My SR is tanked... My luck is awful.

Guess i'm SR B for FIA. Dreams shattered.

just can't trust people to let me go around goodwood without getting murdered.

i swear d rank drivers had more sense than B and A guys i seem to get matched with. But my dr is back down to C anyway so no worries.

sad Markku is sad.

Figures, the one race I didn’t video today is the one I win lol. Was running along in second and all of a sudden 1st dumps it out of no where around the right handed that leads up the hill and into the fast esses. I didn’t even realize I had passed him for a few seconds, oh well I’ll never say no to a gift. :)

I've picked up a penalty or two around there. Some people don't slow down, use you as their braking zone, bump and drive themselves off the track. I'd assume that's how you got one as well (blue car in your rearview mirror). Great videos by the way, hopefully you can make more.

Thanks. That’s what I figured as well, he hit my rear left and then went off track. My original plan was to do the videos for the Q laps at the beginning of the week, but that’s a lot of video to sift though at the end of a session. I’m still gonna try it on Monday night though lol. :)

Needs more golf.

Oh don’t worry, there is lots of golf just outside the frame. :D

Edit: Just pulled off a no stopper in the Lambo at GoodWood on the first attempt. FM3 the entire way other than the last 2 laps, and LOTS of short shifting. It’s been some overall clean racing in SR B today, I’m impressed. :)

How do people complete the race at Goodwood without pitting for fuel? I cannot go fast enough if I conserve fuel. To me it seems impossible to do this without dropping right to the back of the field. I tried to stretch the range as far as I could, but not enough to make it on one tank. Pitting will not give the me the win unless everyone else does it. I had decent pace when I didn't have to worry about fuel. Whenever I try to reduce fuel consumption, my laps times drop off too much to remain in contact with the leaders. And no, don't tell me to use manual gears because it's too difficult for me.
I've been wondering this too - been watching people all week, start on pole, get the fastest lap and the win, whilst no stopping.....

There have been some online comments about a pit cheat too, but I don't know what it is. I've seen a few people stuck in the pits, but that can't be the cheat!

What I have noticed is that the brakes squeal when you pull up in the pits - is that new, or have I just not heard it before? (I am quite deaf, so that could be the case....).

I am loving the fact that so many different cars are competitive here, although, despite the fact that the 4C dominates the qualifying times, I've only seen two in races, neither of which made it past the first corner!

Thanks, I’d be curious to know that stat as well. I’m definitely a leaner, My neck gets sore at times from leaning so much.

Since I race while standing, I have nearly fallen over on some long corners  A side step is often necessary to regain my balance. It's called the daily workout for a reason ;)

Nice! I wonder why I keep trying for a clean race bonus while racing in SR.B is cleaner and gives you better results lol. SR.S is losing it's shine at a rapid pace these last few weeks. Nice driving!

I got bored and wanted to try something else so I set BOP mode on the Gr.2 NSX and took a couple of sneaky laps in advance of next weeks combo @ Alsace II :P No where near any optimal lap time as there's loads of time to come off with some serious effort but I just gotta say this car fits like a glove for this track.. Should be a great week there!

It does feels a bit wrong being able to test it in advance

but... why not if it's public knowledge? ;)👍

Great lap! I nearly had a 1.36.9 today in the R8 but binned it frivolously. Wasn't meant to be!

Thanks! This combo is a good workout. I didn't try the R8 because I prefer FR cars but it's fast. I've binned a 0.7 and a 0.8 laps today in the breaking for the last corner too. Will try again tomorrow :D

I'm not doing the races tho

And there in lies the rub. Messing with fuel mapping on the fly is too messy for me.. I run chase mode and rely on the radar. Too many steps to go from radar to fuel mapping and back again *and* focus on the race. The only way I know of is to do exactly what you say you won't do... manual shifting. I've done a few no stops, but I'd never have been able to do it without short shifting and picking taller gears than recommended. Sorry.. I know that doesn't help much. Learning to shift may well be worthwhile. I seem to recall @Sven Jurgens complaining learning manual was too hard, but I believe now he does it too ;).

Unfortunately short shifting with manual gears is a big part of fuel saving. And you don't need to keep up with the leaders, just be close enough that you pass them when they pit.

Certain cars are better on fuel too. The NSX and Citreon GT are good to try.

Yeah MT is essential for fuel saving. FM is far too crude and slows you down a lot more. With short shifting you can fine tune it precisely and stay in higher gears through corners. It's not that it's too hard, it was the finger gymnastics that put me off. Shifting with the bumpers is indeed not possible for me, yet with X and [] it's very do-able.

