Just send me a friend request(CnF_Pigems) on PSN to join us, it’s a friends only lobby. :)

Well ladies and germs, after my brief sabbatical from the game. (Almost forgot what it was like to have the warm embrace from my wife, smiles of hope from my children, and the bathroom. Was getting tired of defecating in this old bucket of chicken).
Anyhow
Having issues finding the right BB with the gtr on Monza. Any help greatly appreciated

I did one race at Dragon Trail Gardens in my Citroen yesterday, and it's difficult for me to get back into after playing Project Cars 2. I started 2nd, dropped to third for a little bit and then got back up to second. Nothing much happened after that, apart from 2 penalties for going off the track. The Citroen is good through the corners and I did gain on the Peugeot out front, but just wasn't fast enough on the straights. Guess I'll use another car.

Couple more to add to the list

Decent speed but slippery in Ascari, not a real contender.

HNwd.jpg

Yep this is a contender. Best lap in race (no drafting) 1:48.8, fastest yet for me.

Atenza is up now, second attempt.

Atenza can wait until tomorrow  Second attempt was 'over' before the start. I had a good race in the first attempt with the driver starting behind me in this race. I accidentally bumped him in Lesmo 2, waited for him to recover, then he waited to let me pass and again after he jumped me in the pit. I said sorry after the race and it was all good. So I didn't expect him to give me a little push at the start lol.

It would not have mattered, that race was a mess. I was a bit harsh on one driver (turning in at the apex) after he bumped and dirty blocked me a couple times. That after a dive bomb from another player so I was on edge already. After reviewing the replay, his first bump could have been lag, and what I perceived as dirty blocking could just have been those 'who goes which side' misunderstandings. Then it escalated, he dove on me, got a penalty, then brake checked me and spun out. Luckily no real harsh words were said after the race, just some light sarcasm.

Two Race As on my second account to test the water - qually time 1:04.7 (main account has a 1:04.5).

· Started 5th, end up 8th. Poor start (no false start check, but didn't have my foot down). Punted into a spin on lap two. End up last and 6 seconds down at that point. SR down

· Started 5th, end up 4th. Better start. Cleaner racing, but still SR down. Ended up the best B/S driver at the finish.

These two races had three A/S drivers with qually times at worst in the very low 1:04s , a couple of B/S and the rest D/S. Overall got me 100 DR and -7 SR.

Maybe I'll race here again when more B/S drivers wake up (7am in London!)

After reading some comments on here about the Renault GR4, I gave it a go for qually in race B. Got it down to a 1:39.222. Certainly a safe race car (and is really good for the last corner in 3rd), but my Lambo qually time is a 1:38.6.....and I was quick right away in that. Feel like a sub 1:38 would just be easier to get in the Lambo.

I might do some Race Cs from the back today. Any tips on a good car for a no-stop race at Monza? Lexus? Toyota Surpa?

I've never really liked the Gr.3 cars. I'd prefer that the Brands Hatch race was a one-make with a 60s/70s muscle car. The Challenger would be a lot of fun. But for me it's still more appealing than the other two races, next week.

I ran a few lobby races with the Nova set to n500 on the ring. That was really fun. The Nova is a fun car.
We don’t see enough variety of the n class. N300 for Tsukuba is just too much. Tsukuba is rough already now you give em faster cars with garbage brakes I dunno. I think Maggiore GP with some faster n cars would be a hoot also.
Or f40 one make on Gardens....

I’ll race Brands for sure gr3. Great track period.

Started every race I have on pole infront of the clown that finished 1st above.
Don’t know how he gets away with the consistent ramming and still maintain an A rank?

He pushed me off in 10/20 attempted races. Don’t know how people get enjoyment out of the game this way.

I let him go at the start just so I could get a clean SR race. Some drongos aren’t worth the risk.

Monza isn't that bad..or maybe I'm lucky?

So since none of you prudes would help me with my BB...I've been going +3 then +1.. pitting around 4th with hard on

Just went a race with no tire change. Last half of last lap is where you really start to notice

Yeah, I've had "run ins" with that player as well.

Yeah I've had to wreck him once or twice for behaving like a pork chop.

The Daily Races are a cool idea in general as You don't need to wait for lobbies but I think there are too few of them.

I mean only 3 races that you can do for the whole WEEK, where one of them i a nonsense race with some kind of a ****** car like Toyota Yaris or Fiat 500. You need to have some kind of a small and slow car fetish to do this for the whole week. And even if you are I think you may get bored.

IMO there should be 4 Daily Races categories where you would have a race with one of the car categories:
Daily Race A: NXXX or Gr. 4 cars
Daily Race B: Gr.3 or Gr.2 cars
Daily Race C: Gr.1 or Gr.X cars
Daily Race D: Rally / Drift competition.

With this setup you would have interesting races each week. It makes me sick when I need to wait the whole week to change a race.
The alternative is to race Audi TT in 2 out of 3 daily races until I puke with Audi logos like I'm some kind of a Sonic Hedgehog.

