This should be fun at 7:30AM

Edit: started to conserve, but no one else wanted to. Was around swapped positions with top 7 players all race. So, had to pit for tyres and added a bit more fuel, to run hard to the finish. Paid off.

Are there Alpha 4c's being raced? I have done some laps in a couple of cars, and for instance in the RC Lexus, I am dead slow ... like 1:16.5 times. I am a hair under 1:15 in the Alpha which I find easy to drive ... it's much like the Lotus in GT4 IMO. But I reckon if I leave the track in it in a race, I will find it difficult to get back on the track ... I wish they'd just re-set cars that leave the track ... just wondering if the 4c is race-able. By the way that devil guy in a slightly different account name (I presume its the same driver) is a top 10 in Asia with the 4c. But it seems the RC is the faster car for Goodward for those who can drive it ... feels like a bus to me. Maybe can have two races this weekend but if the car is a disaster I may not put my self through pain ...

Yes. I raced a 4C after a bit. Excellent to win outright. So easy to steer. Tyre wear is non-existent. Just drive the thing hard or however. It does what it does.

I have no love for the Citroen Gr.3/Gr.4 and Puegeot Gr.3 cars, but this thing. Gets my vote for the dumbest race car in game. The S-FR Concept is second.

PD, why you no use this as the Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars?

I adore the Scirocco, but the GTI road car just needed some tweaks. The VGT GTI SS is RIGHT THERE. Even has a tow hoop. Put a number on it and at least give it the GTPSP blacked-out interior. Yeah, I did buy the GTI Gr.3 to see how it goes, but I HATE how it looks from the door up.

Gr.4 was at Bathurst in a Manufacturers race at some point, I don't remember it being a daily.
I'd never miss one. They're all recorded in my Kudos qualy history, assuming I wasn't just having an awful day in a gr3 lol.
The combo of gr4 Bathurst used to be on high rotation before they went to weekly, I love it as it feels like the GTP enduro real life races.

Well I never even considered the Huracan until tonight but I gotta say it's damn smooth around Goodwood and still some time left around the track.. I think this is my new fave car for this combo :P

I really like this track now and can't wait to try it with other group cars! wish I had an old classic 20 mill dream car to race here 👍

i was going to have a race but had to upgraded the Fanatic wheel etc setup ... now my brakes are all weird. Totally different ... steering is better though but I'm going to have to try to find the setup for the brakes I had before. quite annoying - my times were consistent at Goodwood but now they are 1.5 seconds different every lap ... I am even finding myself watching the brake force indicator on the dash area ... But at least the wheels left toggle is now working - it stopped working last PD update - but my Porsche RSR wheel is still not supported by the PS4. I assume that Fanatec want to force people to buy a DD setup in order to have support for anything but their good value LC wheel. That's not right IMO. Its enough to stop me considering a DD setup.

Oh and a question - wasn't there a bonus when you got your 100th win - or a bonus around 100 wins?

I get turned in on from someone behind me and managed to get both a corner cutting penalty and a penalty for pushing the other guy off. Outstanding.

You ever do something dumb you want to do but know you shouldn’t?
Me too.
Entered race b after running some qual. I noticed a b s player on my qual list a tenth up on me. You seem to be getting faster consistently now! Nice work sir.
So my time starts me tenth. First four laps go by with a few position swaps. I made an error at the chicane after getting very nervous about an unstable BMW nearby.
Anyhow final lap come through the kink just behind six seven eight and they are gettin goofy goin side by side.
Good for me I figure.
They screw up a bit exiting the uphill chicane and I am in perfect position to pounce.
So we are come out the chicane go left and unstable bmw and corvette are trying to side by side the right hander into the braking zone lol.
Beemer makes contact vette off! Sweet time for me to follow the bmw up..the...whaaaa?
BMW stops on track at apex of uphill right hander. Wtf! Come on man don’t be an idiot. I was so surprised I hit him while braking tried to avoid him to the right, but dang it I had a head of steam lookin to pass him before the entry to the high speed esses if he didn’t get a good run.
Boom, hit gas car into right side wall. Try to get going...whole field passes me...finish dfl.
This was one of those races that just is so frustrating. Of all things to happen.
IF YOU KNOCK SOMEONE OFF TRACK DONT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE APEX OF A CORNER YOU DANG PERSON!
Just get out of the way of everyone then wait. For crying out loud.
Ah well, this is one of those times when you just grab a cold one, and lick your wounds.
I get it man, you wanted to give the spot back. That’s a good guy probably in the bmw. Just please try to think not only about the guy you hit but also others coming.

