Are you managing to draft them on the straights? I might try a few laps in the Merc
Drafting all the way, even with good exit is hard.

Tried Race C and wow i think i'm gonna be done for the day...
Started 6th with Mediums, a 3 way on hairpin and a Supra just murdered my rear and went to 13th place.
Crawled back to 7th and my god these were the most stressing laps i had. Had a 911 on front defending, fair enough but everytime i managed to squeeze in? Casually trying to close me off by throwing me into the off track. Every.Single.Time.

Sure, some movements were ok and nice but he couldn't understand the concept of space.
Defended so much that i got 2 divebombers Supras which both didn't have problems throwing me around.
Every lap always on the verge of being thrown off is exhausting.

Race C Yamakiwakyotoko II (what a name monster)
Really hard to find the apex, flow is just wrong when going the wrong way. Almost all corners tightens to the end, and apex is very late.
Had about 20 laps and best time was 2:18.410. Optimum is 2:17.9xx. I think that 2:17.5 would be possible.

Tyre wear seems to be problematic in Race C. I did a one stop with the Supra in Mediums and my front-left tyre was shot by the end. All those twists and turns are a liability for them, I guess. This was after failing royally in the race before by pitting on the wrong lap and running out of fuel with half a lap to go. :O Short-shifting and FM6 didn't save me before I realised.

It would be ideal if you could use Hards and Mediums at the pit stop instead of one or the other. I'd have went with Hards at front with Mediums at back given the option.

@Tea_Leaves You actually can have a hard front medium rear combo if you set it up that way in settings before the race starts, but then you have to pick one or the other when you pit for the rest of the race.
Maybe a 5 lap stint with that setup and mediums for the last 3 laps could prove to be a viable option.
Dunno if 5 laps is doable on 1 tank, havent tried the race yet.

I've been toying with the idea of doing the first 5 laps with Hard/front and Medium/rear, then all Mediums for the last 3. Don't know if it would work. Do you know any cars that can go 5 laps in fuel map 1?

@NosOsH We just posted almost the same exact thing.

It's in the Archive thread now, but it was only two months ago that I made this post.

It still is not open to interpretation. If you want to post about how people from any given country behave in a particular way, do it on Twitter, or Facebook, or Youtube, or Reddit, or anywhere that isn't GTPlanet.
Thank you. I see a lot of sneaky racism in this threat.

Yep, I know that's possible before the race starts but at the pit stop, you're not given this option which is sad. The pit stop just seems kind of basic in terms of options available to you.

I haven't tested any other cars but from memory, the 4C and RCZ are very fuel efficient when I used them at Nurb 24H. Might be possible with those two.

Sven, this should look familiar to you. It's lap 1 of the second race that I attempted from the back, this morning. It may not look like it, but I was really just trying to be non-aggressive, and avoid hitting anyone. I even drove off track on the sweeping right-hander to avoid the blue car that got loose at the bottom. There were a couple of minor contacts that were my fault, but the biggest problems happen when I'm following someone who does something unexpected.

*Side note: the guy in the yellow car was the only A+. He also did not qualify. I guess he showed his smarts by not challenging me for position, entering the downhill esses, which is where the worst crash happened. :banghead: He ended up better off for making that concession. 💡

*One other thing. The Corvette really chews up it's front tires.

Yep looks like my races this morning lol.

Let's see the first bottleneck at 0:50. 10th brakes too early, 11th runs into him, gets stalled some extra by lag, so you run into him and stall as well. Then 13th and 14th manage to hit you almost simultaneously from both sides. Original 11th gets 3 sec for punting the early braker that started the whole pile up. You get 3 sec for original 14th that clips you on the way into the right wall after losing control on the inside kerb.

1:35, you should have gotten SR Down for that, but likely the other got the blame, then he gets hit again lol.

Lastly the esses, he brakes where a slight lift is plenty for any correction. Good thing you expertly punt him in such a way he stays within track limits long enough while you go off and he gets the penalty

All caused by people not having a clue where to brake and where not to brake.

Unfortunately I have to mow the lawn, I'll be racing again later. One stop on mediums full out since bump to pass is now totally endorsed by the penalty system. Got to stay ahead not to get bumped from behind, while avoiding the early brakers. It's probably better to keep plenty distance in lap 1 and only pass wrecks before starting to race in lap 2.

