The new livery helped. Got a 12th and I think 8th in race C. Went and bought the 4C for race B to see what the leaderboards are all about and took 1.4s off my time in 2 laps. Not feeling racing anymore tonight though. Time for netflix.

Holy 🤬. Good thing you weren't in the 10:30pm race. What a mess. I got bumped off 3 times or more, lost count. Very dirty race. That Carlos dude was ramming and punting people left and right after he got a penalty then cursing again after the race. Another driver who is normally clean rammed me off in the hairpin lap 10, guess he wasn't happy in 11th place. At least Carlos dropped to SR.A, won't be in the next race.

Ugh so frustrating getting bump passed from the grass and all these idiot track re-entries, one more attempt and that's it.

That was a really fun first race, lots of respectful drivers all around me in that one, if someone made a big mistake they’d let the guy behind around and visa versa, everyone respecting everyone else space not holding anyone up or sticking there nose in on tiny mistakes, that was awesome. Great way to start the day. :)

It looks like you did well in that one @Sven Jurgens , how was your race?

Man, that was a fast room. I tried to keep up but I just end up pushing too much and mess up. Fun race though.

Glad I missed it by the sounds of it.

Great race that time Sven! Well done man. Another fun race, had a few good battles along the way. I’ve got one more in me if you’re up for it!

It was eh, there was a few of those yesterday and today, it’s been great. It was an absolute pleasure racing with you man, I hope to see you out there again soon.

Ok doing race a, finally figured it out and had a great race with crt roney

I had a couple good ones with him on a Monday and Tuesday, he’s a fast dude. :)

Oh boy what a mess that one was @Sven Jurgens Such a nice fella you are for waiting for me when I got that penalty at the end, you’re a stand up guy.

Sorry about hitting you in the last turn though, not a clue what happened there, the car just didn’t stop.

@Pigems Fun messing around at the back, that race was a dud. It was great up to this moment, then it all went to 🤬

Where did he think he was going

Sorry I 'punted' him into you. My jump out of the way button malfunctioned. That 3 sec penalty put me into more trouble, and then another blocker before the chicane just as I was getting up to speed again. By the time we collided I wasn't into it anymore  Even my attempt to finish driving backwards failed

Anyway, it's too messy for a Friday night. Perhaps it's too late already and there's been many of these around :cheers::cheers:.
Try again tomorrow.

@Pigems I got hit by the grip bug as well this evening. In the lap I should have most grip of all (lap 7) and usually set my fastest lap, the car suddenly wouldn't go left at the end of the esses, into the gravel. It just refused to turn.

And nice demonstration of the penalty system again, I got SR Down for that final chicane bump

Did a few races throughout the day. Mostly good. Finished last a few times.

Popped in for a quick Race A to get my SR back up and ended up with my 2nd 3 star win. Poles and wins are very rare for me. 2 nights in a row. Matchmaking has been kind. :D

An additional thought. I won on grids that were 3-4 DRB on top then DRD, no DRC. The last time I won was Christmas which is also the last time I can remember getting matched up like that. Mostly I'm matched with DRB and higher with an occasional DRC. Must have something to do with holiday traffic I think.

No worries man it’s all good, I got you back at the end anyways. ;) We made the best off a mucky race.

Congrats on the Dub man, well done!

Next week's races are up

A: N100 (Provided) - Tokyo Expressway East Inner Loop - 2 laps - Strong Slipstream
B: Gr.3 - Red Bull Ring - 5 laps - Racing Medium
C: Brands Hatch GP - Gr.X One Make - 15 laps - Racing Medium/Hard - x3 fuel, x13 tyre wear (I'd say based on those settings it's probably the Super Formula cars)
First time I see racing medium tyres in race B.

Wh-ha-whaaaat? Whole week without Suzuka or Fuji? How are we supposed to cope with that? This is madness, madness I tell ye!

Good spot, I can't recall a Race B before with Ms or at least in recent memory. It's always been Hs. I guess that makes B a little more appetising for me.

Don't worry, they'll be back the week after. 👍

My Drive Hub arrived today, so I was able to try out my wheel after spending my first week with GT Sport using a controller.

Wow, what a difference. I had found the Alfa 4C totally undriveable with the controller, pretty much any other car was faster for me.

My previous best was 1:19.1 with the Megane Trophy. Within 30 mins of getting used to the wheel I'd done 1:18.4 with the Alfa, and even my bad laps were 1:19.x. Now I understand how so many people were able to rocket past me on the right hander before the penalty zone!

