So I tied on a Wooly Bugger and went in with a bow cast, with out much success. I figured they were down a bit deeper, so I changed to a nymph and watched the nice graceful arc of the line unwind as it gently alighted upon the water. Suddenly the quiet is shattered as the line slips through my hand and erupts in a spray of water, punctuated by the banshee wail of the reel as the line peels off! It truly is a great time for the Hatch.

I apologised to the guy I punted (he was easy to pick because he was the only other R8). He apologised back, which I don't understand. He didn't do anything wrong, it was all on me. Another day above DR 1

Common courtesy will hide a multitude of racing inadequacies. It's the little things that go a long way to making a disappointing and frustrating race result feel a bit easier to take
That being said, I do enjoy a bit of post-race salt, especially when there's actually no one to blame... even if I plead guilty on that on myself
