Looking back on last night race B, it did improve as the evening wore on. I managed to squeeze in 22 races in my usual, no qualify or practice, just jump in. Of course at first, new track, big mess, yet over time it started to stabilize and people got more careful.

I managed a clean streak of 4 (although one of those was a race where I was the only one, everyone else got kicked while loading the track) and a couple more clean race bonuses. There were a few bad ones and I did get briefly kicked into SR.A during crash happy hour. Also one race I just let the penalties add up to see what would happen (at 55sec it starts the disqualification countdown) in another I tried serving the penalty in the pit (doesn't work) or besides the track (doesn't work, have to be on the tarmac)

At the end of the night it was very clean. Much less people to pass serving penalties and no more bumps from behind. People properly backing off when only their nose was level with the hind quarter of my car at corner entry instead of pushing through. I think it might actually work. I still traded some paint on Bluemoon in a close battle without any penalties. Side by side contact is still possible as long as there is no bumping.

Now I wonder if people will find a way to stay on the track at Monza. I'm usually one of the very few to end that race without any penalties. Since penalties don't simply burn off anymore that track is going to be very interesting :)

Thanks UGA95 i will take mine out for a spin now and let you know how i get on. To be honest its probably just me being to heavy on the accelerator on my DS4 usually go for traction on +2 and brake balance 2 towards the rear.

Wish me luck the events just about to start, am on pole with a 135.689.

Edit: Clean sweep ;) fastest quali, fastest lap and the win! Cheers UGA95 i think half the champagne is yours mate.

Since I decided to do less sport mode I tanked my sr and dr. The timing couldn't be worse lol. Anyway, I will go for the trophies now.

About the newly implemented algorithms for sr and dr, I knew something was coming like this. If you were inactive in game there was a counter with a message saying something about being penalized to much. I always found that very strange, I expected some message about being inactive for too long.

I hope it will bring you guys what you expect from it. For me it is very frustrating that some can hit me from the track, take my place and points and I recieve a penalty on top of that. The only think to do for me is driving like those idiots to take revenge. And that is unfair for other drivers. Maybe gts is just not my think or I take it too serious.

Well, I won't be missed I guess lol..

Very good news. I found the same last night. Weird how others are reporting it to be worse though
Iam on during the day because of work times ,I noticed yesterday & today I didn't get rammed once from behind .Iam dr D & sr s I'll dr c later through this new system by the looks of it .But I think running a penalty off during a race is daft imagine that in real life racing the car in front suddenly stops on a fast corner at the apex it would be chaos and dangerous

Can someone recommend a good car for race 3, i am not a very good driver and every car i have tried seems determined to spin out once i have about 3 laps of tire wear.

My go to for GR.3 is the Mitsubishi Evo. Pretty stable to get used to the extra power.

Anyone else finding the matchmaking not so great ATM? I just did three race Cs and in one of them there were 2x DR S, 3x DR A, 6x DR B and the rest were all below that. This was my first time playing since the update.

Could it be because there aren't many SR S players due to the new penalty system?

Probably. I dropped from SR S to B yesterday.

Sorry it's a little off topic, but the delivery person from Sainsbury's (supermarket) actually SAW me play the game through the window and waited for the race to be over before knocking on the door. He said he enjoyed watching those laps. Haha.
Maybe I need some curtains.
He's probably one of the guys on here who is staying off Sport Mode for a bit out of fear of the new penalty system, haha what a legend

Just did a couple runs at race, first race i started 2nd and it looked like someone didn't get the memo on new penalty changes, he shoved through 3 cars and T-boned me off the track sending me to 14th, took a HUGE DR and SR hit (-1240 DR, 99 to 88 SR). Second race started 3rd and fell to 5th due to accidentally cutting a corner and serving the penalty but moved to 4th due to someone else not serving their penalty, yet still got a clean race bonus.

Just a quick update on my self-inflicted disqualification due to ignoring a penalty from a race at Willow Springs the other day. It looks like I only lost 2 SR points (!) in that race according to my stats on Jason Guernsey's webpage. In fact it appears I lost way more SR points in another race trying to recover from near-last after a first lap incident. I'm not sure how many DR points I lost due to the DSQ as my DR graph has 3 races combined, but it could have been over 2000 DR points given I had OK results in the other 2 races.

You'll need to register etc to get the full benefits of the site like personal qualifying ranking, race history etc etc. There's plenty of good stats to look through.
The site is run by GTP member Jason Guernsey (Jasguer), and has a separate thread about his stats webpage.

Did Race A twice and not a single orange down arrow since the update. And I’ve been bumped intentionally a few times.

Is it can’t show the bar chat on iOS device?

I really like the system that’s in place now. I’ve raced quite a bit since the update and haven’t seen a single orange arrow. All greens. And only one penalty (4-sec) that resulted from me hitting a wall at high speed at Tokyo Expressway, which was my fault for not braking soon enough. My DR/SR has climbed a lot faster too.

Did the C race earlier. 19 in the field, qual'd 12th. 1st lap, punted off to 18th. Finished 9th. Me & 2 others got the clean race. 16 finished with penalties.

Interesting happening for me.. I got punted which caused me to miss both parts of an s bend, would have been certain one and maybe two short-cutting penalties. Didn't even register a thing against me. Almost like it got smart enough to not count shortcut penalties immediately after being rammed. Will be interesting to see how this goes.

Two daily race C videos (both mostly B/S drivers):

First one probably is the more interesting to watch, started 4th, screwed up big time (twice!) on lap 2 in the chicane at the bottom, dropped to 17th and made my way back up to 8th (actually 7th, but then dropped to 8th again).

This one I started from pole and won - a start/finish victory. Probably rather boring to watch, but it was very exciting for me when driving. A few weeks ago I was happy to get the M6 through 3 consecutive turns without spinning or crashing, and now I did 11 laps with degrading tyres without a bigger mistake :)

btw in the race before that I actually managed to spin out at the exit of the hairpin 3 times within the first 4 laps

Had some great ,clean and fair races in daily C yesterday, no issues with penalty's and also manged to get 3 clean race bonus as well as a bunch of DR points, am now 98 in South Africa, quite chuffed with that:cheers::cheers:

I got to DR A!

And a great evening of clean and fair racing saw me with 2 streaks of 3 clean races (only ruined by a guy being far too aggressive into T1 on BB, using me as a barrier to make the corner, so I tapped him back and got a penalty :() There were several contacts in most of the races but (aside from the one I mentioned) none my fault and the system recognised that. Very happy.

Oh, also saw @FUNanywhere in a Yamagiwa race :gtpflag:

Today’s menu:

Nurb GP mr2 3 laps
Alsace wrx road 4 laps (why always this car ????:banghead:🤬)
Gr1 monza 11 laps
Is it not the new Impreza then?

Oh ffs I guess I’m finishing campaign mode again. 100% circuit experience and missions yesterday just got professional and endurance league to go

Apparently the MR 2 One Make doesn't BoP the car
Weird since they always used to BoP everything, even one-makes
