up at the chicane, did a terrible track re-entry and unghosted right in front of me. At least no penalty there, just more time lost.

I'm going to see how race B is doing, Then I can get some more stuff done in between as well.

Thanks, they seemed to stick well that race, I still didn’t have to lift for that fast left at the end even on the last lap. At least I managed to let you by that time without punting you afterwards.

Yep, or try to follow you with a no stop later. Probably won't work, but might be better with the Motul. In au tom's it was a mess

Give the no stop a try, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting. I’m debating on sticking with it.

I'm starting to like this Tokyo/Gr. 4 combo now... Normally i would avoid this track because it can get a bit, well, rowdy... But I managed to put in a good qualy time and starting up front definitely helps, so I went for a few rounds.
The midpack tends to get tangled up at some point along the way but its been mostly clean up front. The variety of cars on the grid has been pretty good too.
I finished off the night with a pretty epic duel against Lester that finished side-by-side across the line The differences between the TT and the 4C made for some close, fun racing. lost it by .023 but it was still the most satisfying race that i've had in a while lol



P.S. This was also my first time using ShareFactory to splice together a few different replay angles and I got to say that it served it's purpose well. It lacks some fine tuning features but for basic streaming and editing it's more than capable enough (and free!)

That was an awesome battle! 👍 My nerves would be wrecked with that dude on my tail. I don't know if it was a conscious decision, or just opportunism, but given the tendency of the TT to under-steer, it was advantageous of him to be on your outside for the last turn, knowing you wouldn't be able to use as much throttle as you wanted to. One of the nuances of Gr-class racing is knowing the characteristics of your opponents car.

Tokyo is nice and clean atm, almost got into the 1:19's, 1:20.2, getting faster. No red ratings, only 2 neutral and only half red dots. Let's see if it can stay that way.

Think I'll just run an odd race a day from the back, just for the daily mileage, it's too hard with all the dirty or very defensive drivers.

I did have one good race from the front though first, may have been two but my TV lost the single in the first race and that obviously caused me to crash.

One stop on the mediums is the way to go, pit lap 5 or 6 only if absolutely necessary, don't go to 7 the tyres are crap, even in the Nissan.

Which brake balance are you driving in the 4C in Tokyo?

5 rear for me. No heavy braking in race B. Actually not much brake needed at all.

Got my qualy down to 1:17.561 while optimum was .195 so room for improvement still.
Too tired to get better time,keep making stupid mistakes, but tomorrow...

Ah you're back. I can't race for now, some legal documents arrived I have to study. Perhaps tonight. I did get one race in at Tokyo which was surprisingly clean. The kids will be home soon as well. I'll be back in the evening.

Have you looked into this?


After I set my ps4 pro to use HDCP 1.4 instead of HDCP 2.2 (settings in safe mode) all my problems with occasional black screens or sound cutting out went away. The only disadvantage is that you can't watch 4K video with DRM on it, for example Netflix 4K (which I can't stream anyway)

God I feel so stupid and angry.
A guy punted me in the turn before the "long" straight of Tsukuba and I got 5s penalty. I wanted a revenge and I punted the wrong guy. I had to serve 10s penalty and then I drove like a douchebag for the rest of the race. DR and SR falling down like a birdcrap.

Ok I lost it. Started 3rd got punted thee times in the first lap by a Brit a Russian and a Turkish, I had 8s penalty so I quit my first ever sport race. I can't take it anymore. No more gt sport for me.

We ended up side-to-side in that arrangement because I tapped the inside wall coming out of the second to last tunnel, which pushed me a bit wide and scrubbed some speed. He then got a run and I made room where I could lol
The rest was as you said. We held those positions 'til the final turn, and he got the better run up to the line. I could have been a bit a more brave on the throttle at the end too but i didn't want to put him in the wall and ruin a great race.

I'm getting occasional sound and a rare picture loss now that you mention it. I only use my ps4 for gaming and only in 1080p with HDR since it's not a pro, so I should be good no?

Oh yeah, it’s definitely possible man, no worries there. My son’s 17 now so I’m at the “more free time” end of the having kids scale at this point. But I can remember one time when he was younger(8/9 maybe?), I had just gotten my DFGT and GT5 I think it was. He wanted to race too so I got him to help me drive in an endurance race, I’d get 15/20 laps ahead of the AI and then let him drive until they caught back up, then repeat, it worked perfectly and he had a blast!


Edit: I’m signed up for the next Race C @Sven Jurgens if you’re around, or anyone else for that matter. I’m racing with a Q time now though. Going for a no stop on Hards again, see how it works with a mid pack start, I don’t think it will go as well.

Countersteer Assist needs to be nerfed or banned from sport mode. The intent of it isn't for the fast guys to be faster, which is what is happening in the Race A leaderboards for the last several weeks.

Well the no stop from mid pack doesn’t work as well, started 8th and ended up finishing 4th and still couldn’t keep up with the leaders in the last few laps. I don’t like having to drive defensively in those last few laps, I want to be able to be more aggressive in holding my place at least. I’m gonna go back to the mediums with a one stop, maybe on lap 6 again depending on how the race is playing out.

So this guy says “WTH?” to me after the race? I’m not really sure what I did wrong here besides not letting him freely pass or punt me. Sure I kinda turned into him in the first video but what was I supposed to do there? I tried my best to avoid him, but he just couldn’t wait to pass. 2 wide just doesn’t work there. He ended up with a 3 second penalty from that which leads me to the second video.



He went off the road in T1 L10 and ended up right behind me again on the final lap, knowing he had already stuck his nose in and bumped me off once, and that he had a penalty to burn in the next corner I hit the brakes hard going into spoon forcing him to go around me inside so he couldn’t punt me again, knowing I was about to pass him when he had to slow for his penalty.


But I don’t get why he was upset? Shouldn’t it have been me that was upset afterwards?

Countersteer Assist needs to be nerfed or banned from sport mode. The intent of it isn't for the fast guys to be faster, which is what is happening in the Race A leaderboards for the last several weeks.

It should be banned from Sport mode, same with ASM, just as it is in the FIA events.

@Sven Jurgens My PS4 is the original and my TV can't even do 1080p never mind anything greater. For me it's not a PlayStation issue, just something that happens very rarely due to it being a digital signal, it loses it for a split second (lots of fuzzy colour dots) but then the TV takes seconds to recognize it again and by then I've crashed. Cleaning the cable can stop it from happening for a while, maybe a better cable and newer TV wouldn't hurt too but for now it's not a major problem, think I've had two or maybe three races ruined by it, that's all.

I shift in 6th gear, maybe I can win some time this way

This was my dilemma after qualifying in the 4c yesterday. Whether I should ever shift to 6th. I found staying in 5th gear was slightly faster for me (less than a hundredth of a second) after comparing both. I'd suggest to try both and see if there's a preference or difference for you. It's negligible at best.

I didn't see any alien replays to see if they're shifting. I may check a few of them out eventually.
