This was my most fun race from last night, and it was at DR E. :)
Pretty much everyone had a penalty on the first lap. @Sven Jurgens, why did the green Huracan ghost when he turned down into me at Tertre Rouge? Because of our low DR/SRs?
When I started lap 2 and only had 2 cars in front of me, I'm was supremely confident. I didn't realize at that point that the guy in first actually started behind me, and was really good. P2 decided to go to the beach, so it was just 1 on 1 for most of the last lap. I was able to gain a little time in the turns, but his GTR pulled away on the straights. Then I got lucky at the very last chicane. Lots of respect for that guy. We were both mistake-free on the final lap until that last little bobble. @Pigems it reminded me of the ending from your video.

Not sure why it shows my headlights flashing all the time. I don't do that. I do like the cinematic view, though. Less boring to watch.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I think I'm going to post some videos in the future to see what you guys think- I want to make sure I'm driving as clean as possible but feel like sometimes incidents are my fault that could be prevented with some guidance.

In racing news, Sarthe is my favorite and I know it pretty well until the Corvette Curves- I haven't gotten the left before the flat-out chicane yet. Every other lap puts me in the dirt there in races with traffic. Had a good first run, qualified 3rd and was in second before a Ferrari punted me (and itself) into the first Mulsanne chicane wall, and then I was with the back of the lot bumpin' and grindin' and finished poorly. Second race put me further back (qualy is 4:08.484 now, I know I can chop at least 3 secs off that) and I slid out in aforementioned curve and finished poorly again.

I've been D for so long now I can't remember being C. Life's been busy and I notice my racing suffers quickly when I'm worn out after a long day. Still fun though!

@Redsea666 welcome. I can say that when i started actually getting involved in the conversations here it definitely helped my race craft and speed overall. I also usually dont race after work for the same reason of being tired.

Trying to get that 58 before work. I have time for a few more laps but not sure it's gonna happen right now. I am getting realllllly close though...

It's gonna twitch in the back of my brain all day if i don't beat it lol

My DR hovers around 25k and my recent 3:58 puts me in the top 10 on the grid. I was struggling to get below 4:00 until I switched to the Mustang and almost immediately got the 3:58.

I fear as the week progresses even faster times will be needed. Watch some replays to see if you can work out where you are losing time. I was slowing down too much for the first chicane before the start/finish straight which helped a little.

Good luck with the practice 👍

I'm losing time literally everywhere. I've got a grand total of ten laps here. Ever.

I'll be happy with a 3:59.999 by the end of the week.

Like I said a few posts back, entering the Mulsanne and navigating the chicanes is truly lap defining. A lot of people hit the chicanes WAY too hot and lose tons of time. Brake early for them so you can properly and smoothly apex the entry, midpoint, and then exit. It'll maintain more momentum and gain you a second or two overall.

Is the super formula race a no stop? I pitted but spun out like 5 times and came last 2 laps down lmao.

The 2 Race Bs i did last night went better. Although i did punt a guy off at mulsanne. Felt bad and let him pass when he caught up.

Also, Pro Tip: Dont miss your braking point on the mulsanne chicanes.. -__-

Jumped online yesterday, did a 3:57.7 in the supra (first time driving the car, its pretty great). Did one race was the only A+, mostly B drivers. Started 3rd finished 2nd but realized how dicey it is seeing people in-front and behind battling like crazy.

Decided once was enough, don't need to risk a massive SR/DR drop.

Had two race C tonight, first started P11, room full S,A+ and A drivers. All S rated. In T1 I was outside trying to stay alive and not to hit any cars.
What a havoc it was, ghosted cars flying across the track. I just drove thru and didn't hit enyone. Was P5 after T1 BUTTTT I got 3sec penalty????
Really? Thank you. After I served that penalty, got punted to shadow realm. Nice finished P17, last, 3 drivers quit before the end.

Race two, room with 3 A, including me, rest was B. Started P3 and stayed inside for T1, again someone hit me in the turn while got to P1.
Yeeeees 1sec PENALTY. Finished in P5 this time, rest of the race was clean, lost one pos in the pits.

So how you survive T1 with out penalty??

Low SR makes players ghost sooner. D/S drivers are pretty solid. D/E drivers can drive through other cars when lines intersect too sharply or when the speed difference is substantial.

I was back up to SR.B where I got used as a pinball again. McLaren F1 attracts dirty drivers it seems. Currently at 36 SR in SR.C. Plenty fast people down here now. I do get the occasional fastest lap yet lap 1 is always chaos.

Interesting races this week, quite enjoying B.. seeing as it’s the only race I can really do as GT won’t let the Honda super formula car enter with the Toyota 🤬

Was wondering if anyone can help actually, I’ve noticed that even with every assist off other than weak ABS, something takes control of my car and turns? It’s almost like Jesus takes the wheel. Now to some this may seem helpful, but it takes me off my line every single time..! Most journeys it takes you on would cut the track by 17 miles and leave you with 5 second pens.

I’m stumped.. but at least I’m back to B-B after the Interlagos madness last week.

@Sven Jurgens Any idea why I keep getting this message? I cleaned off every video I had and now have tons of space but I keep getting this message when I start a new session.

Change cars, and put ABS on default.

Tried the Nissan. It's a bit slippery, ain't it? Still, down to 4:01.010. Optimal of 4:00.307.

May have to rethink that 3:59.999 target.

I'll keep that in mind for after my pizza break.

