I generally like the A road car races, but I have got to say the MR2 isnt doing anything for me.. as a car it is a bit dull to drive

Weird. I always wondered why the one-make races were BoP'd...

Edit: CONGRATS on getting to S by the way bro :)
I always thought it's because the BoP would also lock the tuning, but in the MR2 one make the tuning is still locked, so I'm just as clueless as you

Big thank you mate!!

Even if it was to lock the tuning, I noticed that when it balances the power and weight it will often balance it at 103% power or 98% weight... surely it should just be 100% for both?

You're welcome. I also achieved my goal of getting to DR/A just last night :D

My thought process is that locked tuning is bundled with BoP, so they can only lock them if they apply BoP, hence the added/nerfed power and weight. But I get why it's confusing, and only got even more confusing because now we know locked tuning isn't bundled woth BoP

Congratulations on your part as well! Cheers and good luck on your path to S :D

Good Daily Race choice today.

I know it always goes wrong when I predict, but I'll try to reach premiere DR: A today, somehow, with the little of luck :)

Starting now with Alsace:

Gr.1 Monza a day after the penalty changes. Kaz just wants to watch the world burn.

Looks like another night of time trials for me. Tried the WRX Road Car one make and eh, felt really dull and that engine noise was grating. MR2 was strange on Nurb GP, it really could use a couple hundred extra HP to be fun on that circuit. Maybe they meant to unlock tuning with the BoP thing, but it only works on garage cars and this isn't a garage race?

Good luck @zaxs, but you have quite a long way to go to A by the looks of your slider bar! :)

I think it's a good idea to test... given the new system, any participants should be much more cautious of bumping and or cutting corners. Should generate a much cleaner event.

I am not at my PS4 right now but aren't there even separate information fields for BoP and tuning, doesn't it say "BoP on" and "Settings fixed" in the race description (like Tyre wear and fuel consumption for Race C)?

In the lobby setup there is a BoP toggle and a Tuning Allowed toggle. If the lobby owner prohibits tuning, all the tweaks get locked, but if BoP is off you can still change the power and weight ratios.

My guess as to why it's not working in the MR2 race is because it's not a Garage car; it's a game-supplied car. And so you can't buy power and weight upgrades, and thus can't change the power/weight ratios. Well technically you could lower them, but you wouldn't be able to raise them beyond 100%. I'm guessing the game just automatically prohibits power/weight changes to game-supplied cars.

I mean this "BoP: None" and "Settings: Fixed", so the game already tells you that the settings are fixed and that this is not necessarily linked to BoP:

BOP and prohibition of tuning aren‘t linked to each other, I see heaps of lobbys with only one of the two switched on.
However I agree on being confused with PD BOPing One-Makes...

Had some good races around Alsace last night. Didn't bother qualifying for the first couple so started at the back and worked my way up into the top ten. Did a quick quali lap which meant I was starting nearer the front and then had some good, fairly clean racing for the rest of the night. No wins but a few podiums and the rest mostly top 5's. Had a couple of idiots in the lobbies using me as their brake but mostly respectful racing.

With driver change *onecandream*
Imagine you driving off to a 10 second gap and then giving the car to the worst crash kid in the lobby only to completely wreck your result.
GTA‘s rally races are also some sort of co-op races which never ever work out, either your co-driver doesn‘t know what to do or your driver is too dumb to get the directions you‘re giving 🤬

It sounds awesome in theory but will turn out terrible, unless you can only compete in these races with a friend who also is online or a random player of your selection -> Teammate-Tinder

Did a few times race A with the Toyota MR-2 on the Nürburgring GP track.
Wow that combination is really fun imo.!
When traction control fully deactivated, it allows you to perfectly position this well-balanced car exactly like you want to with the throttle or letting off the gas.
For me the car doesn't lack any power. Like this, you are not going crazy fast but if you want to be quick around the corners it is super satisfying when you nail the apex just right.

I extremely love it when I just nail T2, powersliding at 95km/h then exiting at around 110, and leaving everyone in the dust (except for that one Top 10 who's always ahead of me :banghead:)

Really looking forward to Race A tonight :) Nurb GP is one of my better circuits and I like the N cars, particularity RWD Japanese :)

Thanks!
I came closer, with some ok and more ok races...

Third was perfect and in last one game paired me with some superstars, including B_Gatos.

Most nerves I lost bcs unfair penalties, specially when I went from track, lost everything - and got penalty!

You'll love it :) Also, the new penalty system might be working, just my opinion. In all the races I had so far with the new system, I haven't had a single penalty nor divebomb. Yes, even at T1 Nurb GP
Good luck

I think it is personally. Lots of people disagreeing though.. weird. As you will see on the thread below, I've had excellent races in the past two evenings... 7 of 8 races with clean race bonus! No unfair penalties etc.. and only one race with orange SR flag (which was correct)

Just had the dickest of moves pulled on me at bathurst in fia races. Hit from behind in braking zone for the chase and manage to not only not hit the guy in front who outbraked himself and ran wide but made a clean overtake on him for 2nd after biding my time in midfield before pitstops. He procedes to punt me off at the next corner dropping me down the order to 7th 20 seconds from the lead.

All of the last 4 laps were then under the previous fastest lap and managed to get 6th at the end 13 seconds behind the winner but no apology or anything after the race.

Sport mode needs endurance races. 1 hour at least.
Eh it depends on how it's handled, even some of the 10 lap races in race C and FIA sometimes are tiring and takes about half an hour to 45 mins counting the qualifying. I've done online endurance races in other games but for some reason GTS seems to take more energy.

Because there is more at stake, i.e DR and SR :)
