Getting wound up now, apparently a clean defence of your position is to ram into my car giving me an SR down. This is even is SR:S, A was worse, so was B, C doesn’t bode well. There was a time that I would sit back to try and increase my SR one race at a time but I don’t have time to spend hours correcting my SR to get clean racing. It’s pointless anyway if S rank is dirty too.

Time to stop worrying about it and just race my race.

This is the first time I entered a Sport race with tire option(kind'a fell away from online play). Is it just me or is hard compound absolutely pointless? I had no more degradation with medium and all the added grip. Couldn't get past lap 4 on hards without sliding at every corner.

Is it generally accepted that GT Sport unrealistically generates energy from nothing when a collision takes place? When you see it from the point of view of the car that came from behind, it doesn't look like that crazy an impact at all, it looks like he'd comfortably have made the corner if you hadn't been there. But it's like a bomb went off at the point of contact, creating a much more violent impact than you'd expect, and I've seen that in several other collisions.

It's the downside of asynchronous clients with a little lag interfering. You're only seeing it from one point of view. The replay only shows the other cars as interpreted by the client that received the data with possibly some clean up done. For example when you watch the car in the replay, it's already slowing down before the brake lights come on, and the brake indicator doesn't show until the car has already lost 40kph. It's not reliable,

In real time his car, as interpreted by the victim's client, carried more speed at the time of impact, hence the exaggerated collision. The problem is, that at 240kph you travel 1 meter per 15ms. Any little bit of lag, say 60ms from client to server to client, and the car, as interpreted on your client, will start braking 4 meters later than the actual car. That doesn't sound like much but it's plenty to carry a lot more speed while colliding.

The problem with that is that you'll end up in SR.B and then suddenly SR.S does look cleaner.

I know, its not always as cut and dry as the car behind should get the SR down, but, when contact is unavoidable because other cars use you as a brake, it should be obvious to the penalty algorithm. I mean it knows where a car should be applying the brakes... but that's a conversation for another time.

I'm back in SR:B for now, will go again tomorrow.

I’m soooo friggen close to nailing it. :)

Not even gonna bother improving the time for the A race. I see that @Pigems is crushin' it on that race, well done!

I still find the whole "reverse to sector 3" trick to be beyond stupid and don't want to improve my time because of that lol.

Thanks man, I just want to get it to 42 now so I can forget about this car for the rest of the week lol. I haven’t done the reverse thing, what is it exactly that they are doing?

If you do lap 1 as usual, you'll fly past it at the start of lap 2.

However, if you reverse to where sector 3 starts, and start from there, you'll start your lap as fast as you are going when you start lap 2, saving you more more time. You'll still have enough battery to complete lap 1 with it.

Ok cool, that’s what I thought, thanks for the info. I tried it a couple times and saw no advantage in doing so other than skipping the first slow lap, the battery itself doesn’t actually seem to do anything. So don’t give up man, you’ve definitely got a Sub 43 in ya!!

I present to you my good Sir, 43.0, on lap 5, with no battery. :D

Optimal is 42.5 still, batteries not included. :)

Grrr I guess I'll try it out lol

Entered up at Interlagos against my better judgement...
So turn 1 turn 2, 3,4, they all just came and went without incident. Started seventh, finished seventh,
No one made a mistake among us...Pretty cool.
Track is fantastic. I hated it so much when I got the game, but now I just enjoy its flow, it’s challenging and there’s so much time there to grab, and my q time at 39.4 is not enough, but I’m not going worry bout it.
Good nuff.
Some people might find a clean spaced out car train boring, but I really like it. Suspense!

Doesn't sound right. Even in GT league, the AI cars hit you. :boggled:

Ok so the Porsche seems to be the car for Kyoto, I’m gonna try the NSX next though because it is my Manu car, so I feel kinda obligated to at least try it.

Down to a 2:17.5 now with TCS on 2 and BB at +3 in the 911 I had to turn TCS on 2 because I kept spinning out while trying to find the lines/speeds, once I get more comfortable here I’ll turn it off for Hot Laps. It will stay on 2 for racing though. This could be a fun week. :)

I feel like giving that track a go because I like to drive the Porsche. It feels to me like its got a very low centre of gravity. Which of course in real life it should have. But it really feels like the mass is low down when I drive Porsche (911 looking) car. First class PD for the feel of CoG.

Had a stream tonight decided I wanted to get into DR A+

Practice laps for about an hour and I had a 2:16.1. I was on for a 16.0 or maybe a 15.9 but made some mistakes before i realized i was on a good lap. Started on pole all night and mostly had race wins. Picked up almost 7k DR and now have my A+ rating :) It seems most were choosing the 911 but I think over a race distance the FT-1 was better.

Had one really close race that I lost to TTG_Deano

Booooo. Moved up to 5th and got 3 seconds for the out of shape Huracan behind me and an Evo that both went wide at T4.

Edit: MOved up 7 positions. How I got a superbly cleaner( The Huracan in front, brakes way early during the infield section, slight bump, orange arrow) race, with half D/S grid? Good job by all the players.

Anybody managed to do a no-stopper on race C (with some good results ofcourse)? Atm my best results where with med. tyres and pit on lap 5. I tried hards 1 race at the first 5 laps but you lose to mutch time against the guys who go with med/med.

Why not to try a combination of medium and hart tyres in Race C?
Last week in Race C on Fuji I had Hart wheels in the front and on the back medium. I have been faster than with just medium. The first laps are also fast like just medium, but in lap 3 to 5 before the stop i was faster

@TheNorfolkDad Perfect example of where the penalty system totally fails, they hit you but go off so the game blames you for it and slaps you with the penalty. You have to try to laugh otherwise you'd get really annoyed. When this happens in the FIA events it'll cost people a whole lot more. :(

Race C is a great combination this week.

Track is great fun, very technical and has a bit of everything. Also fairly easy to overtake on.

Tyre wear and fuel comp seem just right to encourage and reward efficiency in these areas.

Multiple competitive cars.

Well, there are two ways about out. Raise my rating or drop it. I will be gunning for a particular player every race. I told them so. They didn't like me overtaking them. So, I get a hip-and-shoulder/leaned on by said player, in the corners. I catch and reciprocate. It doesn't end there.
I'm patient behind an M4 and some mayhem happens ahead, said player comes back and bumps me out the way up the inside. Gets 2 seconds. Last lap, players wants vengeance. Slows and waits for me to catch up so it tries to escort me off the track, by banging into me. I brake and it goes off into a wall. HAHA! I get 5 seconds though. I was at A/S then, A/A. Now, A/B.

Said player is not in my next race, Unless they are using another account.

Edit: Okay, just had a clean race(with a couple close calls from early brakers) and back up to A/A. Let's see what happens...

I thought I was the only one Playing that game last week, it was a really good strategy because you got the tyre wear of hards but a really decent and consistent pace. It made the car a lot friendlier to drive too, a touch of understeer but you could push to the limit without any of the twitchiness which came with mediums.
