Good evening.
Earlier tonight I ran several b races and bled dr at a rate of roughly 3-500 per race. 39.2.
Looked at my friends list, and several others beat my dang time pretty good, using the yank tank, the same one I used!
It took me around 120 minutes but finally I scraped out a 38.84. Moved up a couple spots on the friends list...
Tbh it’s rare that I get triggered into an extended qual session. However this time I kept beating my time by the tiniest bits, and I could see I needed to learn more about the car, it’s capable of quite a bit more than I can achieve.
For me, breaking 39 was a satisfying accomplishment, and I kept racing earlier even though I was bleeding dr because it was fun, even starting like 14 the drivers were very clean had a clean race streak goin for a couple... very solid stuff tonight. I had a couple fun battles...
Seriously, personal best is personal best and fun is fun. EDIT:check it out, previous two laps identical, don’t know that I’ve ever done that...

Sometimes throwing away dr is worth it. :gtpflag::cheers:

Stay thirsty, my friends.

Going to miss race C after this week. It is almost impossible not to have SR99 racing this.
If race C did had less SR gaining it would be great indeed... also i like it allot but because of the amount of SR you gain instead of lose in this race people just do everything (punting, driving you wide, boost you into a corner and stuff) to pass you. So this messed up my experience and interest in race C unfortunately.

First couple of races with the new 7.1 (PlayStation Gold) headset, last night. I like it. The extra spacial awareness means I don't NEED the radar on. It still gets used for the first couple of laps, though. I need to increase the sound of other players, but other than that, it's great.

Best result at Kyoto, too. Not in track position (finished 8th, best is 6th) but in places gained. Started 16th. My qualifying pace may not be great. But, I can now hit fairly consistent high 2:19s/low 2:20s.

Last night's Race C - Grid P14 Race P4: The start was badly botched, suddenly the back half slowed to a crawl and I had to overtake a few of them into the start line. Off for a shaky start, getting hit from bumper cars in the back of the field on the first lap. After a few racers spinning and scratching the walls, I had to keep my cool in the middle of the field while maintaining my pace. Took me a while to figure out the optimum speed and pace to carry through the turns, while closing the gap as much as I can, including a huge moment braking down the hill curves that I almost lost it.
Pit strategy became a little panic moment for me as I was unsure of the plan in mind whether to hold out and save fuel or full blast rocket ahead. The tyre wear rate was ridiculously set high, but ultimately decided to take a gamble at lap 4 to equalize tyre wear without sacrificing lap times.

Second stint was all the way charging like a bull, three penalty servers in the next few laps and two ballerinas greeted me while on the last two laps as I take the 4th place en route to the chequered flag. Pretty crazy as I thought I'd be ending up on the back end again, really worth a good recovery drive considering all the car paint scratches and nicks I've had.

I wonder what's gonna be the car in Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.
Gr.3 at La Sarthe in only 2 laps is... gonna be rough for how messy the race will be (sprint + la Sarthe = crashes)
And again Autopolis lol

O5XR8 - I setup my Lancer with your -3 BB, and at first it felt a bit funny, but at corner 4 at Interlagos, its really neat, you can have the power and touch the brakes and the car keeps its angles and shape nicely. I've worked out too that if I back off at corner 6 and be easy with the throttle getting to corner 7 and not overdue the throttle through there its faster. Then corner 8 the same - back off the throttle and then ease through until easing into full throttle. Finally the entrance to the main straight - I have been going from easing onto the brakes and then powering through. But if I let the brakes go the tail hangs out nicely and there's some real time there.

I had 7 races this afternoon in Aussie land and my wife went shopping. I had maybe 11 laps practice, and worked out my faults in the Lancer. I'm down a bit in times @1:38.5 now but I may sit down before its over and get a better time. But I am faster in the races.

Sadly there were few A drivers for me to race, due to my B then A now S SR rating. I had 6 races in a row against the same driver, who was also an A. A Japanese guy. The first one we both collided and lost SR. I decided to apologise - why not. He came 5th and I came 6th. I was first and him second. But from then on we both behaved ourselves and I won 4 in a row. One by 0.3 seconds. His Hurican was faster on the straights when in my tow. I pulled over at the 4th race to let him win - but he had a 1 second penalty so that was my 4th win. The next race he dropped to 3rd but got through, and up the main straight, I pulled over and gave him the win. The next race he wasn't there ... i reckon after his win the game provided him with a different crowd.

Now I am SR S I hope there will be some more A drivers to race against. I probably need to be around 1:38.3 or .2 to really increase my DR - today with all the wins, I only got maybe 2,000 DR. Better than being re-set though.

Smoothness is the key at Interlagos. Good stuff.

No doubt. I think the Huracan gets the best tow for some reason.

Speaking of that, I really wanted to call out @Pigems for race a lol

I’ll be on most of today if you’re around. I saw that you beat my lap, well done man.

I got roped into movie night with the wife last night and didn’t get a chance to race. I did however watch Gone in 60 Seconds, one of my two favourite movies of all time!! :D

We had choices of 90s JDM cars at Fuji. Not many N100 choices for British rides at Brands?

Best bet for Race b will be to steer clear of track limit penalties.