Besides they are too short. I like the idea that the Daily Race C is around 10 laps with fuel and tire usage. We should have more of those.
Without the pit stop, during 5 laps what can you do? Become last when you get rammed, that's about it. 0 chance for redemption during a 4/5 lap race.

Lexus is always good on fuel. Best from the back is use 50% fuel for the first 5 laps in FM2 and short shifting, then switch to FM1 with less shot shifting to keep up with the cars that exit the pit.

The MacLaren BMW surprised me with its fuel efficiency and perhaps the GT-R is as well. No stop is pretty slow though, only faster from the back if you otherwise get slowed down to 1:54 laps anyway in the first half. With no stop I usually got 1:55 lap 2, 1:54 until 6, then 1:52. Yet that was not with the most efficient or fastest cars.

Dumb decision to join Race C when I 'm back in A/S. Nothing put penalties for me each and every lap. Mustang squeezes me down the inside: I get a penalty. I go off on my own: penalty. I sneeze: penalty.

I've been experiencing the same. You bump > SR down, I get bumped > SR down. You're also placed in tight situations especially around Variante where SR downs are inevitable. Also hate the people that purposely draft bump you even when I'm in a slower car. 🤬 them.

We’d all love to have more daily races, but the competition already thins out drastically during non peak hours with only 3 races, there just isn’t enough people playing to divide up the player base any more than it already is. Also, I happen to like racing slow cars and so do a lot of other people. How can you complain about racing slow cars and then say you want drift comps? They’re not even races for one, and you can’t use a shifter/clutch/tuning in Sport Mode so it would be absolutely pointless to have a drift comp. Rally I could maybe get into. :)

Nice quiet Sunday morning for clean races. Well actually the fighting was between all the Mustangs at the top, backfield was clean for a change. I did stick to the winning strategy for clean races, dawdle behind until Ascari, be last into the 2 chicanes lap 1. That netted me a 4 for 4 result this morning, quest complete.
tPwd.jpg

Thursday was the best day to race this week. Monday terrible, Saturday a close second.

It's interesting how the meta changed during the week. First it was all MacBWarens which got replaced by GT-Rs during the week and today the Mustang has taken over.
uPwd.jpg

I had a great duel with the Mustang finishing in front of me. Clean driver, but the Mustang indeed just edges out the GT-R where needed. The Mustang is also the car I got the fastest lap in with MacBWaren and GT-R close behind.

I'll take the Mustang back out tonight to see what I can do with it without avoiding everyone like the plague. Getting a clean bonus from the back on Monza is at 11/10 difficulty level. It took about 100 races to get those 35 clean race bonuses. The Audi on Monday and the Genesis on Saturday took the most attempts, 9, longest clean streak was 4 (again today) until reset by a bump from behind. My SR never left SR.S, the worst was one race with -17 SR getting in the sub 90's for a race. DR stayed stable around 22K, bit up in the slower rooms, bit down in the fast rooms.

Long week, again next week :) It should be a lot easier and a lot less time consuming on the Brand's hatch daily B. Less laps, less forgiving, less dive opportunities. Just the penalty zone slow downs to worry about.

Sorry I may lead this topic isnt relate to cars. But notice the post of two pic were golf. What is your handicap? Mine is 6.

Very nice!! That’s a great accomplishment man!

My low point so far is 7.6, but I ended last season at 8.8. If I could just putt I’d probably be near scratch lol, according to The Grint(golf stats app) I drive like a 5, have the iron play and short game of a 3, and I putt like a 17, to arrive at an average score of 82.2. I shot a 90 at one point last season with 45 putts and 12 Gir.

I did have one magical day last year where my putter got hot though, I fired off my one and only sub 70 round of 68 with 5 birdies. Now if only I could figure out how to repeat it!! :D

These are from yesterday’s session. :)

I managed to stunt jump (completely misjudged its braking) across the chicane with the McLaren F1 at Variante although it still reset my position. Sadly, ran out of space so I couldn't save the replay (no idea why we can't use more HDD space). :banghead:

slow car fetish

First time I've heard of it being referred to like this. Looks like I fall under this category, please don't judge.

As much as we all like to go fast, having a race with slow cars can equally be as skill intensitive and fun. I like the balance between having fast and slow races. I hope it stays this way, personally.

Well this morn I decided to venture into daily race C, I mean , I knew it was a risk and it didn't disappoint me.

Race 1, mid pack start. Take a decent bump into turn 1 then another bump and I'm spun around and 20th 15 seconds into race. Get back to 16th a lap later when a Spaniard just doesn't brake into turn 1 and resets me. Regardless I soldier on an can prob still finish top 10 but a Dane who I'm passing into ascari trys to outbrake me ends up in the sand rejoins and bumps me. Next lap I see the Spaniard that bumped and given my race is ruined sent him to the realm, served penalty and finished 15th.