I gotta say, it felt good to enter up and get away from the thread of doom over there. Jeez. Whatever you do never get involved in a land war in Asia! Only slightly less known is this...Never go in against gt planet when PHYSICS IS ON THE LINE!

Stay thirsty, my friends.

Try the f type, just set my best time in it, smooth and fast

I found the steering combats that at THIS track. It's a pretty stable car outright. Little "pre"-turning/flick/twitch of the steering, does wonders.
You should try the f type, I love it, surprised none of my friends have tried it

Jumped on for a quick race. Circus. Got rear ended lap 1, 5sec penalty. Lap 2 rear ended again 5sec penalty. Then back traffic are yahoos pushing anyone off that tries to pass. Nope I’m out.

Last time we had Gr.4 at Bathurst (Christmas week) I clocked a 2:18.289 in the M4.

Slow, basically.

Have a solid 4/5 months on my wheel now. So, let's see how much we can improve on that . . Best time in Gr.3 is 2:04.053, and there's no way that they're 14 seconds faster than Gr.4. May not race much next week, as I think I'm going to start sticking to Race C almost exclusively. But, I'll be hotlapping the Gr.4 NSX.

Based on your gr3 time I reckon you might be able to take 4 or even 5 seconds off your old gr4 effort.
Happy hunting.

Ok so my 1 stop was slowwww. 19:33 vs my 19:23. Granted I didn’t push hard at all, 2nd sat right behind me the whole race thinking he’d pass me at the last sec for the pits and get less fuel since he trimmed too. Little did he know I trimmed for the end lol. Dives into pits and I keep going

Hmmm
I looked up the beemer that caused the chaos in my race today. Peak (on current account over 69k dr clean by lookin at stats, by driving I’m not so sure, could be a farmer)
Bumper rider. Poor technique. Deserved a punt from me. In this case though I wasn’t certain...I am glad I drove against that car like I drive against any other. I’ll never punt unless I am sure. This guy deserved it but I wasn’t sure (alien in hiding under a tenth account?) That’s the difference between me at what 300 races? I don’t give a crap ultimately about points. ONE ACCOUNT. EFF WITH ME AND GET DAS BOOT. LOL. I get what I get when I try my best period. I can’t help it if I can’t race 24-7 like many.
I can’t lie that comment felt good.
I can sit at my 99sr and know I am not overzealous.
With the unlimited time effect some of these fellas have I have no doubt I’d get those points in their shoes, but for many ID BE BETTER. Funny thing is I really don’t give a damn.
I just like playing this game the best I can. A race when the mood strikes is healthy.

JUST KNOW. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE UP AGAINST IN SPORT MODE OR IF THEY EVEN GIVE A DA** ABOUT PUNTING YOU IF YOU PULL THAT “I AM A PLUS I WILL BUMP BY THIS PEASANT” HORSE DUNG.

RESPECT.

Happy hunting.

I'll be happy enough getting below 2:10. Ecstatic if I can get into the 2:08s.

Edit. I'll be happy with 2:13\14.

Apparently non coffee brain made me think my old Gr.4 time was 2:14 for a minute. Coffee neeeed when I get into work, I think.

I wonder if qualifying is with less fuel? Might explain the discrepancy. 2nd stint with half fuel and fresh tires get closer to quali speed.

Bit late I know but... the fuel load during qualy shows a full tank. I too notice there is often a discrepancy in handling between race and qualifying, even in races with no fuel consumption or tyre wear.

you guys are why i tried online racing. My plan was single player with no intention of anything internet related. I came from GT4, and decided to get back. i was surprised that some of my favorite tracks were not here (hopefully one day); Monaco and Laguna Seca.

I only bought a PS4 to play GTS, and I only bought GTS because it included Bathurst. I was caught by surprise that many of the old tracks had gone, but the great thing about being online is that the game keeps gaining content, so some of the old tracks like la Sarthe showed up. I never intended to race online either, I just ran out of offline content before an update. There was no GT lounge for example. I seem to remember reading a promise of Deep Forest returning, but still no sign of it :yuck:.

Hah I fixed my pedals and wow - the left toggle now can actuate the mirror views. It cannot do anything else though - its not supported by PD and the ps4, because its a $599 Fanatec wheel ... it may be supported on the PS4 I suppose when the PS5 is introduced. Oh but none of this gear will work on the PS5 so ...