Yet from Hawthorn bend to Stirling's, slow moving traffic is going to be very dangerous. Pilgrim's drop is my guess for the penalty zone. Perhaps Clearways, yet that's not very long either.

When I looked at the map of Brands you posted, I misread Pilgrim's as @Pigems .

Looks like maybe next week I might actually race again :dopey:. Maybe race C will be the Chaparral ;).

Race B.

Got my qually down to 1:17.5 in the Alfa.

Tried a couple of races. My time good for third on grid in both. I’m a B/S driver, but I don’t race often.

Results: 14th and a 3rd. First race I was tapped into a wall for a penalty and a SR hit on lap one. After at that, over driving and many errors on my part. Second race, much more consistent. Only one penalty, went as low as 6th but up to 3rd again as others served their penalties.

I’m thinking Alfa might not be the best race car here unless you’re out front and are very consistent near your qually lap.

Seen a few people in the the Audi - get that, fast and stable. However, I wouldn’t like the understeer on this track.

Also saw a few in the Toyota 86. I’ve never used it before. Gave it a go - 1:18.1 qually time. Not bad, and maybe a better car for the race.

Is anyone else doing qually in the Alfa and driving something else is in the race?

(I think daily races might be more interesting if you had to race in the car you set your qually time with, but that a different conversation.)

I bought the Toms Rc-f last night and i seem to be alot more consistent with it albeit a little slower per lap. I wish there was a reason to use the 08 cars but im sure i would be far too slow. So far there has been no reason for me to acquire an 08 gr.2 even though they look fun.

There are 15 N100 cars. One that we haven't raced yet is the 1956 Porsche Speedster. I wouldn't mind that one. 👍

Could be a possibility I guess given it's Tokyo Expressway, we shall see on Monday I guess.

Early start today (no sleeping in with kids). First race was clean (apart from the 3 fighting in front of me that took each other out) and I got up to 7th. Second race I got rammed off / out of the way 3 times by 2 dirty drivers. If they're there I'll meet them lol.

The penalty system remains useless, perhaps I should drive off the road when I get hit instead of trying to hang on. It's still cold and raining so hopefully racing standards will go up a bit or Elite dangerous might be getting some attention today. Suzuka is too lenient with SR, bump passing seems the norm. Contact free passes are in the minority, banging through in the corner is becoming the norm.

Next one up,. starting 18th.

Finished 8th, 3 dirty drivers apparently. Two I saw, one called out. One of them kept blocking until he ran the car in front of him off taking himself with it. Pit manoevering doesn't work if you rotate the car ahead on your bumper

So I bought the 08 gtr anyways and after 3 laps im only 1 second off my qualy time with the new gtr. Either the 08s arent as slow as people say or my qualy time was terrible lmao. 1:51.393 in the new and 1:52.377 in the old. If i didnt put it in the cabbage at the chicane with the 08 it would have been .600 less than that.

I can't say for the others but I find the '08 Xanavi better at braking and cornering than the Autech. My QT was half a second off my Autech time.

You also have the added satisfaction of beating the faster Gr.2s with it. It was the only Gr.2 car I used at Autopolis and I managed a few top 6 finishes with it. It's definitely no slouch.

I did some investigating. Porsche speedster at Tokyo East Inner Loop: 2:49. Too fast. The race would only be 6 minutes long.
Beetle: 3:53. Maybe a tad too slow. There's no bop, so the car will have it's actual horsepower rating.

It's gonna be one of these cars: 1952 Abarth 1500, 2002 Daihatsu Copen, 1991 Honda Beat, or 1965 Mini Cooper (I'm betting on the Daihatsu).

*This is assuming they created a race that takes more than 6 minutes.

Improve my time again. Now it is the optimum. I was 0.3 seconds slower before. Think that this is my optimum!

Is it ONE-MAKE? Maybe we can choose a car.
I think it'll be the Mini Cooper. It was on the short Suzuka months ago, so this will be possible. I think I am going to drive Red Bull Ring!!!

You can probably count the Beat out since we had a Honda this week.

One more attempt. Last race was not a bad finish (8th), still got punted off once and had that grip loss thing again. One race without bugs or getting punted / bumped off must be possible!

Meanwhile it's only getting darker outside

Think I might dip back in next week. I do like RBR but I bet it will be a cluster-🤬 at the first corner! Maybe best to not qualify and start at the back (no chance of starting pole for me). Think they're the best places to start on that one!