It the Gordini British and N100?

Edit, Gordini is grade X. I’ll change my guess to the Trueno or the Alpine then. :)

Hope: Sambabus or Trueno

Despair: Fiat 500

It doesn't narrow down choices by many but I'm almost sure it's going to be an older car like the Porsche, Abarth 1500 or Mini Cooper. I believe Brands Hatch is renown for hosting vintage car events so something like the S660, S-FR or Roadster doesn't really fit.

Oh , Lord. Did this player ever have a cry just then. I won from pole, but 2nd place got a lil tap from 3rd place. After that, it just cried the whole race. bumping cars off and even bumped me off before it pit. After it pit, it drove the opposite way on the track and rage quit. Video in a few.

 Grass on the right !!... Same happen to me yesterday , same spot.

Yup! This combo is so frustrating
I’ve got the Optimal down to 16.4 now but I still can’t get it around the track, I think I’ll work on this most of today. I want into the 16’s. The two corners where the tracks transition between one another seem to be the toughest spots, you really gotta nail that second one heading up the hill or you lose a ton of time. :)

Try hitting the kerbs just a little and hard brake at the beginning and right after that trail brake until you get halfway the turn and then progressively on the throttle again. Helped me gain some time

Found some momentum for a quick one-lap wonder at Interlagos, managed to break the 1:40 barrier after 3 laps and finding the sweet spot while carrying the extra speed through.

Did another race with P2 on the grid, lost one place due to a little tussle with a HK player but it was a clean pass. Happy with P3 at the end, despite a persistent threat from the 4th place throughout the race. Quite a peaceful and quiet race, so there's no big issue with that. Red SR B yesterday and blue SR S today, huge leap for some faith in myself.

WooHoo!!! Finally got it. :)

There was still a ton of mistakes in that run too, I totally blew the Death Zone. I think Sub 16 is possible if I can manage to hit every sector at my best. :)

Oh right it’s Saturday, Race Night! Sweet, I hope to see many of you out on the track tonight. :)

2 observations about myself and others over the last couple of days.

1) ramming/divebombing can be extremely subjective. For instance, during the race I brake sooner than I normally would in a QTT. Especially in the first lap when I'm on consolidation mode and trying to get around without incident. A few in front do the same, all about caution. All it takes is for someone to brake where you normally would whilst everyone else is braking sooner and you get contact and the consequences thereof. Sometimes its drivers who are of a higher standard maybe not expecting to have those in front of them to be of a lesser standard and not expecting them to be stopping when they are. Most of the contact I initiate during races is me braking at my normal braking point when the guy in front went super cautious and I had no where to go. That's 90% of life in DR/D anyway. Just amateurs trying to get around in one piece. We all know about the other 10%...

2) I know where I can make up loads of time in QTT. I just can't reach it. I don't know about any other DS4 stick users. But I cannot counter steer a slide particularly well. So I will either be finished breaking before before I turn in or run with BB on the front wheels. My L2 and R2 control is basically on/off, so I find I'm often coasting into and out of corners and wasting valuable time. I could be braver, but we risk causing absolute mayhem when everyone else is around.

So it's a tension down this end of the field. For me at least. I don't have the time necessarily to nail later brakes points to get a faster QT. Which means I'll mostly start mid-pack and have to drive within myself in order not to wreck it all for those who are a bit more cautious.

Thoughts on a postcard?

I finished the Gr.3 speed test at Circuit de la Sarthe. Again, this is the top speed achieved right before the braking zone at the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight. I didn't bother testing both M6s or both RCFs. I don't believe the cars with the highest speed are necessarily going to be the ones with the fastest laps. Braking and handling need to be factored in. I don't really know how to quantify those things, though. This list may be better for figuring out which ones to avoid. Even the best handling won't overcome a huge speed difference. I hope some of you may find this useful for race B. :)

180 McLaren F1
179 Peugeot VGT
178 Ford GT
177 Huracan
177 SLS
177 F-type

173 911
172 RCZ
172 Z4
171 Lancer
171 WRX

170 Atenza

I wouldn't recommend anything under 175 for this track.

How do you get the car record splits? Is that only in the time trial option?

Press up/down to cycle through Car Record or Session Record while you’re on the option, or whatever button you have assigned to turn up/down TCS/BB with. It doesn’t always work properly though, the Car Record part glitches at times and doesn’t show the true car record.

Thanks man, I tried loading my fastest lap ghost but I don't think it worked. Ghost is distracting sometimes so I usually have the splits on the HUD when I qualify. That'll help a lot on my Manufacturers practice.

That's weird, I thought the McLaren F1 was much faster than everything else in a straight line :odd: At least according to Route X testing when it got released. I must have missed a BoP tweak. Either that, or it really doesn't like the bumpy straights of Le Mans :p

I won't be racing, but it's still good to know how the Gr.3 cars stack up. Also, converted to km/h. :)

No worries, You can assign a button to toggle ghost on/off as well while your driving. I just flash it up every so often to see where I stand compared to it, it’s definitely distracting when it’s in front of you. The ghost has been glitched lately too, it doesn’t always load when you want it to for some reason. :)