Yeah, not qualifying is great if you want to train your overtakes, except when you don't know the track, and end up in the middle of other people not knowing the track.
I have to say this track in reverse looks disturbing. I don't think I'm gonna try it.

Can someone tell me how much SR is to be gained with a clean race B?

If my calculations are correct (0.4 SR per sector) it should be ((4*4)-1)*0.4 = max 6 SR for a clean race.
Race C should be ((7*8)-1)*0.4 = max 22 SR for a clean race.

So yep you can survive 7 SR Downs (-3 SR a piece) and still get blue or neutral if some happen in the same sector. (Or final sector of the race which never gives SR up anyway)

(Sorry for the double post, too late to merge now)

I got the Honda Fit down to a 1:43.5, man what a boring car to drive, absolutely zero fun to be had there lol.

What’s the scoop with the battery? I reset a few times after it drained but it doesn’t seem to be any faster with it charged though. Is it just for looks in this case?

Well then, no need to keep it clean. Drop the hammer and crack some heads.

Usually the dirty guys drop down the SR ladder, and you don't see them for a while. Maybe not in this week's C.

I don’t think the battery does anything other than drain! Good advert for hybrid! ;)

It might recharge under braking, but hardly any braking at this track.

Thanks for the vid. It confirms that I probably wanna skip A, this week.

Couple of wins. Switched up my car felt like the evo was so much better for finding the apex but had nothing even in the draft. Down to a 39.3 or 4 now. Tanked my rank in the first two races. Ce la vie ‍♂️

Decided to hop on the PS4 tonight, immediately regretted it

JK, this has been the only incident so far in three races.

Is it generally accepted that GT Sport unrealistically generates energy from nothing when a collision takes place? When you see it from the point of view of the car that came from behind, it doesn't look like that crazy an impact at all, it looks like he'd comfortably have made the corner if you hadn't been there. But it's like a bomb went off at the point of contact, creating a much more violent impact than you'd expect, and I've seen that in several other collisions.

The N300 race at Suzuka last week killed my Sr and Dr, one race on race C and back up to S.

Race is just penalty ridden. They seems really inconsistent too. Race B looks like it will be good for penalties too, probably skip that too. Pretty dissapionting again. I know I could create better combinations than PD. Like since Le man was added there has hardly been any races there. Hardly any gr b, karts, we need more open wheel but it's just gr 3 and 4 same tracks again... Predictable. The entire game is becoming very predictable

@sturk0167 Theres no getting through the “Death Zone” without lifting, even Lester lifts just before the first right. 👍

2:18.5 as of now but I keep messing up the transitions between the two tracks, Porsche is the car to beat so far. :)
Oh, no kidding? I didn't see any replays, but when I looked at the top 10 list about 6 hours ago, there were 8 different cars. The Porsche is just too loose for me. I've just tried 5 different cars, but only the Ford GT got me a lap in the 2:18's. If I put a ton of time and effort into it, maybe a 2:16.999 would be possible.

Ok so the Porsche seems to be the car for Kyoto, I’m gonna try the NSX next though because it is my Manu car, so I feel kinda obligated to at least try it.

Down to a 2:17.5 now with TCS on 2 and BB at +3 in the 911 I had to turn TCS on 2 because I kept spinning out while trying to find the lines/speeds, once I get more comfortable here I’ll turn it off for Hot Laps. It will stay on 2 for racing though. This could be a fun week. :)

I only watched Lesters, I knew I couldn’t replicate anything Fraga did on his lap so I didn’t bother watching it lol. Try the McLaren GTR, it’s actually quite stable here and it’s super fast on the straights. :)

Nice lap. On the Miyabi section of the track, where there is a quick left/right, you don't need brakes. Start your transition to the right sooner, lifting a bit if you need to. Aim for that cone on the right, putting your 2 right tires in the grass. 2 of the cars I tried can make it through there at full-throttle. 👍

This is the biggest fault of GT Sport. 1 week we might have an excess of riches in the daily races, then the next week, starvation. I think we need more than just 3 races because it's impossible to satisfy everyone, and even more impossible with only 3 choices.

They barely even bother to use the cars that they included in the game. It's always Gr 1/2/3/4, and super slow cars. There's so many cars in between that could and should be used but rarely ever are. Especially the open wheel cars, and classic race cars. We need way more of those.

The NSX would make a great drift car!! It drives the way the R8 used to, let off the throttle too much and you’re facing backwards lol.