Anyhow the multi-check box in the calibration software was enabled so I could not drive with the Fanatec gear until I unchecked that box - eventually I did - just one check box I away I was ... and a lot of time too :dunce:

So I raced in race C and lost only about 2k in DR. Darn it I could not loose any SR in the first race. I started 3rd, missed the start because I thought they were going to go green ... so being on the outside - left side of the first corner, naturally I got punted because I was simply still on the bitumen. For a second at least. No penalty though - but I got one later at the chicane. A car decided to sit across the chicane, quite suddenly. So yes - I did hit him. How could I not? minus 4 seconds for that ... and when I came out, naturally several more cars drove by me - I got punted ... I came out eventually, and drove to 12th.

2nd race - same leaders - I have raced against one, he's quite fair. He had a 14:43 qual, the next guy was not much faster than my 1;14.87. I'm 3rd again on the grid, lots of As but some Bs at the back. This time I start well and surprisingly I find the 4c is just as fast as those Lexus things. Both in front of me ... but the 2nd car runs wide, I just drive by, you beaut - now its second and hey - I will win this. Coming onto the second straight, the guy who ran wide is pushing, and I pull left and let him by me - smart move. I'll save some fuel, i am cruising. Except that at the S curves he looses his car and suddenly he's at right angles in front of me - I've got a split second, I hit him, run off the track, get 4 seconds for his spin ... then I get collected by the queue of angry drivers. I get back onto the track - 46 seconds behind the leader now. I do my penalty, and come 19th. Fastest lap though but so what and I did several angry 2nd to 5th fastest laps as well.

How come when a car that is two car lengths in front of, jack knife's off a curb and spears into you - and you get the 4 second penalty?
1 - I can't avoid him anyway
2- If I dive left I'll still hit him and then I am on the grass and I am crashing too
3 - Then coming out of the grass I'll get collected by the queue (this is lap two)

It's happened to me often and its the thing that most annoys me about the game. Why punish the driver who is not making mistakes?

Of course I know why - it's because PD believe that having crashes is what the game is about.

And when I was 21st I thought I need to get my SR down ... so I pass a guy, and really thought about hitting him. Then the next guy - but I just couldn't do it. Being pushed down from 99 SR to A level or even B would have mean't I'd have a fun race with slower drivers who were cleaner than the shunters out there this afternoon in the high SR S group ... so PD and, that's enough until I cool down ... and PD, why not at least try to get some justice in the game? This should not be a track subset of the next version of Grand Theft Auto ...

Partially off topic (Le Mans is going to be weekly soon I think/hope): Porsche posted a 360 Degrees Video of a Lap in Le Mans. While I was already overwhelmed since I knew about 360 Pictures and never kney about 360 Videos I also noticed the "intelligent" Rear-camera. Watch when Vanthoor exits the first chicane on Hunaudières (at about 1:07): there is an LMP behind him and the display marks it with a red arrow and also shows the other cars position while they are driving side by side. On the other hand, once Vanthoor passed another car that is marked with a green arrow (1:45). It seems the color marks the distance/speed delta related to the different car because once it also changes color red-orange-yellow-green.

Kinda cool this is.

Now if professional drivers have these aids and can race two hours at Le Mans, why can't so many GTS-Drivers a clean 10-Minute race on Dragon-Tail?

I could not view the video sadly.

And GTS is designed to have crashes. PD want them. And PD wants to provide the feeling to drivers of getting punished and to provide pain to us drivers after someone drives into you, and its not at all your own fault - you're going to suffer some pain for that.

My guess as to the reason why this is: I reckon that Nakamuchi San the head Gran Turismo guy (or whatever his name is) had a very troubled upbringing. No wonder most players who have raced GTS do less than 10 races. Or is that 7 races?

And I guess the means too - don't tell my wife - we are all sick-oh's too. :banghead::crazy:

Had a go at the B combo. Started 3rd, finished 3rd. Pretty uneventful race. Top 2 were Supras and my RSR could barely maintain their pace. Shame, because I had an 8 second gap to the rest of the grid.

Oh well, not too bad for not having played anything in Sport Mode for quite some time and considering the last time I did I got punted to oblivion, this was a nice change of pace.

How do people complete the race at Goodwood without pitting for fuel? I cannot go fast enough if I conserve fuel. To me it seems impossible to do this without dropping right to the back of the field. I tried to stretch the range as far as I could, but not enough to make it on one tank. Pitting will not give the me the win unless everyone else does it. I had decent pace when I didn't have to worry about fuel. Whenever I try to reduce fuel consumption, my laps times drop off too much to remain in contact with the leaders. And no, don't tell me to use manual gears because it's too difficult for me.

awesome that is. Did you see the red warning arrow on his screen at 1:10? not finished watching it all yet as i'm at work in my shop and i keep getting pesky customers coming through the door
Are you going to Le Mans this week?