Thanks for the welcome! It's also my first time in the Ford GT and I'm not used to it yet. It feels really good though, almost like it was made for Le Mans......

You need to delete replays. GTS has a fixed storage amount allocated to saving replays no matter how much space you have on the HDD.
It seems to be the same for videos. When I have too many videos on the ps4 GTS won't start even though there's still 50GB disk space.

Got the Audi bonus at lunch time

And the Huracan just in time to go pick up my kids.
A3vd.jpg

That put me back in SR.B, B/B at 42 SR.

I had three goes at a pre-race qualifying lap yesterday in the GT-R. Ended up rage quitting on the third when the ******** track limits appeared at the end of the Porsche curves, I think I ended up with 4:00.1 or something there. Reckon I could easily get into the 58's by the end of the week.

OH GOD. I'M IN A RACE AND THE GRID GLITCH IS BACK. HE'S SPINNING ALL OVER THE PLACE NO. Tell me this isn't a thing again

Righto guys, and girls. Warts and all. Hints? Tips?

Yup. That's the driving line you can see at the end. I'll be turning it off later.

Tertre Rouge is just the worst with the contact and off penalty system. I'm pretty good through it. Not exceeded the track limits. But of course I just got 2 secs as a GT-R got it wrong on my outside sharing his paint with me in the process.

Do you have a clip of this? Dirty stick if you are using a DS4?

No clips unfortunately, I’ll try get a clip when I can but the PS4 capture system is still like witchcraft to me not going to lie. Suspected hardware myself, but she runs true on straights, probably should of added in my original post it only happens on the approach to corners.

Really feels like some form of steering assistance.

Change cars, and put ABS on default.

Happens on all cars, will try ABS back to default.

Cheers both

My average starting positions are 11th & 12th. It puts me right at the first chicane. It's an advantage because, I get off the gas and get get good acceleration away from the car behind and allows me to catch the car ahead into and out of the the final chicane.

From there, the car ahead of me usually does the hard work of catching the car ahead of it and either fighting for position, slowing both or getting a tow and helping me increase my speed down the first straight.

Mentioned a few pages back, best bet is to be easy for the first lap. Establish what the driver ahead is like. Before the end of the first lap, time is made by the Porsche Curves and final chicanes. From there you can set up your moves in when yo pass for position.
Keeping players calm is my M.O. It allows for a fair fight, which I haven't found players objecting to or blocking or escorting me off.

Well have you got the assistance on and or the brake assist? I think these are still in the game anyway.

When the game starts it turns a bunch of stuff on if you select beginner or whatever the equivalent is, change that to custom and set your own assist if you have not already.

This has sorted it! You donny soldier.

Yup have had my stabilisers off for quite some time now.. Nothing but weak ABS.

Turning it back up to default has remedied it! Thanks anyways though.

Good job, very clean lap. My time isn't much quicker than yours, but one tip. The first two left handers in the Porsche curves (with the barrier directly on your right), I'm pretty sure these could be taken flat out. Picture it as one long sweeping curve. Please do forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm sure the community at large will be pretty quick to confirm or deny this....!!!

Well well well. I got home full of the joys of spring. I had 15 mins before the race so did a bit of pre-race QTT.
IMG_20190514_212629.jpg

Happy with that for now. Better than I thought I'd manage at this stage. So then we raced.

Things were going well!

Race 2 of the evening was an P8 start to finish with very little in between.

Race 3 then happened with the aforementioned penalty. Starting in P6. P5 gets it wrong out of the Essess, on the grass just about holds onto it. I have go around his mess and tap the breaks to make TR which is where we comes back along the outside with absolutely no chance of keeping it within the lines, we swap door mirrors, I get 2 seconds, a sitting duck out of PlayStation and in the end finish P8 again. By this point I'm up to around 2K DR and I'm feeling a bit tired. But I surely have a better race in me than that. Let's do one more...

Race 4... Start P5. Trade places with P4 along Hunaudieres but bump him under breaking into the second chicane. Totally my fault. I get 3secs but wait for him all the same. This allows the pack to catch up. We get drafted by an F1 up towards Mulsanne and distracted by all that I miss my breaking point, recognising my race is now pretty much over I go for the better part of valour and get off the track on the outside and into the sand. I get reset back into the middle of carnage between there and Indi and by the time we get to Arnage we're scrubbing SIX SECONDS! P16. On we go then, anything can happen. Sure enough as everyone else enjoys the sand at Porsche and spins out at Ford I start lap 2 back up to P11. By this points I'm defo feeling tired and conspire to foolishly cut the entry into PlayStation for another 1sec. Finish P13. DR back down to 800.

I didn't really want to finish on that one either. But enough's enough for today. I'll only end up ruining other peoples races now!

Quick question for the DR:B EMEA drivers.

What sort of lap times are getting the top grid positions for Race B? I'm definitely not fast enough at 4:05.xxx. But, work is about as busy as a Dodo breeding project. So, I'm off home early for a few hours of practice.
Low DR.B here
I'm the low 3.58, i start top 3 most of the time.
Most of the Top 10 is under 4min in the DrB Races I did

I'm trying to bring it to 3.57 and I know I can, as I have done laps .8s faster in the last sector.

If you start at the back you just have to let people pass you without fighting too much so you stay out of the carnage, and pass people when they serve penalties.

---

Btw The fastest lap in Europe was done cutting the track, this guy must be exploiting some track limit tolerance related to lag or something, because the replay shows 4 wheels out all the time.
