You can change the area your looking at when applying a decal if that’s what you mean.

Also, @Sven Jurgens , I’ve put decals on the back/bottom of rear spoilers before. I just swig the camera around so I can see it and apply it as usual. :)
Those Japanese guys have figured out how to put decals on the windows. I've seen a lot of examples. Here's one:

Oh, and here's the custom one I made a couple weeks ago, to match yours, @Pigems.

*Never mind the finishing position. I was just cruising around at the back to gain SR. :O

Tried that, didn't work with this spoiler. Sometimes you have to go into other -> rear to apply stuff to certain areas. It's pretty annoying, especially when you're trying to get a decal over one of those weird borders between body and other sections since it projects slightly differently. Perhaps it was that one as I remember for one race car to put decals on the side of those big spoilers I had to use other instead of spoiler left/right.

Perhaps I need to mess with the projection settings. You know in VR you could just point to where you want it while walking around the car, hint hint pd ;) Ah check, he selected align with camera, that's the trick!

One thing I have not figured out how is how do you get decals on the back of the spoiler in race cars. Does the depth limit work for that?
I'm not expert in the subject but what I've found so far is that some cars won't accept decals on the back of the spoiler. The two methods I know to achieve that are ...decal on top, set angle limit to max so it shows on the other side, inverse (or flip) , and put decal on top with angle limit low....or... Decal on top and move until it's under (some cars don't accept that).
As for the wing, if angle limit is too high decal will just "bleed" on the spoiler.

Maybe you already knew all this ..... .maybe not !

First race of the day, and we're back to B/S. Lovely. Starting towards the sharp of a race makes for a far less stressful 13 laps.

Speaking of sharp ends. My 31.238 puts me 1332nd in EMEA. For now, at least. Pretty sure I can drop that into the high 30's tomorrow evening.
See you on the track... I'm at B/A, after 5-6 last places in really destroyed races...
Need nerves of steel for this track, that's for sure!

On reading your post, I managed to get down from constant 1:31.Xs to 1:30.850 by focusing on the throttle during all those 2nd gear corners.
Always seem to need about half throttle - don't drop speed, but don't push too hard, either.
Late braking into Turn 1 also helps a lot.
Sticking to the inside in the long right seems to be best.
Top 1000 and "still I rise" :)
I have not watched any top 10 times this time, because they tend to frustrate me....

I'm in the Nissan, just like it better, but now the Top 10s have shifted towards the Honda...

Well, those actually aren't windows, they're panels where the window would have been on the production car. The Atenza has the largest "window" you can put decals on, but it's definitely not the only one. The section of the body is "other"

Fuji is one of my favourite tracks to drive. Provided we're using the tight chicane. No chicane Fuji annoys me.

I also need to work on throttle through the final 3 corners. Not as much as I need to finally figure out which line I'll take through them, though.

I'll try the Honda and Nissan after work tomorrow. Can't do anymore tonight, I'm getting old, tired, and cranky.

What about the rear window? How the hell do you do that?

The "Window" panels (i.e. the rear side window and the rear window) of the Atenza can have decals on it. Just go to the Other section in the LE and hit R3 to see turquoise parts, which are the parts that can have decals for that section.

Also, the projection shouldn't be that much different if you use Align With Surface to do that.

Only on some cars, not all?

Basically anything with a panel that covers the rear windows, such as the Atenza race cars, the Evo Gr.3, etc.

Some MR cars have engine covers that can have decals on it, such as the RSR, the 4Cs, the NSX Gr.3 and both GT500s, and such.

Yup, the livery editor is now more addicting than ever! :D

Edit: This is the shortened version of my race with @TTM and @MattJones_e36 earlier tonight. Again, Great race fellas, always a pleasure.

Man i really botched the launch in that race, had 3rd gear engaged and didn't even noticed lol. Had some really fun races today, but in the end it makes me wish it was the full course instead of the short one. With the slipstream set on strong, if you're not ~0.5s ahead of P2 in the last turn, you'll get challenged, and T1 is the only place available for overtaking really (saving a screw up of course) and that turn isn't really the kind of turn for that, if you run wide you risk being shoved off, if you hug the inside to protect you become the potential culprit, anyway at some point in the middle both cars will occupy the same space if someone doesn't back out, it's a game of chicken really, had some nasty accidents there unfortunately.

I did a race with you, earlier. You started 1st and I started 12th, with my 12+ minute Q time. You just ran off like a scared rabbit and won the race, without slowing down to race me.

To get the decals on the back of the wing you need to select the wing section from the left, then select "Align with Camera".

Then move the view around so the cross in the centre of the view is facing the rearside of the wing. Then select your logo and apply. Before you close things out though, be sure to inspect the upper side of the wing and ensure you've not got bleed through onto the top surface. If you do fiddle with the depth settings to fix.

Also you should use the "Align with Camera" setting to put the cross on any surface you want to put the decal on. Especially handy when the panels cross over and you dont want the logo to go through to the other side.

I typically get only 1 night per week where I can play, so I have to make the best out of it. I got this tonight:

I've gotten a couple of 2nd place finishes in the last month. But after the 3rd, I decided on a livery change.

Got my 150th win few days back

I've got a long way to go:

The video shows the spectator view first with the chase cam view at the 8:18 mark. The chase cam only has the first & last lap, because that's where the excitement is. Spectator view has all 4 laps, because the replays just look so good.

If you haven't already tried it, the 4C seemed to click for me. Like you, I couldn't get under .54 in the 4 - 5 other cars I tried. I somehow hit 1:53.1 after a few laps. Being able to push the last few sectors at a greater speed likely helped.