Ironically this was the 99 SR room

Anyway after my escapades last race I'm in the naughty room for the next race. Start 5th and have a nice battle with each of 4th and 3rd as I pass them and take a podium. Nice clean and fair race....the naughty room was much cleaner than the 99 sr room.

Ok back to the fastish and cleanish lobby. Starting 3rd. Quickly take 2nd but they dive bomb me from miles away into turn 1 runs wide and bumps me at turn 2 but I stay on track. This costs me about 3 seconds and loses me a couple of position, costs them nothing. I then get into a protracted battle with a brit who is so much slower than me but regardless of what I do just uses my car to slow down he then brakes so early into the 2nd chicane I bump him and get a 5 sec penalty. To add insult to injury I get sent airborne by a cone lying middle of lesmo 2 and end up in sand. Eventually finish 5th.

Next one was a 2 horse race between me in 2nd and the pole sitter, rest of the grid was D/A and we were A+/A. Boring race pole sitter and myself circulated about 2 seconds apart for 9 laps and 20 seconds ahead of 3rd.

Ok back to top split. Start 10th. Race is going nice but is very slow. Lap times are 1.50's and 1st-8th are covered by 3 seconds. I avoid all the elbows and pit from 5th with the most fuel and rejoin in 4th but a Saudi who iv passed in pits takes umbridge at this and dives and bumps me out of way into turn 1. Drops me behind all the folk I passed in the pits. Next lap I go to pass a no stopper into the 2nd chicane after they signal me to do so. I run wide but make the 2nd apex and they try to come round outside and we bump. They run off track and I get a 5 sec penalty...cheers for that buddy...finish 8th.

One last bash then. Naughty lobby but I'm pole. Decide this is just going to be a push from start to finish. Defend turn 1 then I'm off. 3 mid 48's then pit followed by 3 low 48's....win by 14 seconds....time to switch off lol

So all in all I cant deny I had fun but a Sunday morning at monza is bad for your ratings!!

Did Race A twice to get my Daily Miles this morning. (And won me a blue Firebird. :D)

Started 3 & 4. Finished the same. Mostly clean/blue grids. Pretty clean for a Sunday morning.

Decent week for me. Really enjoyed Tsukuba and DT-Gardens. Not enough time/guts for Monza.

Yes I raced a few at Monza on my main account earlier in the week and actually had 3 clean races in a row, (only because I ran from pole to victory in two of them), the middle of these races though I started 2nd and battled a Portuguese driver all race swapping positions a lot without any problems before I eventually won by less than a second. 👍

As I said early starting from the back on my GTP account didn't work as well, I got a DR reset as my SR dropped to C due to all the mess, a dc and eventually one driver who did everything they could to stop me overtaking them until eventually I ran into the back of them when they moved in the braking zone to block me, I'm not sure why would you even do this when it ruins both our races but there you go. Today I tried to get S back but my gains are so small due to lots of bumps from behind, even a clean race didn't improve me from SR B.

There are also some special drivers in SR C, one intentionally hit everyone that moved. They of course had a police car livery with lots of messages on it just because that adds to the fun. I encountered them in the warm up, so I was expecting it, so when I was behind them in the race I was not going to pass. I just waited until they got to the penalty zone because of course they had a big penalty for all the carnage they had caused, one very good reason to keep the zones because without it I and many others would have been added to their hit list long before they would have been removed from the race due to all the penalties. They at least got the SR E they deserved and I reported them, not that it will get them the ban they deserve but it should, if you want to smash into all the other cars just play offline. :yuck:

The starts are also glitching a lot again. :banghead:

I feel like I understand how to properly use brake balancing, now! I get that I've had it explained to me before, but with some qualifying that I did on both Races A and C, I feel like I have more hands-on experience, too.

From what I understand, the amount of curvature in a given course is directly proportional to how much you'll want to have a rearward brake bias. Just by moving BB all the way to the rear led to me shaving off ~0.4 seconds off my best time after only a lap or two! Meanwhile, I had noticed that in qualifying at Monza, I tried using the Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 before, and I had swapped to the SLS-AMG GT3 - the former seemed to have better brakes when approaching that first chicane, but the latter had superior straight-line performance. I realized that I was able to compensate for the brakes when I moved the brake bias towards the front.

So at the moment, I get that more curves = more to rear, and more straights = more to front, but I also get that this can somewhat vary with the car being used - especially its weight distribution/engine placement/drivetrain - but also depending on your tire strategy when tire wear is enabled. This overall dovetails with how I used BB adjusting to make the X-Bow R feel much more stable under braking at Fuji Speedway, when entering turn 1.

I also hypothesize that the Skyline GT-R models are popular at these two N300 races which limit players to provided cars (specifically the "Gentleman's Agreement" cars) because both courses have been quite turn-heavy, being Suzuka East and Tsukuba. Perhaps if the next course to use this selection were something like Tokyo Central, things may begin to look a bit different.