@CLowndes888 Even without fuel saving MT has many advantages. A well timed shift works better than lifting to make the corner. Engine braking or simply shifting down early to hear how fast you are going helps as well. It does take some time to get used to and every car has different shift points, but it quickly becomes second nature. The suggested gear for corners already flashes on screen (although a lot of corners you can easily take in a higher gear) and that big bar on screen is in a prefect place to see when to shift up. Some cars are faster when shifting late, some when shifting early. With MT you prevent shifting up right before the braking point, shifting further down mid corner, shifting right at corner exit.
Looks like I'll need to change the button mapping to what I have in Project Cars 2... L1 to upshift, R1 to downshift. The arrangement I have currently involves me moving my right thumb up and down off the grip which compromises my driving ability heavily.

That's what I used to use for GT3 and 4. Now I use R/L 2. I know a lot of people use these for throttle/brake, but I used to race RC buggies, so using the analogue sticks for steering and throttle/brake is more natural. Just means no left foot braking simulation. R/L 2 is much kinder to my joints compared to R/L 1. Once you get used to shifting you'll find it helps get you out of trouble too. I started with GT3 because the auto was sooooo slow at getting the car moving again after my numerous crashes.

Just curious as I can't see the cars used on the Kudos Prime world leaderboard only the driver and gap etc.. can anyone from that region say what car/cars were used for the top 2 times please?

Thanks in advance and props to anyone running sub 1'14's

I have not looked since yesterday but then the top two were both Lexus RC cars.

However it was fairly mixed; there were two Alfas mid field, some Huricans, two more Lexus RCs and an Aston too was about 4th or 5th ... I'll post late tonight although by then it'll be too late for you I guess.

I cannot drive the Lexus but I do knows that its V8 is best changed at quite low RPM, so its fuel use is likely to be terrific. Maybe that also is a reason why some top drivers have been using it a lot. It feels like a 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille to me.

This was my first race of the night on Wednesday, I go on to explain how I save fuel and keep the speed up. I use fuel map 1 the entire time, short shifting and coasting into the braking zones. I don't think the Ferrari is the best for the no stop, but it is certainly competitive.

@CLowndes888 if you don't want to learn manual, then you just restrict yourself in available strategies. I know it is difficult to learn, but after a bit of time you will find it second nature, and be faster because of it.

Two 3 second penalties later... First one was for a WRX coming up my inside on the wall and grass at the start. I twitched right(made contact) as I saw it in the side warning light. Penalty for that is dumb.
Second one was side contact with a Cayman, as it got out of shape avoiding a collision ahead. I slow up and the car behind hits me into the Cayman.

That's what happens, particularly with Gr4. If you back off the pack behind you senses weakness and attacks . No one seems to notice the concertina effect.

When people use the Huracan, do they literally have to act like a bull in a china shop? I'm a Taurus myself. Even I don't give the horns every damn second!

It's what they do :dopey:. If there is even a single Hurracan you can be sure that it will find me and ram me in some way shape or form :banghead:.

Works for many other cars. Even more annoying are drivers with a pending penalty desperately trying to block you early in the race.

Spare a thought for CLLwndes888. He was leading that race. When next thing, I see I'm passing him around 10th place.

Well, after that Huracan bashing I got earlier, I was bumped down to A. I decided to look on the Kudos Prime player thing and saw I was at 71. I don't monitor the tallies as much as most on here. However, I just finished a race where I was getting knocked off the track. I fell to, I don't know what place, but I drove hard to finish 2nd. I look at the KP points and I'm at 88. I also went back up to S/S with 38910 points(Edit: now 39164). Thought it was 40000 to get to S/S.

I looked at all the previous days I was at S/S, but it shows A with 38k points and under. I just play the game. Too much number checking.

Do they all happen to have skulls on their liveries as well?
No skulls, but check these players out. THIS time, I didn't fall for the banana in the tailpipe. I timed the shove and tapped my brakes right at that crucial moment.

Another thing is, enough of the fuel conserving stuff. Flat out in the Alfa Megane every race. I've been overfilling and make sure tyres are changed. If I am close to the leader, by the time they catch back up to me after the pit(or if they're within 7 seconds ahead), I have fresher tyres and more fuel to burn. Pit lap 8 or 9, I'm at 3-3.1 laps left. Fill to 7.5 or 8(depending on which lap I pit). I really wanted to try versus those RC Fs, before I got knocked out.
Results last race also video. I pressed that player and they didn't flinch. Figured one of us will run out of fuel before the other or crash. Mustang pitted with 19%. I pitted with 34%:

When I had my Driving Force Pro from 2008-2015, I did that way more times than I care to admit. :D

Same here with my DFGT, it’s quite the thrill trying not to go out the road while re attaching the wheel. :D

Hey now, I drive a Huracan with a skull on it!! Not all bulls are bad. :)