Hi there, thanx for your sug. but the Alfa is a real handfull in my hands. I can't get the best out of it. I'm quicker with the 'Batmobil' and the Cayman than with that nervous, little Italian fury. Grtz

Race ‘c’ for me this week.

I don’t have a good qualifying pace at 1:32.6 so starting near the back each time in BS

I have been doing a no stop on hard tyres, Each race I am between 6-8 places up at the finish.

Made a concentration mistake on my last race last lap so lost 6th which I had a 4 second lead on. Forget his name but he passed me very well and clean despite me sliding around

Edit: fastest race lap = 1:34

So I used to hate Autopolis, but on the Gr4 cars I find it actually pretty fun. The problem is that this race is a SR killer.
With the new SR system that benefits to anyone bumping you from behind as long he has slower Dr or Sr, you can be sure that by the end of lap1 you know you will have a negative Sr.

Now I finally had a good race, without any contact from behind in lap 1 and I managed to pass an Italian guy that was driving clean, gaining the 3rd position. I exited slow the last turn of lap 1 so he managed to catch up in the straight and went on the inside. I thought ok I let him pass him, gj to him. But since the radar was showing him close, I went more left, and at the braking my car moved a little bit on the grass.
I lost control, hit him and he hit me, I went into the sand and he got some big penalties I guess.
I ended up 7th and him 5th.

At the end of the race I was a bit annoyed that he squeezed me in the grass and he was mad I hit him. We said each other to watch the video and it was useful because I then saw he was close but not squeezing me, and he saw that I braked in the grass and therefore didn't hit him on purpose.

We apologized so it's all good.
My point is, the replay should be available directly at the end of the race, it would really help save some discussion time.
The other point being the Sr system is complete crap.

Am I the only one that can't run their Q time in race C? I'm starting 10th or worse usually but seems like people that qualify 3 5 7 seconds slower are way faster than me in the race. They had Q times, fastest race laps 2 or more seconds better. Unless the 2nd tier SR S really is full of sandbaggers, which I don't doubt. If anything this game has taught me ego outweighs any kind of morals. Me first society. Unless they really change stuff overnight, 2 days ago I was at least competitive, now I park in the pits because I'm getting lapped.

On some routes I purposely start at the very back to avoid the chaos in turn 1. In Fuji it is e.g. no problem to improve from P20 to P10 or P6 because half the field falls victim to the chaos in T1. Of course, then I am faster than some drivers in front of me. Yes, it is a form of sandbagging. But I do not do that because I want an unfair advantage but because I just want to handle the weaknesses in the game. If the developers finally punish properly and punish those who cause the chaos every time in T1 then I will qualify correctly on this stretch again.

After being punted in turn 1 i attempt a recovery and get a good look at whats it like to be at the pack of the pack at Autopolis.

I noticed that the driver who rammed you in T1 from the track got no penalty. This is another typical failure of the penalty system. He destroyed your race and caused chaos in the field. At least one driver got a 5 second penalty in this chaos. Later the same driver divebombed you and there is no penalty again. In both cases it is quite clear who the cause is but the system does nothing. I'm sorry, I'm straightening up because it happens to me often. GT Sport could be so good but the whole trouble with unfair or over motivated drivers spoiled my fun and made me bitter. Much of this could be avoided if the rules were finally enforced and penalties punished properly. But somehow the developers do not seem to care about that.

OK I've tried to race again, but now, my SR is 35. So I am about to be re-set I guess. The problem is that I cannot get off the line ... I've three races now, at the Suzuka track driving in slow motion. Two out of three times, I've been on the pole, but by the first corner, I am 5th. And then I get hit from the side, and typically get a penalty.

The third race, the same ... fortunately a gap behind me developed, so I drove up to the third car, and with a gap, I waited. Sure enough, soon I was in second. So I passed for first on the straight ... kept to the right at the first braking point, and then the guy behind me just shoved me over to the left ... so I drove up to him again, passed him on the main straight again ... now on the last lap ... and sure enough, he belts me off again during the first corners after the straight, but cutting right over to the right and aiming for me ... and with my penalty status, I then had to sit behind him and get second. If I'd touched him, IU'd have been re-set I reckon. No red dot the time, but I got some penalties for him hitting me ... really, its useless. zmy only chancer not to be re-set is to avoid all cars at all cost, and maybe come 5th or sixth. Of course, i'll loose the A rating by doing that. Well - I guess that is really what the game is about.

I need to get a clean start but even with ABS on, I can't get away effectively. I am in the AWD Nissan , I did a few more qualifying laps and now am on 58.252 I think. Its useless though because I am not getting off the line ... any help would be appreciated.

This is like a win. Got punted off twice. I mean really smashed off the track after the 130R. Ran long and almost grabbed the Leader into T1. Pitted Lap 8 and ran fastest laps. Grabbed 3rd and 2nd places with my fresher tyres. Redemption

Unjust 4 second penalty in the RC F, saw me lose out from a potential win. Jumped in the M4 and got a Pole to flag victory.

There's no false start penalty, so when the 3 second countdown starts, just floor it. 👍

I actually raced a race C on my main account.:eek::odd:

Started on pole and it was pretty uneventful for me, had to pass a late stopper after I pitted and then a TRZ driver who no stopped but they didn't cause any issues. The TRZ driver came 2nd by not quite 7 seconds so they did an excellent job, probably better than me in truth. Finished in 20'20 so pretty decent and also got the fast lap, only just a 1'30 lap but I spoiled my clean race by bumping the pit wall on the way in. :banghead::lol:
