Oh well clean streak broken. Got to watch out for people braking in places where you don't need to brake at all :/ Two SR Downs (no penalty) is -3 SR, to 88. I did get a 'shortcut' penalty as well for evading a McLaren. Those really are the clown cars on this track. Sprint by then can't brake, or throw the car in front of you and brake way early. If you know your brakes suck, don't last second throw your car in front of another one right at the braking zone :banghead:

There are some new strategies to consider for race B. Do you evade a car and risk a 1.5 sec 'shortcut' penalty, or hope you get away with a bump, which might only lead to 1 sec... If you have 0.5 sec before the finish, might as well cut the final chicane to round it up to 1 sec since it will do that anyway...

I'll go for the blue S, shortcut penalties don't affect that. However I only got +1 SR for the last race, despite not seeing any SR Down. I did get bumped and had 2 'shortcut' penalties. Avoid all the wobbly cars, but also stay within the lines at all times. PD, you make it so easy :) Not that I want it any different, any leniency will be abused. Loving the tight track limits!

I noticed this morning that the last penalty zone, right before the final chicanes is a problem. In some cases, cars are unghosting right about where you have to start braking. They don't have to brake, because they're trying to get back up to speed. Good place for wrecks.

Heres my race C q lap. Was little sloppy lap. Clean lap was.050 slower, will try to get under 26 tomorrow.
TCS 0 BB 4 (rear) Optimum was 1:26.2xx
Best lap 1:26.459
Key to get away with using TCS 0, you need to increase throttle slower with 1,2 and 3rd gears. If you have speed, 3rd can take faster throttle input

I really hate the grip reduction if you miss the driving line just slightly, its just ridiculous.
Small mistake will cost you the whole lap.
If the grip would be same on whole track, it would be more realistic.
Off course there is dust etc in real race tracks, but I'm talking the track close to the driving line.
If the grip would be more constant, drivers would be more constant and racing would me much better.
Or what do you think??

For me, the results definitely seem better with a more stable car than a top speed car.
Only 2 Lemans races in and Mclaren F1 guys seem to be the biggest idiots (like the TT guys in Gr.4). They use their speed for bullying, but most that I've seen can't drive them very well. Pretty sure Murph is gonna get reset this week.

*Side note; Just noticed that the driving aids are back.
That's why IM ticking with the M6. Aston is faster, but the M6 is so stable and those brakes are like anchors. The aero and no doubt the length of the car help.

@Sven Jurgens Good Idea!! 3 laps sounds good to me.

Race C time is now down to a 1:26.7XX, TCS 2, BB+2. :)

@Voodoovaj Thanks for the info and tips, it’s much appreciated.

I did 10 laps with a best of about 1.33. Had TC at zero. BB at -3. Tricky! Can see the car will be fun when get the hang of it. I haven’t used TC for ages, but can see why you used it with the SF car.

Good lap by you tho.

I used the F-type for awhile and it's alright for race b if you want to use something different. I'm switching to the Toyota Supra racing concept when I hop back on later though.

Thanks man, it’s definitely a finicky car, even slightly to much throttle at the wrong time is catastrophic. I say use whatever let’s you enjoy the game the most. I get tired of ruining good laps (without TCS) in some cars, mainly Gr3 and above, my throttle control just isn’t quite there yet. I don’t typically use it for Gr3/Gr2 in Hot Laps but I do in races most times, I pretty much always use it with Gr1 and the Formula Cars though. Someday I’ll be able to go without for good, but not today. :)

Does the Supra need to be short shifted for best results? If so, at what RPM?

Due to general workload I only did a few B's last week. Is it just me or did the driving etiquette over the last two weeks get even more dirty? I got punted off the track in Myabi a few times but the other driver did not get a penalty (while I didn't get an SR- or similar).

Then today I was keen on hitting french roads. I chose the R8 and just did a Q-Lap of 4.07 which put me on 10th on the grid. Three quarters around Lap 1 already had me on 5th due to other drivers losing it (love when they chose the McLaren GTR due to its top speed but then cannot handle turns). However entering the Porsche curves I got a swift kick in the back by an AMG which pushed me over the grass: 5s seconds for me, nothing for the other guy. Rage-Quit by me. Now I decided to call it a day after roughly 3 Minutes and poured myself a beer.

I’ve not been using TC to try and force myself to learn good throttle control. I rarely drive above GR3.

I’m way off in the SF. Gonna take a while. Will be more fun learning that than the Porsche at Brands Indy!

I don’t mind others using TC and can see it better to use it in sport mode than ruin someone else’s race.

I tried Super Formula against my usual judgement (I still cannot fully grasp this beast) and wish I hadn't. I started P20 without qualifying and got up to P8 after the clown fiesta at turn 1 then the driver ahead decided he'd lose control before the second tight hairpin. I went into the back of him (didn't have those lightning quick reflexes to save me, sadly, nor was he ghosted since he managed to stay on the track. :banghead:) and off the track I went to find myself in last place.

A 4 second gap now formed until the next place so I thought maybe I could recover. I got near P19 who I passed but he didn't like it so he punted me off at the next turn because he desperately needed that 19th place . Another gap of 5 seconds formed so I thought maybe we'd try again although I lost control at the last sector and went off the track and decided to leave the race (kind of shameful but enough was enough). So my first impression wasn't great. Maybe I'll try again at some point but I'm kind of reluctant. Sorry if this comes across as babyrage.

Yep, that one is in a bad spot. I had to go wide there to avoid a penalty car and ended up with 1.5 sec 'shortcut' penalty.

My strategy this week is to switch cars when I get a clean race bonus. So far, 4 races in the Lexus, no bonus. Draft bump from behind still gives you SR Down :/ I'm still hanging on to SR.S which is surprising with all the red ratings in every room so far. I'm down to 4:02 in the Lexus while I was at 4:04 in the Vette. So far my times mainly depend on traffic, it's messy in the back. I wonder what it's like in SR.B

Imo Race B and C should be swapped. Sarthe for race C with SF19, GR.3 on Autopolis for race B.

OK had my first ram session last night at interlagos. No idea what i did wrong but three cars were intentionally ramming folks off track. Absolutely baffled by it TBH but will mark it down as a one off.

If you get around to it, drive the M3. Good speed and very well-mannered. I liked it way more than the Ford GT. It's my secret weapon. This is just between us. Nobody pays attention to the gibberish I post.

Just looked at doing this weeks race c (with the f1 type cars) droppes 1m of my 1.2m on the Honda...and noticed the slight mention of it being a Toyota F1, even tho there identical cars!? Any have this issue b4 or is there a way to sell??

I just got past by one in the Lexus. Better top speed, same brakes, stable. Couldn't pass him again even though he was a bit slower in the Porsche and Corvette curves.

Penalty free down here in SR B!!

The guy on pole was DR S SR(Red)B by race end lol. Only 3 drivers without red dots after the race.

Reading this makes me miss last weeks races lol. Race C was really fun but i didn't try it until sunday. Race B sounds rage inducing but it must be done lol. Might try the SF race now that i am on wheel and hopefully wont lose as much SR.

Race C round 2 - improved my qualifying lap to 1.29.339, good for 3rd in C/D lobby. Alfa Livery on, Raikkonen mode engaged. Give me gloves and steering wheel. Great start off the line, launch through the gap into first and dip it into t1, dollar signs in my eyes. p u n t. Off in the gravel and watch the train go by. Back on the track in p19.

But I am Kimi, god damn it, and I WILL have the drincc. I start putting in the laps. The boys back here dont know about downforce. FM2 on and trust @Pigems that I can floor it and avoid last race's embarrassment. I'm gaining places every time round the tight hairpin, keeping 2nd gear, and seem to be very very fast through the last sector. Some spins, some I had to get my nose in for a little push to get by. Not on being held up after that calamity. Some pit at lap 6, leaving myself and a Swiss driver in 2nd and 1st respectively. He is slower than me. I begin to smell blood. End up coming out of the pits before him... In fifth. I eat up another driver. See another on the side of the road.

I'm... Back in 3rd? With everyone done pitting? After dropping to 19? The swiss chap and I entertain each other, but he cannot match my speed round most of the course and I burn DRS on the back straight and come home right where I started.

Sometimes the results board doesn't tell the story. Drive of a ****ing lifetime. Kimi will have the drincc.

Didn't have long this evening but needed to give it a go. Did a couple of sighters for lines, speeds and breaking points and then conspired to bin it at Mulsanne on my designated 'hot lap'. So we entered the race with a 4.14QT expecting this to just be a sightseeing tour only to find ourselves 5th on the grid behind 2 As with sub 4.00s and 2 more D's with 4.13s... (Apparently there are PPs to be had at my level if I can keep it altogether!)

Anyway, cue what was more or less an easy drive through the French countryside. The F1 ahead breathed too close to the line through TR so I took P4 out of PlayStation. And that's how it stayed. Pretty uneventful and would have been a Clean Race if the F1 hadn't given me a nudge following his overspeed through the Corvettes. I thought this was meant to be carnage-city?

In my excitement I forgot to save the replay. But there you go. Race 1 of hopefully many done.

A weird thing happened. I started the race C with SR80 (thank you race B) and I finished with a blue...SR.A (79)

So I don't understand how this works. The only way it's possible is that the previous race in which I was disconnected by the server like pretty much everyone counted me as a "deserter" and removed me some SR for this ?!

Race B is cool but the SR they give is a joke. I had a good battle with a Dutch, we both ended up with SR white just because of some minor contacts. Started 2nd finished 2nd and I exchanged the 1st spot with the Dutch for 8 min. It was fun

I can't wait that I get another one of these fair race again tomorrow
